NewOriginalSchwann Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 (edited) Prime Minister Condemns Elyran Human Rights Violations After Nuzheid Massacre UNITY STATION (GST) - The Office of the Prime Minister has issued an official Solarian government statement condemning the Republic of Elyra for its response to protests in its fuel industry. Describing the Elyran response as, “an unacceptable violation of human dignity,” Prime Minister Strom condemned the Elyran state as, “sliding into the same authoritarianism we have so recently escaped,” and called on other members of the galactic community to join the Alliance in condemning Elyra’s response in an address to the assembled Senate. Shadow President Renaud has led a senatorial effort to officially sanction Elyran phoron exports in response to the suppression of Nuzheid labor protests, and has been joined by several members of the SPP’s factions along with SPDP and SPP senators. Senatorial President Sumida and the SFP, alongside other members of both SPP factions and the CPASSN, have called for sanctions on Elyran political, business, and military leaders instead, citing the Republic of Elyra as one of the only practical non-Tau Cetite sources of phoron. Negotiations may take weeks to resolve as neither faction has enough votes for a supermajority due to the SPP’s split and the CPASSN acting as a spoiler. Senator Pavlov (PLU), CPASSN leading senator, advised his party had chosen to back Sen. Sumida’s proposition due to it directly targeting leading figures of the Elyran system and stated he expects, “full backing,” from his party members. Polls conducted by the SANN indicate there is widespread support for action against Elyra for its response to the protests, with 76% of respondents favoring some level of response and 34% favoring a “very harsh” economic response. Abroad, Coalition states have already moved to condemn Elyran for its actions. NewOriginalSchwann Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 PM Strom Commemorates Five Years since Civil War’s Start UNITY STATION (GST) - This November is a sorrowful reminder for many Solarians of the Civil War’s start. Five years ago, our nation erupted into chaos as Solarian turned against Solarian, with violence only ending in 2465 following the defeat of the Restoration Front in the Northern Reaches. The prime minister commemorated those lost during the Civil War today in a speech to the assembled Senate. Attached is a video of Strom standing at a lectern in the Senate’s chambers. Flanking him are Senatorial President Sumida, leader of the Senate, and Shadow President Renaud, leader of the opposition. All are grim-faced and serious, and Strom is wearing a pin with the Mictlani flag on it. It is, after all, five years since the start of the Civil War and the devastating defeat suffered in ‘62. “Five years ago,” Strom grips the sides of the lectern, looking much more like the firebrand senator who banned tajara and led the emergency government than Strom the PM and peacemaker, “members of the galactic community stood by and watched as Tau Ceti tore our nation apart by striking our weaknesses and exploiting our divisions. They stood by as our fellow citizens were imprisoned, were murdered, and were turned into corporate equipment by secessionists in Tau Ceti and their corporate sponsors! They saw us as weak, as corrupt, as an easy target to exploit and defeat in detail!” Strom pauses for a moment. A murmur of disapproval goes through the assembled senators at this reminder of the past. “But they were wrong!” Strom pumps his fist into the air to cheering, then returns it to the lectern! “Our great nation — the oldest human nation, and the home of our species! — is stronger than any secessionist, any Tau Cetite, any corporate stooge could ever imagine!” Strom pauses again, this time to murmurs of approval and a few claps. “Our nation has become stronger than it was five years ago, ten years ago, twenty years ago! Because the Solarian people believe in the Solarian Alliance! And that is something a corporation can never truly buy!” The assembled senators erupt in applause, including Sumida and Renaud, which continues until Strom quiets the chamber with a gesture of his hand. “As we mark five years since the start of the Civil War, I thank every Solarian for their support of our nation, and of our efforts to rebuild and reclaim what we have lost since 2462. I also thank all those who cannot be here with us today to celebrate, whether they are casualties in the Civil War or forced to live under foreign tyranny,” Strom pauses a moment and looks around the silent chamber in approval. “I also wish to assume any Solarians living under foreign occupation: we have not forgotten you, and we will come back for you. Thank you, and long live our Alliance.” Strom flashes double V for Victory signs as his speech ends and the assembled chamber bursts into a standing ovation. NewOriginalSchwann Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 PM Prepares for First Holiday Season in Office