LordFowl Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Pretty simple. Since IPCs are machines, it only makes sense that they could have numbers in their name. It's a fairly machine thing to do.

Jboy2000000 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 This would be great. My original IPC was meant to have numbers in it, but when I couldn't have numbers I had to replace them with letter look alikes and the name ended up looking so rediculous and stupid no one on the station bothers to talk to me, and I even got BWOINKed because of it, so I just ended up getting rid of the character all together.

Dzheymz Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I don't see how this is necessary when you can use One/Two/Three... In fact, it seems more appropriate to use that instead of 1/2/3.

Jboy2000000 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Because theres a character limit, and "1" takes less characters than "one."

Guest Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I'm thinking this can be sorted out, however I do believe that I will be restricting it to IPC's, so if you try to spawn as a human type with numbers they will be removed from the name.

Take for example my IPC, HI-47 MkI. HI-47 MkI looks a lot better and cleaner than HI Fourty Seven MkI.

Covert0ddity Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I approve of this idea. I remember back when I first got IPC whitelists, I was going to make a generic NT-robot thingy with the name... NTAR-332, if I recall. It saddened me greatly when I discovered I couldn't do it, and made Renegade instead.

Frances Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 you could use roman numerals but that might get a little confusing i guess behold the HK-XLVII, model MMCDLVII!
LordFowl Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Since SoundScopes no longer exists, bumping this might be relevant. So I will.
Thesir Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 This is a good idea for IPCs. Roman numerals not only still look messy, but are also still multiple characters for what could be more concisely expressed with just numbers. That said, HK-XLVII is actually kinda theatrical and cool. Maybe a bad example lol
canon35 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Holy necro post, anyways, this idea is good and I want to see it implemented.
Guest Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Some arabic names and words have letters instead of numbers, so I'm thinking this should be a thing.
Owen Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 This should definitely be a thing. While roman numerals are fancy and all, I would like to have numbers for names. An IPC that I have seems almost too special without the numbers. I feel like the numbers would make them feel more of a factory model.
