Tytos insists that the investigation into him was unfair because it called him a 'racist'. So I'm publishing all the records I got on it here. I dunno if this belongs here but w/e.

I CAN ALSO use this as a platform to discuss something:

Should Heads be racists? It's in his security records that he's being watched for 'hate crimes'.

In regards to Vittorio Giurifiglio

Giurifiglio has been an extremely racist, vulgar individual for all the time that I've known him. Professionally, he is negligent - To such an extent, that I was called in while off-duty to preform a surgery while he was ignorant, and no doctors were capable.

As to his profound, public vulgarity, he is well-known for his distasteful behavior towards females and profane jokes over public communications. He was and is outwardly racist to the point of using racial slurs publicly, and as a CMO as used his position to get away with things he normally would not and should not. I remember a very particular incident where he questioned a female skrell about her reproductive organs, after repeated requests from the woman to cease.

I have high suspicions that he used money to gain his rank. I acknowledge I lack certain documentation, but with Giurifiglio in the medical bay, I feel unsafe as a patient, a subordinate, and a woman.

Form 0208

Internal Affairs Individual Assessment

Facility: NSS Aurora

Date: 21FRI2456

Index: 001

Reporting Agent: Houssam Jawdat

Supervisor of the Assessed:

n/a

Full Name of the Assessed:

Vittorio Giurifiglio

Notable Behaviour:

Ordered arrest of doctor Veetara for telling 'Phoebe Essel' where doctor 'Lockie Green' was in medbay. During this he screamed, banged window, and said he would do a 'purge'.

Notable Actions:

Getting doctor arrested. Possible xenophobia.

General Opinion of the Assessed:

Shows immature behaviour, and angry outbursts. An inability to communicate effectively and use maturity in his decision making. His entire decision to hide Dr. Green from Essel was a 'lesson in manners' for 'sass'.

Agent Comments:

Vittorio got the doctor arrested for telling where Lockie was. Lockie was in a publically viewable recovery room. Security records show possible hate crimes against alien sentients, and the doctor he is having issues with is Unathi.Feels victimized by "bleeding ass hearted liberals" for his 'crack down' on 'dissent'. This behaviour and ideology is not, in this one's opinion, suitable for a Head in chage of a medbay. This one advises a reevaulation of his rank.

[08:31] Houssam Jawdat says, "Mhmm..."

[08:37] Houssam Jawdat asks, "What would this purrrge consist of?"

[09:48] Vittorio Giurifiglio says, "Insulting a Head of staff."

[10:38] Houssam Jawdat asks, "So you didn't botherrrr to communicate with yourrrr staff firrrst, but immediately demanded they be arrrrested?"

[11:15] Vittorio Giurifiglio says, "Sir, Let me state Disobeying the order was a lessar crime then the actual one."

[11:19] Vittorio Giurifiglio says, "That I was truely and utterly appalled at."

[11:27] Houssam Jawdat says, "Insulting a Head of Staff was the drrrropped charrrge."

[11:34] Vittorio Giurifiglio says, "It was not dropped."

This is brilliant.

Wait... we are being serious?

Very well, then - I haven't seen much of Giurifiglio in the role of CMO, but I can't deny that the glimpses of him that I caught were accompanied by great number of vulgarisms, to the point where I was suspicious to what extend it was the player's portrayal of Vittorio's character, and to what extend it was the player's inability to write a sentence without a "fuck" in it.

On the other issue - that of racism - yes. I believe that absolutely belongs in the game and does spice it up, if done properly (I'm not making any judgements of Tytos' approach, I've never noticed these tendencies, myself).

Although OOCly the CMO's role is to be somewhat of a moderator of his department, to a certain degree, I think we can all agree that in real life (or at least ICly), bosses are still just people, and there's a great number of pricks among them.

Having a rasist head is just as fine with me as having a racist janitor.

Which is not to discourage in-game action against him, such as this investigation. That's awesome. Also kind of the point of having a racist character.

I'm hotheaded as fuck, I swear because it's fun, I have done it so much I don't even view it as offensive anymore.

Well, you know we exchanged a few words about it in-game, and finding your explanation satisfactory, I didn't dig any further into it. So there's that.

Then again, just because you don't view it as offensive anymore doesn't mean that the others feel the same way.

Vittorio has been a very controversial CMO. My personal stance on this (again, personal, not the server's) is that such behavior (in-character, conductive to roleplay) can stand until disciplinary action is taken ICly.

Bosses are assholes IRL too, and people slip under the radar, get into positions of power, and say absolutely crazy shit from time to time. What would be immersion-breaking would be for such misconduct to be left running rampant. If Vittorio gets reprimanded enough as a CMO, it is his player's job to either rectify his conduct, or demote him as appropriate.

IMO, NanoTrasen promotes racism, as long as it's not Blatant. Only Humans can be captains, ERT or CentCom officials, heads are restricted that well connected and high successful non humans can become Heads of Staff. With that logic in mind, NT employees who are a bit racist are almost preferred by corporate, they'll discourage non humans and give them a hard time for having the audacity for wanting equal treatment, and generally make life hell for anyone who doesn't support the NT Terra Firma policy, to borrow from Mass Effect lingo.

As long as it's strictly IC and stays that way, I don't see a problem with it. Shouldn't be screaming hate speech over the coms, specially if another head or the Captain tells them to shut it, but a CMO giving a bunch of crappy duties to a Tajaran nurse or doctor and treating them like an intern is acceptable, or just harassing any civilian personnel that comes through, so long as they actually do their job and don't let them die, it's passable, if somewhat questionable.

I don't actually do that though..in fact I generally only insult Xeno-Freindly Humans

My views:

Okay, fine, the review process failed and you got in as someone you really shouldn't be in as (no, someone like that, in my opinion, should never service a command position, both ICly and OOCly). But once things start piling up, reviews like this, NT would take action. Now, they wouldn't exactly, perhaps, care about the nature of the charge, but they would care about maintaining an effective command staff. This means, one that doesn't need to constantly keep unfucking or firing one of its members.

And speaking OOCly, dealing with this can be annoying. It can be hell-a annoying when you sign up as a member of command staff, see the name on the manifest, and just go, "Right... Him again." It's a situation you would want to avoid, or at least have some avenue of action against (we are SUPPOSE to have IC complaint boards, but the dudes in charge of that have yet to produce results, so fine).

My investigation was supposed to get him fired, but the Heads of Staff had a tribunal and decided to keep him in his position. Internal Affairs did its job, but the end of this command structure is what failed - in the matter of getting Vittorio the boot.
