Alberyk
BYOND Key: Alberyk Character Names: Aaron Hawkins, Luctus, Sslazhir Yinzr, Raniyah Al-Hamddani/Mrravahrhe Al'Nazkhan, Amessha Ghassawy, Zairjah, Hasan Al-Mushin, Tarasque of Uueoa-Esa, Ajradah Al-Yahwa. Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character : Light Green. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: The Skrell is an interesting species mostly due to their society and history, being a really advanced race that put great importance in scientific advancement and logic, using those concepts to adapt their species to different situations. Their history is really fascinating, mostly the part of the Glorsh Rebellion, the fall of the skrell society and their later recovery. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Besides the skrell’s biology; their gelatinous-looking skin, black eyes, being an amphibious species, a longer longevity and the different diet, they are different from humans in several aspects. Other species think that the skrell are emotionless, mostly due to the way they express them and because the alien species are unable to fully understand their language and capture their sounds. The skrellian culture has a great emphasis in scientific advance, gender seems to don’t play an important role in their society, and there is a great distrust in relation to the use of artificial intelligences and synthetics as a whole due to historical reasons. Character Name: Lamushi Aulwana’Neyat Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Lamushi Aulwana’Neyat was born in Qerrbalak two years after the first contact with the humans. She was the result of the union of a skrell researcher and an officer of the Jargon navy, being the only off spring of the said couple due to the scars left by the genophage. Due to the nature of her father’s job, she moved while in her youth to a skrell colony, living inside a biodome due to the conditions of the planet itself. She always missed the swamps of her home world and wished that all colonies in skrellian space shared the same, instead of living inside domes. Lamushi choose the path of science later in her life, studying the field of botany and xebotany, focusing mostly in projects related to adapting vegetation to terraforming skrell colonies. She left the space of the Jargon federation due to increasing interest in studying the plants of Biesel and other human worlds and its relation with colonization. She joined NanoTrasen as a xenobotanist to further pursue such goals. What do you like about this character? She represents the common scientific drive of the skrell species while displaying features related to the skrell history and species, such as their will to adapt to different situations and colonial expansion to other worlds, while having a solid reason to be working with NanoTrasen as an employer. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I believe that my role playing abilities are not bad, and I do trust myself to create some interesting characters and situations as a roleplayer, and I did improve during all my time playing in the Aurora. Butterrobber202
Who are you +1 Yinzr is a great addition to the Aurora and I always get good RP vibs from him. Even though he now wields the Diamond Penis Spear of Overpowered Justice Link to comment
Loow
Another relative first! This app brings with it the first instance of a Skrell Application featuring "Navy brat" (as far as I can remember). If not, well it certainly feels new to me. This character seems to take a special focus on the theme of colonization and appears to be based in several solid Skrell ideals of intellectual growth. It's quite a change from the grizzled old miner of the old days and the pinnacle of Unathi robustness from recent memory. I'll also likely stop saying this on apps when it becomes too bothersome, but feel free to send me a message if you'd like to ask any Skrell questions or chat about your character. I always have little questions and comments or can make some up if needed. It can't hurt. Probably. This applications will be kept open for "several days or longer" before I make a decision. As always, I would like to hear/see/read feedback on Alberyk as a player, his characters, and anything else of that nature from any players who feel like sharing. Link to comment
ArcBot
I know I've had bad encounters with Zairjah, mainly him doing what ever the fuck he wants and not caring while in Research. Though recently when I see Zairjah in Research he has been a bit nicer, and actually helps out so I'll give you +1. You can roleplay, you just have a mean IPC who I'm not really fond of. Nanako
yeah, sure, why not. Seriously though, i don't know if it's just RP, but alberyk seems to be less robust when not yinzr. I want to see more nonyinzr. And it'll be fun to hear git gud from skrell gums Link to comment
Miruka
Although I have had limited interaction with his characters, Ajradah was a very interesting antagonist leader during a hectic round of Heist wherein Security forces and the raiders battled to the death across the station, and for me it was a memorable experience - he managed to keep us engaged the whole round with the House Al-Yahwa stuff even during the firefights. I'm new so my opinion may not count for much but +1, because I see potential. Link to comment
Loow
In the past, Alberyk has done a fine job of portraying characters in the manner he wishes to portray them. Having spoken briefly with Alberyk about his application, I can say that he has put thought into this character and looks forward to putting them on the station. A little constructive criticism and commentary on this application suggests that I'm not the only one who will be watching. Let's see how Dr. Aulwana’Neyat fits into her new habitat. Application Accepted. Link to comment