UNITY STATION (GST) - In a welcome return to form for many Solarians, the Prime Minister’s Office has reinstated the traditional winter season celebration after nearly a decade-long suspension of the celebration by former PM Frost and the interim emergency government. The Unity Station Christmas tree for this year has been delivered from Visegrad and, for many in the Mandates, serves as an important reminder of reunification. Klaudia Szalai, current leader of the Southern Reconstruction Mandate, called the tree, “an important symbolic gesture to the unity of our Alliance, now and forever more.” Prime Minister Strom described the holidays as, “a time when all Solarians can come together and celebrate what we have accomplished over the past year. We now live in a freer, more just, and more peaceful Alliance than at any time during the past decade. But we should not forget those suffering elsewhere in the Spur who suffer under the tyranny of foreign occupation, afraid criticism of their government or simple protests will have them condemned to a fate worse than death: that of cyborgification. To those Solarians living under the boot of oppression, I give you this message: we have not forgotten you!” The embassy of the Republic of Tau Ceti condemned the statement as, “a disgraceful misuse of the holidays for political gain,” and threatened to close its consulate in Nueva Isabela, San Colette, due to what it termed an, “increasingly hostile environment towards the Republic’s government.” The Freedom from Tau Ceti Foundation applauded Strom’s remarks and has announced that all donations by new members will be met and doubled between now and Christmas. NewOriginalSchwann Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 (edited) Military: Terrorist Activity on Lycoris “Worryingly” Increased During 2467 UNITY STATION (GST) - The Army’s peacekeeping mission on Lycoris has reported an increase in terroristic activity from December 2466 to December 2467, though certain types of attacks have decreased. Solarian Army casualties were lower in 2467 than 2466 but casualties among Lycorii civilians have increased. Analysts believe this suggests a shift in the Restoration Front’s (RF) tactics from opposing the government to making their presence intolerable for normal civilians. Further information suggests the RF may have split internally, with a group calling itself the “New Restoration Movement” having claimed responsibility for some of the bloodiest attacks against civilians this year, such as the July subway bombings that killed 56 and injured 189, none military personnel. General Patrick Edwards, commander of all forces in the Northern Reaches, described the attacks as, “cowardly,” and promised to bring the perpetrators to justice. General Edwards advised the military has increased patrols of urban areas and increased security measures around major infrastructure. Training of the new Lycoris Planetary Police Service, intended to replace disbanded groups affiliated with the RF, has been accelerated and officers of the LPPS are expected to be patrolling by early 2468, according to the Department of Justice. The New Restoration Front has claimed it represents, “a clean break,” with the ideology of former PM Michael Frost, and only began its terror campaign after the, “betrayal,” of opening relations with Biesel by the Strom government. The Department of Justice has considered the NRF a terrorist group since the July bombings and there is an award for providing information related to the arrest of any members. NewOriginalSchwann Posted January 7 Posted January 7 On the Ground on Lycoris The camera opens on a view of the ever-present Harold MacMillan, host of The State of Sol, looking up from his dataslate, placing it down, and nodding resolutely to the camera. “Good evening, and welcome back to The State of Sol. As always I’m your host, Harold MacMillan. Tonight’s headlines include the incoming Jeweler Cup on Konyang, the continued debate on what to do about Elyra following a bloody massacre of striking workers on Aemaq, and reports of increasing terrorist violence on Lycoris. We go now to our reporter on Lycoris, Le Quyen Cong. Le?” The camera switches to a nervous-looking Cong, a bespectacled Hai Phongese reporter for the SANN. She has swapped out her typical jacket and respirator for a blue bulletproof vest-and-helmet combination with “PRESS” written on the front. Behind her is what will be recognizable to any Solarian veteran as a forward operating base of the Solarian Army, complete with camouflage tarps and sand-filled barrier blocks. Quyen nods to the camera. “I can, Harold.” “Where are you, and what’s the situation like?” “It’s tense, but safe here in Forward Operating Base Howe, Harold. I’m, ah, embedded with soldiers of the 164th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, from Earth, who have been responsible for peacekeeping operations in this region. Earlier I spoke with Colonel Richard Carlson, commander of the 164th, who advised the situation here is very dynamic.” The