Jboy2000000
In Khajiit culture, they follow the human god Stendarr, although they call the god by a different name. Interestingly enough, they call him S'rendarr, the name of one of the sun gods in Tajaran lore. Was that on purpose, or a big coincidence? Quote Link to comment
Owen
Hmm... I don't think I have noticed it before. It probably was stolen Respectably borrowed honestly. Quote Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
90% of this game is pop culture references. I think s'randarr is older than Aurora. Maybe? Sue would know. Quote Link to comment
witchbells
Today is actually Ovank'a, a holiday celebrated in Hammerfell in dedication to Stendarr. Quote Link to comment

Guest
A direct quote from TES Wiki: The Khajiit religion, while quite different from that of men and mer, is still clearly derived from the old Aldmeri pantheon. The Khajiit creation myth includes references to powerful ancestor cats with strikingly familiar names. Their legends start with the original litter mates, Ahnurr and Fadomai (Anu and Padomay). These two gave birth to all of the great spiritual children, including Alkosh the first cat (Akatosh), Khenarthi (Kynareth), Magrus (Magnus), Mara, and S'rendarr (Stendarr). Secunda is the smaller of the two moons in orbit of Nirn, the other being Masser. Masser is the larger of the two moons of Nirn, and is red in color. Among the Khajiit, Masser, as well as Secunda, are revered because their lunar phase helps determine the forms Khajiit take at birth. Now a quote from our own wiki: There are a handful of faiths on Adhomai, but the majority religion is the worship of S'rendarr and Messa, the names of both suns in the Tajaran home system. So, considering the blatant name similarity between Messa and Messer, the S'rendarr import, fact both species are cats and that they worship planetary bodies, I think it's pretty safe to assume anyone that says these haven't been taken from TES is lying. Â Would you be terribly surprised if I told you the cats, in past Bay times which likely inspired/carried over somewhat into the current lore, were basically fetish inserts with lazily done writing that included arbitrarily tossed-in Elder Scrolls lore. I imagine it made a wonderful excuse for them to use Skyrim as a model to make their characters from. Quote Link to comment

Speaking as someone who was actually around during that time and knows the guy who literally made the original Tajaran sprites/lore/etc etc, this is actually a very massive lie. Carver
Feel free to educate us on why ripped TES lore was introduced, then. Quote Link to comment
Susan
Late, but - S'rendarr and Messa were the Tajaran deities on Bay when Mister Fox molded them from discarded fursuits and Meow Mix. I did not name them, nor did I feel the need to change some of the core Tajaran things - nearly everyone who knows of the Tajaran knows of their deities, and renaming them would cause unnecessary confusion. It's a reference, I guess, like half of the things in the game - it's harmless, I think. Quote Link to comment
