So I suggest to add some pods like from GOON station. I have seen the other servers have them to, so. We can rebalace it if you think that they will be OP during Nuke ops, but we can add nuke ops pods too. Link to comment

The sheer amount of shit they have (sometimes literally) needs to be very, very carefully evaluated. Goon is notorious for adding the most imbalanced, whacky, and ridiculous things to SS13. Skull132 Posted June 16, 2015 Share Posted June 16, 2015 GOON actually has a use for them: they have an expansive amount of extra content that can be reached with the pods the help of the pods. We do not. They would only serve a purpose in clearing out space fish, drones, or duking it out with nukeops. This means that we have no need for them, and that adding them would create a need for them. which isn't necessarily bad. But how adversly would it affect other mechanics already at play? TMOC Posted June 16, 2015 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Well actually space carp can be somewhat of a problem and so can the drones. More importantly, being able to patrol space is important to combat antagonists who are in EVA, mainly nuke ops - but there are other types of antagonists that like to occupy space and do their evil crimes out there. You could say that security could do it with the hardsuits, but it takes ages to suit up and actually leave the station and even longer to do a full sweep. A pods fairly simple and there's not really much of a process to the job, put on your suit, get in the pod, spend most of the round patrolling the station and wearing your suit. No need for the HoS to hand you one or for you to get external airlock access. Also, just saying - some people would probably have fun with it. Just put some strict rules on what not to do with the pod when they join - e.g. "Please do not become Dora The Explorer, your job is to patrol around the exterior of the station - not fly off into space.". Also, perhaps we could follow suit with bay and ditch the spy dj satellite thing and make it into a construction base for the derelict station, make it a secondary destination for the engineering shuttle, add construction maint drones and give it a couple of pods Link to comment

Since my ideallistic goal is to have the ground map finished within the next 3 months (late SEP at its latest), I don't think I'd be willing to feed this to myself or Scopes (I have priorities on the Biologist position, plus oddities; Scopes on maintenance and the ground map). However, a topic that was echoed on OOC a few days ago was rovers. Code is basically the same, with a few exceptions (and I know where to fetch it: Paradise). So, to pull the lazy thoughts together: I am not willing to commit the official resources we have to unfuck, balance and otherwise manage these at this time. Link to comment

I think we can make them useful for clearing drones/carps. +mining, +engineering for repairing, +exploring pods. We can use this z levels or from the stargate maps. Making new space levels is not that hard. I can help you with mapping too. Link to comment