feed cuts to a recording of Cong and Colonel Carlson, who is speaking to the reporter. Carlson is an older man with a well-kept, short haircut. He’s taken the time to pin his sleeves at the elbows and has a bit of scruff on his face — it seems he’s been busy lately. “We can’t deny there’s been an increase in insurgent activity in this region, Miss Cong.” “Why do you think that is?” “Insurgencies are dynamic systems, ma'am,” Carlson seems to be a bit irritated at having to explain this. “They can fluctuate from year to year, season to season, and the ideological foundation of this one is strong. It’s not easy to come in as a ‘foreign’ power and change minds. It's not going to happen overnight, like that,” the Colonel snaps his fingers! "We might end up staying here for a long time. Years." The camera switches back to Cong in the FOB behind her, further back in the fortifications, a large transport helicopter touches down in a shower of dust: this seems to be a fairly hot and dry region of the planet. Some form of noise cancellation on her microphone renders the helicopter barely audible instead of deafening. “As you can see Harold,” Cong turns and points over at the helicopter, “this area is very busy, and troops seem to be enthusiastic about their chances of taking the fight to the Front’s remnants. But with terror attacks increasing in cities some are worried the conflict may be shifting into a more urban phase, placing more Solarians at risk. Back over to you, Harold.” The camera switches back to MacMillan in his office, now wearing a dour expression. He nods to the camera. “That was Le Quyen Cong, reporting from Lycoris. The State of Sol will be right back with reporting on the ongoing efforts to censure Elyra, so stay tuned!” MacMillan points his pen at the viewer as the camera zooms out and fades into a commercial break. 3
NewOriginalSchwann Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) Department of Justice: Lycoris Met Police Training Goals for 2467 HARMONY CITY, LUNA (GST) - A spokesperson for the Department of Justice has confirmed the newly reformed Lycoris Planetary Police Service has met the goals set out for it by the DOJ nearly three years ago in late 2465. Intended to replace the Lycoris National Police Agency, which was responsible for widespread atrocities during the civil war, officers of the LPPS have been cleared to start patrols of their home planet and are expected to fully take over civilian policing duties from Army and federal police by early 2470. During the transitional period, LPPS officers will work alongside their military and federal counterparts. Attorney General Henri Fontenot described this accomplishment as, “a major step towards ensuring the law and Solarian rights are respected and upheld on Lycoris.” The planet, which has seen an increase in violence since 2466, was a major industrial hub prior to 2462 and some in its business community hope it can recover its pre-secession position as a major world in the Northern Reaches and close counterpart of nearby San Colette. Lycorii interviewed by the LPPS expressed cautious optimism about the police agency, with some viewing it as a step towards self-determination and ending the ongoing military peacekeeping operation on the planet. However, many described feelings of nervousness towards a reformed police service, with an individual who requested they be only identified as Engineer F describing how they had hid from LNPA officers for two years during the civil war after their spouse was discovered to be from Tau Ceti. Engineer F advised they would, “never again trust [Lycorii] police after the civil war.” Further Reading: Massive Sandstorms Throw Tết Travel Plans of Many Haiphongers into Disarray Sen. NewOriginalSchwann Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Republic of Elyra Hit by Hardest Tariffs of Decade in New Law UNITY STATION, EARTH (GST) - Deadlock over the Nuzheid Act has been resolved by the Senate following a compromise between it and the opposing Sultan Act, which primarily dealt with Elyran economic and political leaders. Under the Nuzheid Act all imports from Elyra are subject to an incense 45% tariff, the highest imposed by the Alliance since a 100% tariff against Biesel was lifted in 2460, and accounts held in the Alliance by prominent Elyran military, economic, and political leaders are to be frozen until further notice. Sen. Pres. Sumida (SFP-LUNA) led the push to pass the Act following news of attacks by Elyran Navy ships on independent vessels. Describing the actions of the Elyrans as, “no better than piracy,” Sumida officially declared the measure as passed. PM Strom is expected to sign the Nuzheid Act into law and there is broad support in the Alliance for retaliation against Elyra following its actions against striking workers last year and the subsequent naval incident in January of this year, with 74% of respondents favoring some level of tariffs, roughly the same level as in December 2468. Some members of the Alliance’s business community have expressed