This has been a thread I've been meaning to make, but got too lazy.

Basically, what do you guys do, pertaining to the outdoors?

I've always enjoyed camping ( real camping, mind you ), in general. Backpacking is just something that has always gone hand-in-hand with that, as well. Having the ability to be just in the middle of nowhere, in a tent is always fun, to me.

I've done very little rock climbing, but that's still something under my belt, as well.

What do you guys like to do, when it comes to actual outdoorsy type things?

I like napping in the grass on sunny days.

hehe. Only kidding. In my spare time. I am a member of the Hampshire and isle of Wight Army Cadet Force, and I personally relatively enjoy getting out on Field Exercises, sleeping out under the stars with a bit of tarp over the head, doing observations, section attacks, patrols.

Driving a bike. Sometimes, I just take my bike and go drive outside of the city for a few hours. Miles and miles of farmlands, forests and swamps. It's perfect when you want to get away from the world. Then I go for a cold beer usually, before heading back home.

Where I lived previously, I used to constantly go into nearby forest, with a beautiful river, and canyon-like formations... Well, not actual canyons, as there are no actual rocky mountains in my old country...

Now, I often ride my bike, and/or go climb a nearby mountain

I like to go to a public outdoor shooting range managed by FWC in the next county. It's on the edge of a nature preserve sort of thing, I've never gone into it myself, but it means the area is nice and secluded. It's also a nice drive down the dirt road leading to the range itself.

Actually no. my company does most of its field exercises on Salisbury Plain. Dunno where C Company (Isle of Wight) do theirs. Probably Salisbury Plain too.

I... Kind of live in the Salisbury area which is only a stones throw from Salisbury plain.

But for me, a lot of my work involves being outside weirdly enough. But occasionally I go outside and split some wood with my trusty hatchet.
