Nanako Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 This news article made me think: http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?p=45753#p45753 Diona need biomass to grow. they like flesh. Why not make it so that they use up nutrution in order to regenerate health, and can't regen if they're starving. More people eating stuff is always good Since i'll be adding small-mob-eating to nymphs anyway, perhaps they could retain that ability in gestalt form too, allowing them to snack on little animals if they can't eat from the kitchen for some reason. we can give them an extra large tummy, and no penalties for overeating, so they can stuff lots of meat in there.
Carver Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 +1 Seems like a sound balancing idea, though I will say: we can give them an extra large tummy, and no penalties for overeating, so they can stuff lots of meat in there. This is the most disgusting thing I've read all week.
Bedshaped Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I've seen a nymph eat an entire Hydroponicist's shift work so I didn't think they had an overeating limit.
Killerhurtz Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 TL;DR no. Long story: Fuck no. The purpose of the nymph nutrition was to one, balance out the split power (because 200 ticks is arbitrary and cheap for people who go against it) and to provide mechanica justification as to how a cat-sized creature could morph up to be a man-sized thing. Grown gestalts do not need such nutrition as they have a sufficient body mass to absorb enough air to heal anything short of a limb being lopped off (can you even lop off a dionae arm? Ingame). At that point, energy is the biggest expense towards healing. The only reason we should allow gestalts to eat is to allow them to grow to bigger forms, and that is not something I want to happen normally (but that's a secret).
Dreamix Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 How about allowing Dionae to fed off the light? Making them slowly die in darkness, and heal in the light would be nice, too. Also, make grown Dionea spawn with flares in their backpacks/satchels. Oh, wait...
