veeqies Posted January 24 Posted January 24 BYOND key: veeqies Discord Username: veeqies Character names: Madison Rivera Erin Vanhauwaert How long have you been playing on Aurora? I'd say I'm relatively new, having been around for around a year, but I've only been active for around 6 months. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? None, to my knowledge? Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? Heads of staff are deemed to be important roles and are barred from the general public - they require the player to know what they're doing, as a head of staff is required to be involved in-round matters relevant to them, whether it be by allowing a reasonable antagonist gimmick to roll, mentoring newer players on the matters of mechanics AND lore, where it's possible, or, at the bare minimum, communicating with the departments of your own and other heads of staff, keeping things in check and overall making sure all the cogs are running in the machine, or, rather, the vessel, in this particular case. After all, command isn't simply about authority, it's about offering opportunities to the players like yourself. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? Similar to the question above (as such some points may be repeated - the two questions overlap each other a lot!), whitelisted players have always served as an example to other players just by their mere presence ingame. A whitelist means that a player is given a certain level of trust by the staff team, and as such is expected to uphold professionalism - by being an overall good roleplayer, actively participating in a given round, as well as willing to assist others where it's relevant (for example, mentoring a new player, either by teaching them mechanics or lore in a fun and engaging way rather than simply reading it off the wiki). I think following the points provided here and the responsibilities of heads of staff provided right before is enough to count. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. Renault Rousseau, born Renault Willow, originating from Venus, within Solarian space, unsurprisingly, has remained largely unaffected by most global events throughout her years, given that Venus by itself is akin to an isolated bubble, with anything particularly worth the effort being exploited for the most profit there is, politics were merely a reason for an argument at a barcounter, and for those wealthy and famous - an opportunity to take advantage of, as to lever their usually already abundant fame beyond Venus, and Sol as a whole. There's nothing a celebrity may wish upon but to gain widespread recognition. And while away from the entertainment industry as a whole, Willow has instead pursued a less traditional career for your everyday Cytherean, graduating from Nunusa Medical with exceptional results and picking a career with Zeng-Hu Pharmaceuticals - arguably one of the most influential bodies across all of Venus. Climbing up in the world relatively quickly, with a fellowship in neurovascular surgery, tucked under her belt, she has pursued further recognition, albeit among smaller societies, - among fellow medical professionals, an aspiring career of a doctor wouldn't just cut it. Internal fellowships within the Solarian College of Surgeons and the Solarian Association of Neurological Surgeons has introduced her to the upmost elite of the society - fancy banquets, expansive galas with hundreds to thousands of people present all at once, it was all within hands' reach now. At that, barely in her mid thirties, Willow, now Rousseau, has seemingly reached the top, not of the world but, instead, a shorter mountain of the bunch. It could only go further from here, having volunteered for a position as the Chief Medical Officer, perhaps all that experience as attending hasn't all been for nothing? What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Probably just the Chief Medical Officer for the time being, with maybe the Executive Officer creeping upon as I gather more experience outside of medical. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes, I have Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Renault Rousseau, Chief Medical Officer Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums? Yes Extra notes: I've mostly been relatively unknown or/and didn't communicate/interact with the community outside of the game until just recently, but I hope I've played for long enough to at least make an impression, there are totally some people that have found my characters worth playing with, at the very least! 3
Hepatica Posted January 24 Posted January 24 +1. Veeqies has done a great job of showcasing her ability to play characters from multiple backgrounds and dispositions quite well. She's shown she is capable of roleplaying well, having great mechanical ability, and giving antags lee way to continue or build upon their gimmicks when applicable. I think she would be a great fit for a command whitelist.
gladiatorgames123 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Big ol' +1! Veeqies is an excellent and very competent roleplayer, from the very first interaction I've had with their character's it's been an absolute treat. You can really see the effort and care they put into their characters and crafting their personhoods, alongside being more than capable from a gameplay perspective. They're a perfect fit for the command lifestyle, and I think there's really no reason to not give them a punt at a trial! Best of luck, Veeqs, I'm sure you won't need it you silly goober!!!
FearTheBlackout Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Veeqies has already shown herself able to play a variety of different characters with plenty of interesting ways to interact with them. She's also a very affable person out-of-character, so I support her application for those reasons. Long live Miso!
Fyni Posted January 27 Posted January 27 On trial until 3 FEB. Be sure to post your application once a round to gather feedback.
The_Ill_Fated Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Played RD alongside their CMO, and thought they did an excellent job in the engagement I had with them. We can always use more CMOs! +1
beepbopbeepbop Posted January 28 Posted January 28 played a round of HOS with veeq's CMO and they did very well by all regards; good round presence, communicating with the rest of command, and medical seemed to run smoothly and without any troubles. +1
rrrrrr Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I have interacted with Veeq's Chief Medical Officer a number of times, as someone who plays characters prone to malingering and getting horribly maimed. They're playing a great character and seem to have what some call "the sauce" --- it truly feels as though I'm talking to a doctor! +1
Lordnesh Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Played several rounds with them at this point. I think they'll do just fine as command. +1
NerdyVampire Posted Monday at 01:38 Posted Monday at 01:38 Seems a responsible, informed and interactive CMO, and of course the roleplay is where it should be +1
Rookie Eyes Posted Monday at 04:36 Posted Monday at 04:36 Veeqies CMO is fully capable of leading the department, knowing how to both stay hands-off when the department is running fine, and generating RP which I personally saw through interactions with both Jenny Pratt and my own character more recently. +1