concern about potential phoron price increases in the near future, as a minority of the Alliance’s phoron comes from the Republic of Elyra, and the price of the fuel has only increased since 2462. NewOriginalSchwann Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Callisto-Visegrad-Moroz Route Celebrates Two Months of Operation NOVA LUXEMBOURG, MOROZ (GST) - In a conference for investors and business media, Pan Solarian Interstellar CEO Gui Cheng commemorated two months of operation by the new Sol-Dominia route operated by Pan Solarian in late November 2467. Citing the opening of the route as, “a fantastic windfall,” for Pan Solarian, Cheng showed previously internal company data on traveler numbers for the route. While not the top interstellar route for Pan Solarian, which remains Callisto-Xanu, the CVM route has passed Callisto-Visegrad-Persepolis and Callisto-Tau Ceti in travel numbers for the past two months. With tensions growing between the Republic of Elyra and the broader Spur, a Pan Solarian analyst spoken to by SANN reporter Cèline Eylenbosch advised he believes Elyran travel will sharply decline in 2467 and 2468 compared to 2466, where it reached five-year peak. Travel to the Republic of Tau Ceti has similarly declined, with many Solarian travelers describing it as unsafe or wishing to economically boycott the Tau Cetite tourist industry until it ends the occupation of Solarian territory. Morozian investor Jean-Louis de Montagne, employed by a hedge fund affiliated with a major Dominian family known as House Caladius, was interviewed by the SANN and described the CVM route as, “an incredible opportunity to bring Unity Station and Moroz closer together. The Solarian embassy in Nova Luxembourg noted it has processed more tourist visas in the past two months than in all of 2466. NewOriginalSchwann Posted Friday at 00:09 Posted Friday at 00:09 (edited) SANN Cameras Roll as Army Patrol Comes Under Fire FORWARD OPERATING BASE HOWE, LYCORIS - A reporting team led by Le Quyen Cong and embedded with the Army’s 1st Infantry Division witnessed a shocking escalation in Lycoris’ peacekeeping operations as their patrol came under fire from unknown actors assumed to be affiliated with the former Restoration Front. Cong’s footage of the patrol and the incident is featured in the video link below. THE FOLLOWING ANN-PRODUCED VIDEO CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: VIOLENCE, STRONG LANGUAGE PLAY? >YES< NO Spoiler The camera opens on a helicopter taking off as a taller, older man with a mustache and ballistic goggles – currently on his helmet, rather than his eyes – waves at a group of men and women surrounding him, yelling something inaudible to them. Beside him, a woman works the bolt on a M471 light machine gun – a standard-issue piece of the Solarian Army’s kit for decades – and a shorter man next to her adjusts his pack, grimacing at its weight. A man with his ballistic goggles down and over his glasses hits the forward assist on his M469A2, chambering a round, as he surveys the clearing. There is a nervousness in the air — a sense of jitteriness among the soldiers. “This is Lycoris,” Quyen’s voiceover begins. “In these dense forests, the men and women of third platoon, Charlie company, 164th Infantry Regiment, are responsible for carrying out peacekeeping duties: assisting Lycorii, destroying weapons, and – today – conducting search and destroy operations to find a suspected New Restoration Front training ground. The environment is uncomfortable – these forests are near the equator, and the temperature rises quickly as the sun beats down. You start thinking as you wander around. “Third platoon’s 21 soldiers mostly come from Earth, Luna, and the Sol System before the Asteroid Belt. They are the responsibility of Lieutenant Tihomir Lompar, a 35-year old from Yugoslavia, European Union, Earth,” the camera settles on the mustached man from before, now with his goggles down. Beside him walks a younger woman carrying a radio on her back, with a towel draped around her neck. She looks uncomfortable. “He’s thinking about the weight of his duty, of ensuring everyone finishes their tour on Lycoris alive and intact. It’s crushing: the kind of thing that wears you down before you realize it. The 21 soldiers of third platoon have to rely on their training, Lompar’s smarts, and their firepower to make it out alive.” The camera switches to the woman with the machine gun. The M471 now sits on a sling and is held much more aggressively, and her ballistic tracking mono-goggle is down. She can’t be more than twenty-five. “Specialist Mariam Mkrtchyan, known as ‘Murky’ to her platoon, comes from the Soviet Union. Recently awarded the silver star for keeping third platoon from being overrun during an ambush in November, Murky is thinking about her upcoming leave to San Colette, and how nice it will be to get off of Lycoris for a few weeks – she’ll get to show her mother and father her medal, and the equatorial forests of Lycoris — some of which would be at home on Visegrad — will