Mark Nemirov (Most recent)

How long have you been playing on Aurora?:

Multiple months to a year, I don't usually keep track of playtime.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?
I couldn't remember if they were any, and if there were at most it was to educate me on how to handle things better.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:
To provide structure and coordination to a department. To represent a department in the chain of command and on a larger scale, to administer their jurisdiction effectively without overstepping boundaries. They should also serve as a mentor figure to newer crewmembers, and develop better roleplay within the station/ship.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:
As a position of power, it would be expected to treat each player equal, and not carry grudges or give out preferential treatment. I usually treat other players as my peers, not much more or less. I would keep my department reasonably occupied, and allow others to enjoy the round.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career?
Due to the ongoing shortage of phoron and increasing prospecting efforts as of lately, a former legionnaire pilot, Mark Nemirov, signs on with the SCC as a bridge crewman. By the time the SCCV Horizon was launched, he had been selected among many to serve aboard the SCCV Horizon. He does have a logistics degree, accredited by Ceres University, and has recently put in his application for a promotion.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?
XO/HOP, Captain

Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?
Yes. I have. I undnerstand that the Captain/XO are discouraged from powergaming nor getting too directly involved with dangers, neither should go on away missions with Bridge Crew, and the departmental heads must act level headed but also allow for good roleplay for the betterment of the round and other players' fun.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.:
Mark Nemirov - Captain

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?
Yes, I understand that if my behavior warrants it, my whitelist could be revoked.

Have you linked your byond account to the forums?
I have now, after some difficulty.

Extra notes:
I have been multiple command roles on other servers, namely Baystation. Note that my account is new, since I created it for the purpose of applying for the whitelist and getting more involved with Aurorastation's community as of late.

hi. i do have some feed back. if you’re going to play captain, you need to have more of a presence in round. when a captain present, command who otherwise act fairly independent are going to start looking to you for orders and updates. when i played command with you, i think that you had an issue with doing things without telling anyone which made the round pretty confusing, and you weren’t super present on command comm regardless. communication especially in a captain role is extremely difficult but very important

I think you might need more practice in intermediate roles before you go to head honcho command roles. Last night you were a captain during an admittedly-chaotic cult/vampire round that devolved into security having to act pretty much autonomously because you were largely absent, giving vague instructions, or outright conflicting instructions. All in all, I just don't think you're ready to play captain.

You are really good at speaking, and roleplaying, you just need to do it more. Captain is a big deal, you should speak to everyone, and be more clear with instructions given to those that are involved, and this includes not just security. I would recommend taking more time to develop that skill or switching to a departmental head rather than captain.

Having been CMO on a recent round with your captain, I have to echo what danse said. While it's better then previous rounds and shows improvement, I think you still need to figure out how to have a presence in rounds, it's something I admittedly struggled with during my trial period. Try giving more orders, having a consistent plan, and checking in with departments.

I am sorry but due to lack of feedback I won't accept this.

My recommendation is to simply continue playing for a while and interact with the community and simply apply again in a month of two.

Should you have any questions regarding this you can message me on discord.
