LordPwner Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) Forum Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account:LordPwner Character Names: Uriel Evans, Oak Evans, Kelly Evans, Data: M:DG S:A 291 (Borg), Data: M:DG S:B 291 (pAI), Tye Davis, L/Tpr Knight Preferred means of contact: Discord, Skype, Steam, Youtube, (I can get you the names for the last three, but most of you probably know my discord around) Age: I am currently Fiveteen years of age, Almost Sixteen. Timezone: Central Time Zone How often do you visit/use our forums?: Almost Daily now Experience How long have you been with our community: I have been in the community for Four? Five months? Around that Do you have any experience in forum moderation or administration?: Yes I do, I've set my current MC Server's Website, and another one, and I have worked well with moderating issues. Also I have worked as Head Admin on a server that is currently up, and a Admin on others.. So I am pretty well with managing things. Have you ever been banned from our server or forum, and if so, how long and why?: I have not been banned yet.. I hope Never Past Administrative Experience:I've been in a Moderator, Admin, and Head-Admin across a few Minecraft servers, to help me learn some back management. I am currently at this time a Head-Admin of a MC servers, And it does not affect my ability to staff two different things at once. I also I'm the manager of the Forums for the server, since we use Engin it is not that hard, but it is rewarding. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I got back into SS13 because I really remember enjoying the game, and having a lot of fun for it. So I got back into and have not been disappointed Why do you play on Aurora?: I've been playing on Aurora because I've gone to about Five Servers since I got back into SS13 and its been the only one where I can actually have funs.. The others I would play and be murdered, Brigged, banned. etc. For no real reason, just for joining. What do moderators do?: Moderators safe guard the community, I would view them as a Royal Guard for the Server, to protect us, those who love to play here, from those who wish to Troll, Do chucklefuck things and the like. What does it mean to be a moderator for our community?: To be a Moderator of our Community is to uphold to a higher normal. Instead of being like a the basic player, to rise to something greater, to be something better Why do you want to be a moderator?: I wish to become a Moderator to uphold to this higher standard, to work harder, and help the server I adore to play on What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I can get my points across as I said, I'm informal which can be a good quality, its slightly hard for me to be formal, but in other news. I can construct my ideas and expand on them to fit the needs of that which is required. I'm hard working and do what is needed of me. I also try to be the best of me, that I can be. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I handle them very well... In years past it has not been the same way, but now a days, they are just words, they don't define me.. and Stress is a driving force.. it really does help me grow. Lastly Anger... I believe Anger is energy and how you use it is what makes it good or bad. I always try to use Anger to my advantage in a situation, as to burn off the energy, walking away calm. Anything Else You Want to Add: I have gotten many warnings, and I haven't always been the best player, I know of that. But, I do wish to also show I know what I'm talking about and I can do this, I'm not always the nicest, nor the most helpful, but God, I wanna give it a shot. Also, I am very extrovert and that shines in my character, Uriel Evans. Its who I am, I can't help but talk to people. Sometimes I don't think too well before I say something to someone, but I am working on getting better with that. I do hope that I could be a useful member to the Administrative/Moderator Team as a whole. Thank you very much. Also, I have added in my Past Experience as Staff on servers ~ LordPwner Edited June 6, 2016 by Guest
Garnascus Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I have reservations. you occasionally clash with the rules and IC conduct with your captain. im concerned you might be heavy handed in dealing with issues, can i trust you to make a judgement call based on context?