have cooled down by January.” “Bringing up the front,” the camera switches to a thin, wiry man with a M469A2 in his hands and a M90 combat shotgun across his back, his dark eyes scanning the dense forest in front of him as he picks his way down a trail. He’s improvised some new equipment, showing either innovation or budget shortfalls. Over his ballistic vest is a set of bandoliers: one containing rifle magazines, the other stuffed full of shotgun shells, “is Corporal Frederico Lopez, born and raised in low-Earth orbit. The rest of third platoon calls Frederico twitchy, sometimes paranoid, occasionally unlucky — he’s been wounded twice by shrapnel and decorated both times — but they swear by his tracking skills and reflexes. The only human born in orbit in the platoon, Frederico is thinking about how there could be hundreds of Front insurgents out in the forest, maybe only feet from them. Third platoon depends on his tracking to ensure they get the drop on the Front, and not the other way around. It is a heavy burden to bear.” “Bringing up the unit behind him is Private Oscar Rutherford, the grenadier,” the camera switches again, this time showing the man with ballistic goggles over his glasses. Up close, one can easily see the grenade launcher mounted under his rifle. The text “AB+” has been written on the side of his helmet with more than a bit of force. “Rutherford comes from the United States, Earth, and he’s here to afford college. He’s thinking about how he’s got a girlfriend back home who’s waiting for him to get out, and how he can’t let her down — even on a mission as risky as this one — by getting injured.” The camera switches again, this time to a shorter woman with her rifle suspended by a sling. A sling bag at her side marked with a red diamond on a white background has a pair of medical gloves hanging out slightly, and a semi-transparent blue visor covers her eyes. The woman looks tense. “Yoon-ah Kyung is the platoon’s medic. They call her ‘Doc’ and trust she’ll be there for them when she’s needed. Originally from Korea, Earth, Doc’s thinking about how afraid she is: afraid today is when she finally catches a bullet going for a wounded soldier, or that she lets one of her comrades down, or a man dies under her care. But there shouldn’t be any reason for her to worry today — it’s just a sweep, clear, and detonate job. The Front doesn’t tend to stand and fight.” A shot of the tree canopy towering above the heads of the platoon — and Cong — is interrupted by sporadic gunfire and Kyung grabbing the camera operator, then physically dragging them off the path and behind some trees, followed closely behind by Cong. Nearby, Lompar is half-yelling something mostly inaudible into a handheld radio receiver as the woman with the radio pack watches down the path. There’s a brief lull in the fire before Mkrtchyan’s machine gun team runs up to a downed log, sits down, and opens fire, sending foliage everywhere. “There’s a shout from up front: someone’s been shot and needs a medic,” Cong’s voiceover states as the reporter herself hunkers behind a divot and takes out what seems to be a camera drone controller. “Hey!” Kyung shouts over the din. “I’m going up, give me some cover fire!” “Suppression for Doc, get me fire on the forest!” Lompar echoes as the medic dashes down the trail. “As third platoon blasts away the forest with gunfire, people start to ask: who’s been shot? Is it bad? Are they going to need evacuation? Then, it’s revealed,” Kyung runs back down the path, now carrying Lopez on her back. “It’s Corporal Lopez, the pointman already wounded twice before, and he’s been shot in the leg.” “They got me pretty fucking good,” Lopez says to the camera as Kyung finishes applying bio-gel to his right leg. “You should see the other guy though! Frontie gotta— he’s got a lot worse than a broken leg, hah! Ran onto him on the trail — guy in Lycorii S-D-F kit, flower and all. He wasn’t fast and I was” The lanky man laughs, then winces, but retains his smile for the camera. “Lopez puts on a brave face for third platoon,” Cong narrates, “but his leg is broken — he needs evacuation by helicopter. Off to FOB Howe,” the camera shows Lopez, now on a stretcher, being lifted into a hovering helicopter, “and then to a hospital ship in orbit.” “For third platoon,” Cong says to the camera from the same clearing as before. Her front is covered in dust and mud, and behind her are a few members of the patrol milling about. “This was just another day in the ongoing struggle on Lycoris. Now, after having identified the training ground for an airstrike, they prepare to head back to their base. Northern Command will report one injury, but an otherwise successful mission. For the SANN, I’m Le Quyen Cong, reporting from Lycoris.” Further Reading: The 2467 Jeweler Cup: Where to Watch Konyanger Baseball on the SANN Visegradi Meteorological Team “Very Likely” to Assist Dominian Government in Weather Emergency on Colony 2467 in Review: PM Strom’s First Year in Office Edited Friday at 00:10 by NewOriginalSchwann 2
