Guest
BYOND Key: OneOneThreeEight Player Byond Key: OneOneThreeEight Staff involved: I didn't ahelp about myself, though I probably should've. Reason for complaint: Dosing a security officer with instantdeathchems in an autoinjector as a non-antagonist. Yeah, hi. Wanted to fess up for doing this to Redfield - Jim Calhoun. The round was RP-Rev, and my character at the time (Cidi) is a type of moralistic scientist. They believe there is a line that gets crossed at some point, and they were pretty perturbed at the fact the Research Director of the round was handing out weapons and tools of mass destruction to people who weren't using them for good. Given that two engineers were shot at for unknown reasons, and Cidi was in the middle of discussing with the RD of their failure to use foresight in their decision to give out guns. (Note, this discussion was just done in IC, and written off as such.) Once Cidi heard that Jim Calhoun shot someone, she decided to make a point to the Research Director that fighting fire with fire will only lead to more fire. As a result, Cidi went and gave Jim Calhoun a sneaky dose of chemicals and went on their way. Cidi then informed the frickin' frick of a Research Director of the consequences that will never be the same, and ended up getting their own come-uppance by way of their leg getting blown the fuck off. So, yeah. Just wanted to explain my actions as a non-antagonist for taking someone out of the round. I think I had sufficient enough IC reasoning to do so, and it was saddening that the round didn't have the moderator man-power to handle all the stuff that was going on that round. I wish I had gotten the chance to be a real boy rev, but I do think I didn't exactly help things with giving a killer a dose of the justice deathchems. Sorry if I created any salt on my own end. I plan on not furthering the end of self-antagonizing from this point onward, but I had assumed all the head revs were totally dead by roundstart. Garnascus
The questions i have are, what was the contents of this autoinjector? was any RP given to jim before hand? Link to comment
LetzShake
If this was the Rev game I was in... yeah this is super understandable, Here's the problem with RP Rev at large. I don't know how to solve it. The revs are NOT the antags, even if they're handled as antags. The heads and security are ultimately the antags. So is acting against them really self-antagging? And if it is, doesn't this mean the heads and security are self-antagging even harder because they're always happy to shoot and harmbaton anyone who they don't like and run the station into the ground?\ I was in that round, and even before I was brought into the revolutionary fold, I think I would've ended up fighting security in that round because they were behaving like absolute maniacs. TechnoKat
I uh, quite don't understand the real point of making complaints about yourself other than to show staff your sympathy.. Or to avoid the player doing so, dunno really. Delta, you've done these things in the past, if I were to be ganked/metagamed/powergamed whatever from you now, I wouldn't take your own complaint against yourself something to easen punishments and change my opinion about you. Why not just do your regular posting on the threads you get reported on? Link to comment

Why not just do your regular posting on the threads you get reported on? It's more along the lines of these few things: 1.) Taking responsibility for my own actions and acknowledging any consequences that come with making decisions that will make or break the round. 2.) Acknowledging that this sort of gameplay behavior isn't something I want other people to repeat after just because I did it and didn't get in trouble for it. 3.) Allowing other people to comment on this and open up a dialogue in case I self-antag again for the wrong reasons. 4.) Lets other people know that not everyone can follow the rules 100% of the time. Often, I feel like some of the rules get in the way of making gameplay decisions and can actually inhibit roleplay/gameplay. Link to comment
Redfield5
Quite ironically, Jim spent a portion of the round trying to convince the crew to get back to work through peaceful means, and had even intended to turn over evidence of the Command Staff's corruption over to the ERT. He had only fired in self-defense when Alexia West fired upon him for not listening to her rants, and when he had spotted the suspects who had bombed the Brig. To be honest, I'm not too torn up over what you did, 1138. You've always been a solid RP'er in my book, and I enjoy RP'ing with Vira. I see your point though, though it's not as bad as a rev destroying the atmos system of the station. Link to comment
Garnascus
It is unfortunate i think, delta but I feel as if coupled with your IIVreasoning and indeed red's post here I think its reasonable to chalk this up to an "oops". You aren't always neccesarrily violating a rule even if what you do is kinda....mean. Frankly I feel that's all that needs to be said here. I really don't think there's an60ything to apply a formal punishment to. If there's no further comments or concerns ill lock and archive this in 24 hours. Link to comment
