Guest Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) Emagging faxes or copiers should spit out 30 pieces of paper, and then ultimately break the machine. If someone tries to use or interface with them, it should come up with a notification like "PC-LOAD LETTER". Edited November 3, 2015 by Guest
incognitojesus Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 obligatory question as to what this would serve to enhance the player's experience here
Guest Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 it throws bureaucracy as an option into the trash where it should've been 1 year ago
Guest Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Allowing special faxing destinations or completely unlocking fax functions permanently would be more interesting. Or allowing fax forging.
Killerhurtz Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 SO MUCH YES @PC_LOAD_LETTER and fax forging. I mean - RP Rev already STARTS because of a forged fax, why now allow all emag-accessible antags that option for maximum chaos?
Jboy2000000 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 That sounds like it'd be completely useless. DO's seem to get their rocks off by brushing off anything and everything thats faxed to them that has even the slightest mistake, so someone sending something that isn't signed by an approved head of staff, or made using the exact forum that can't be found anywhere on station, or anywhere easily, that even most heads Ive seen can't seem to find.
EvilBrage Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 @PC_LOAD_LETTER and fax forging. I mean - RP Rev Mutiny already STARTS because of a forged fax, why now allow all emag-accessible antags that option for maximum chaos? Semantics aside, I agree that communication with NanoTrasen should not be quite as infallible as it is, no matter how assholish those DO's are. And an aside - emergency communications really should be done through the communications console instead of faxes, if you ask me. Those can already be emagged anyways.

You mean the form that is in literally every requests console on the entire station?
incognitojesus Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 it throws bureaucracy as an option into the trash where it should've been 1 year ago I like this, guys.
Guest Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 I do want to add and say that emagging fax machines should permabreak them. Meaning, the station can't use them. At all. Really helpful for antag business, no?
LordFowl Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Emagging faxes should make them send dud messages to their target like "central command liekz butts".
Conservatron Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 emag fax should allow a user to synch a pda with the fax machine and, if a fax is sent, have the fax load up under the 'notes' area and allow a response via pda message.

You mean the form that is in literally every requests console on the entire station? That's not the correct form... depending on who you ask. As for the rest, they've been asked to tone it down on trivial garbage. I'm sure they'll get it through.
Gollee Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Provided it isn't some berk's crayon drawing of an ERT helmet; it should be accepted, though I can't deny that it's funny to tag a comment about the neatness to the bottom of the response. If that happens again, PM me the names of the DOs and admins on at the time (both can be found with the staffwho command) and I'll make words.
Skull132 Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Actually, giving a few antagonist roles, such as nuke ops and the MalfAI and even normal traitors, a way to scramble Aurora/CC comms may just give them more opportunity to have fun with a situation. How about a specific jamming device, that disables all faxes and emergency messages (though not the emergency shuttle)? Make it work, in practice, similarly to the powersink: you have to find a place and set it up, and then just leave it online? It's big enough that people can find it and disable it, as they need to.
Serveris Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 If that happens again, PM me the names of the DOs and admins on at the time (both can be found with the staffwho command) and I'll make words. Regular players cannot see DOs on staffwho. You need a staff ranking for them to appear on the listing.
