Juani2400
Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: Juani2400 Character Name(s): Azra Kouri (Chief Medical Doctor - Main). Ibrahim Al-Enezi (Engine Technician - Main). Laetitia Romilly (Captain - Semi-Main). Alexander Harris (Security Officer - Alt). Lea Fontaine (Station Engineer - Alt) AI Name(s): C.B.N. Preferred means of contact: Forum PM, Discord, Skype. Age: Nineteen (19). Timezone: GMT +1 (British Summer Time) When are you on Aurora?: I'm normally on during peak times at the afternoon/evening, starting my play at around 19:00 until -normally- 02:30. I also play sometimes at around 14:00. Experience How long have you played SS13?: I started playing SS13 four years ago, with around a year and half of break. How long have you played on Aurora: While I don't remember the date I joined Aurora, I would say I have been playing for around six months, in total. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Due to the time I have been playing SS13, always on the Baystation build, I master a good percentage of the game's mechanics, except those that belong to the Science department, as it's something I never play as. However, due to my break, I've had to adapt to the new developments that have occurred and there may be some things I still don't know. I still learn a few things from time to time. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: My experience in the moderating wold is not too big. I used to be a part of the administration team (Basic Administrator) of a Spanish-speaking SS13 server a long time ago. I also co-own a public-open apartments server that opens during general vacation periods in which I hold the position of Head Administrator and take care of all the administration-related issues. I also have experience in other projects and games, where I have had high management positions. I do not hold any positions at the moment. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I have never been banned on Aurora or in any other SS13's server. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play SS13 because it's a game that can give you a lot of variety among different rounds. I also love the fact that it has so many mechanics in it. It's entertaining, fun, and it takes a lot of time to get tired of it, as new things are always happening and new mechanics are being coded in. It's a game that's alive, even though it's quite old. Why do you play on Aurora?: I have been playing Space Station 13 for, at least, four years now, with maybe a one-year break in between. When I started playing, I didn't really enjoy SS13 that much, not because of the mechanics -which I loved and still do-, but because of the craziness of the servers. It was a few months later that I found a Heavy RP server and started playing on it, and kept playing it for quite a long time. Then I took my break, and when I came back, that server had disappeared. It was then that I started my search for a good server that would satisfy my HRP needs. It was then that I found Aurora, and started playing frequently here. What do moderators do?: Moderators are tasked with assisting the server's population and administration. Moderators resolve questions of players about mechanics, watch over people's roleplay, ensuring it's of enough quality. They also assist the administrators in any way possible and reporting any rules breakage or non-RP actions. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: It would honestly mean a lot. I tried applying for moderator in the server I used to play, and my application was accepted but I had to wait until there were openings. I stopped playing SS13, for a break due to IRL matters, and it never happened. I would love to be a moderator of a decent-sized server like this, as I love resolving questions and issues. Why do you want to be a moderator?: As I mentioned, I really enjoy answering questions and solving issues, and always had. My objective would be to become an administrator of the server, one day, but I'm of the firm belief that everyone needs to go through a gradual increase of responsibility, and that's why I'm applying for moderator. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: The main quality that made me apply into the moderation team is that I know how my personality is and how useful it could be when moderating. I'm a very calm person, very rational and fair, as I like hearing both sides of the story and don't act without having investigated the issue at depth and know what really happened. If I can't find anything or the proof isn't enough, I just apply the presumption of innocence with a verbal warning to all the people involved. However, I also tend to be a slow person, as I take my time to think what I'm going to write or do, and that's probably one of my biggest cons I'm aware of. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: As I mentioned, I qualify myself as a very calm person and I don't get easily stressed or angry. I'm very used to dealing with angry people and I think diplomacy is the key to success there. Anything Else You Want to Add: I'm aware that I'm not very known among the people here, but that's mainly because I normally stay away from OOC or posting in the forums. Even though I don't post anything, I'm always checking and reading the forums and I'm aware of most of the issues that people bring up. Link to comment

LordRaven001
Juani is a mixed candidate for Moderatorship, In my situation where I was arrested by Vira Taryk and put into HuT for closing a shutters to stop the hail of gunfire into my kitchen, When I ahelped he was not helpful at all, It took around 20-30 seconds for my ahelp to be even picked up (When there is 10 staff members on, 4 Admins and 6 Moderators, He then refused to give me the names of witnesses who apparently "Saw" me stand directly in the way of laserfire so I could document them on the upcoming admin complaint i'm going to file on him. When both the Logs and two witnesses contested that, Over-all I feel he is overly pressured by friendship and personal bias, He has a desire to fit in and he sacrifice's being unbiased to fulfill that desire. If he works on being unbiased I think he would be a decent candidate for the Moderator position, But as it stands right now I fully disagree with the way he acts and I think it is unbecoming of a Trial moderator. The witness was a moderator who was watching the scene. By your attitude, you were clearly looking for someone to blame about me not taking any actions. You asked me if the moderator who saw the scene were certain persons who were online at that time, because you 'knew' they were biased against you, besides being blatantly rude to the reported player when you PM'd me. Your attitude was not right, and I acted lawfully at all times, being supported by the rest of Administrators and Moderators on at that time. So far, I have only treated with you once in my entire trial, and I do not think this situation gave you such a general perspective about me being 'biased', 'pressured by friendship', to know if I am or not a decent Trial Moderator or to even know if I have or not a desire 'to fit'. Thank you for the feedback. EDIT: I have the full list of administrators and moderators who gave their opinion on this when it happened. It will be disclosed upon contact, if needed. Link to comment

I was one of the witnessing staff here, the situation was handled well on Juani's part, no bias came into play. Not so much on the other end, however. PM: Juani2400 to LordRaven001: All of the witnesses who were in the scene support the 1138's side of the story. No OOC action will be taken. PM: LordRaven001 to Juani2400: What witnesses? 1138, Richard Evans and I were the only ones there... PM: Juani2400 to LordRaven001: A moderator was watching the scene. PM: LordRaven001 to Juani2400: If it was Alberyk or NursieKitty, They both have a personal bias against me from last round. PM: Juani2400 to LordRaven001: No. The decision is final, also. Deal with it ICly if you think it's unfair. PM: LordRaven001 to Juani2400: I would like the Moderators name who witnessed these events please. PM: Juani2400 to LordRaven001: I am not disclosing their name, I'm afraid. They have little to do with the situation, anyways. PM: LordRaven001 to Juani2400: Then I will just add refusing to disclose witnesses to your Admin complaint that I intend to file to overturn your decision. PM: Juani2400 to LordRaven001: It is an internal thing. You can go ahead with the report, though. PM: LordRaven001 to Juani2400: I will, I will also be posting feedback on your Trial Moderator application disclosing this event, After the round of course. PM: Juani2400 to LordRaven001: I need the witnesses, and I get the statements to make a decission. Under no circumstances I have to disclose player Ckeys to you. Game ID: bWOWVf Moving on to feedback in general, Juani's a promising trialmod, and I'm sure most people agree with me here. Going very well so far. Link to comment