LordPwner Posted June 1, 2016 Author Posted June 1, 2016 I have reservations. you occasionally clash with the rules and IC conduct with your captain. im concerned you might be heavy handed in dealing with issues, can i trust you to make a judgement call based on context? As I admit, I clash with rules and IC conduct more than I should, I am quite well at making judgement. As a example for SBC This is our punishment systemm/Guideline: Punishment System Will Follow Suit: Warn, Kick (Warns Everyone) , 5 minute Mute, 10 minute mute, 30 minute Mute , 1h Jail/Mute (Jail name is jail1), 6h Jail/Mute, 12h Jail/Mute, 1 Day Temp Ban, 3.5 Day Temp Ban, 1 Week temp Ban, 1 Month Temp ban, 2 Month temp Ban, *Ask higher ranking staff if you're confused on what punishment to use* If they keep breaking the same rules, and some rules jump up higher than on the board, Like using Hacked Clients/Cheats is perm ban. But most of the time. I lessen these punishments because some people for them its hard to understand, Like for our server we had this one Dutch guy. He couldn't read much English,so we gave him a bit lessened punishments. When The Owner got online, He explained to him why, He was kicked, etc. So I do believe I will be able to make wise and informed judgments, based on context and the information I am given at the time. Edit: Also, With the Heavy handedness, I get caught up in the video game, and focus, but when something needs my attention, like a duty, something irl, etc. I can pull myself out of that game.
Garnascus Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Good reply, i think you're sincere. One final thing though and something a lot of prospective staff have to learn the hard way. you play a lot, you also play captain quite a bit. Understand that if you become a mod it WILL affect your gameplay. You will know every single round what the antags are and who the antags are. You will see the logs of urist mcrobust devouring all of science, you will see the log of baldy mctraitor planting and detonating a bomb at the armory. You will know pretty much everything that is going on during the round at all times. Its not something i expect you to have a strong answer for you mind you, i am interested in your thoughts on the matter.

I do understand this, and I knew it would affect my gameplay, but I am able to cut my modship out of my gameplay. During Game Actions, My IC will be the only thing affecting my choices, and I would probably get a good chuckle as the mctraitor of the year blows a bomb in the armory. Firstly because I am in not in the armory. I believe while it would affect my gameplay. It would not stop me nor my character from basing our choices off what we know IC only, Cutting my Knowledge out of the issue at hand. Edit: And While I still get slightly angry and stressed when dumb stuff happens, I still try to learn from it, and build on it, IC and OOC.

Muncorn Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 So, yeah, I'll happily +1 this. I can't vouch for his capabilities at all, but from what I've seen in my short time here he's dependable and plays constantly, and he's not a shitler. Combined together, he should be excellent staff material.
Taintedglory Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Pwner has always been enjoyable for me to RP with ingame, so... Also in OOC stuff he is alot of fun to chat with, I think he can do it. I see the potential. I SEE GREATNESS. I SEE... Well I see him burning out and have a tough time dealing with not Cyroing every five seconds, but I think he could handle it over time. +1
ArcBot Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Cool guy all around, seems like he loves to improve his role-playing when he gets criticism from other players. He should definitely have a chance of being a trial moderator. +1
Garnascus Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Trial initiated on 6/6/2016. This trial will continue until 7/6/2016 and then a final decision will be made. Feel free to post any feedback about Lordpwner's moderating on this app.
Serveris Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Trial extended by two weeks, as of 7/8/2016 due to real life complications at the time. Trial will be up for round two of evaluations on 7/22/2016.
LordPwner Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 Question, if I may, Will I ever be told why my rank was removed, what did I do that did not seem unsatisfactory to standards? Because I haven't been told a thing. Even last time I got on with both H-Admins and other Mods, I wasn't messaged, I wasn't told anything. If it was the case I was overly denied. My next question is why is my app still open and not archived?
Serveris Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Apologies. I ended up having a lot of stuff fall into my lap the past couple weeks, including the sudden requirement for me to take a 20 hour drive cross country, and as such, completely forgot about this. Following discussion with the other administrators and select moderators, it was decided that the application was to be denied, following an unsuccessful trial, due largely impart to perceived inactivity on your part. Many members of staff were unable to give positive reviews towards your trial, and a marginal amount cited discomfort given your attitude passed off in PMs, as well as server relations. Totally my fault forgetting to archive and lock this officially, it should've been done weeks ago. My apologies, but please do not let this discourage you from trying again in the future. You will be permitted to submit a new application one month from today.
