New Subforum - Lore Fluff

As far as I'm aware, we will be moving to a new forum soon. To this occasion I would like to suggest something which lack of has always sort of perplexed me. While we have a decent amount of subforums and thread dedicated to lore, characters and lore questions, the lack of a specific subforum for lore posts has always bothered me, namely, one where people can post their Aurora-lore related stories.

Maybe I'm just overly pedantic, but let's say that I want to make a post about unrest on a frontier planet, or a war story, or simply about life on Earth. It's not news, so it doesn't go there. It's not off-topic, so no. Not a lore app, or a lore question. Not for character database or syndicate database since it has nothing to do with either. It's lore fluff, so it's too trivial for General, and too specificlly tied to the game for the Hobby thread. Suggestion, fuck no. Where do I fit it?

I'm just saying, since we already are getting a new forum and the system always seemed chaotic (at least to me), I suggest we add that and maybe restructure the subforum designation system, as to what goes where.

This would be pretty cool. I feel like it would really help for charting out the waters of the universe in one central place, but there is an issue with this in the form of someone dropping in and making absolutely ridiculous lore. What mechanism would there be to prevent or deter attempts to do this?

Well, everything is semi-canon until the lore team canonize it directly. I guess shitty lote gets ridiculed by everyone out of existence.

What about the wiki? If it's life on earth, then just make a section on the page called Life on Earth (which I'm surprised this doesn't exist on its page yet), and you win. War story or unrest in a frontier world sounds like news. Boom, news.

It's not news if it's minor or past event, plus, the news is cluttered as it is.

Few words come to mind when reading this, and one of them is cluttered. I would fit more of it, but it's really, really fucking owerflowing with all sorts of information at this point. I can hardly fit anything else into it without risking the page exploding and adding extra pages for it is really unnecessary imo. Besides, not everyone has access to the forums or wants to use the dreadful lore canonization format to add shit to it.

No way, it serves no direct purpose other than be cluttered with written fluff and maybe lore discussions.

so I can make a post about my city on mars in the new subforum? I remember I PMd you about it when you were redoing mars lore but nothing ever came up from it (it was a real minor thing anyway, and fit the overarching theme of mars)

I did intergrate, it, sort of. Didn't name it, but there should be info about ruined cities somewhere in there. But I guess that's sorta off topic now.

If we're going to do this please leave the section locked to posts and threads only made by the lore team. If you want to canonize something there's already a section for it.

When it's finished the lore team can post it there.

Or maybe we just need a more flexible wiki.

Well, while Lore team would utilize it the most, I wouldn't want anyone that wants to be creative blocked off from it. Maybe just moderated would be enough?
