Arzion Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 As the title says. I've actually made the antag drone suggestions on another thread, so I'll copypaste them here and see what people think about the things. (Disclaimer : Antag Maint Drone module additions are left at the discretion of staff) - A laser weapon - A weaker version of the Ninja's APC drain ability so that they can recharge their power - Vent crawl - RCD - Internal Destructive Analyzer (Could instead be used to get rid of weaponry and additional things) - Increased battery power - Internal recharger (Recharges materials at the expense of battery power. Toggled on or off) - Mobility Module (Works like Combat Robot's mobility module) (Rolling maintenance drone sprite required) - Inability to be destroyed via carding - Moderate EMP shielding (Reduces EMP stun duration and power drain by 50%) What do you guys say about the suggestions? Feedback, opinions etc. are appreciated.

Arzion Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 Antagonist drones would still be a cool thing. Serve more of a role akin to glass cannons, being able to destroy rapidly but easily be destroyed in the process. It takes one or 2 laser carbine shots to actually kill a maintenance drone.

Traitor maintenance drones are being kept. Sadly traitor mice are not That said, traitor drones are incredibly powerful, i played one once. The sheer variety of tools you have (more than an engiborg iirc) gives alot of flexibility, plus the tiny size and disposal travel makes escaping incredibly easy. You're not even tied to an AI, so people can't easily check and find out you're unbound or broken. You can't speak, so not communicating with the crew isnt considered unusual, and nobody really suspects a drone. You're lawed against interaction, so people can't give you orders or ask you to state your laws. Following anyone's orders is technically a violation of your laws normally, so you can be expected to casually ignore everyone and just do your thing. The ability to move between rooms without spreading gases opens up a lot more atmospherics trickery, and you can do some really fun stuff like going into a maintenance hatch and building a table inside the door, which allows you to pass through easily, but will block anyone else for quite a while. Simply hiding inside hatches is also possible, after they close you're completely invisible Their only weakness as far as i can tell is the camera link. If people realise you're malfunctioning and get your drone ID number, then AI and security can track you effortlessly.

Traitor maint drone, two possibilities: - Drone is a silent never-to-be seen chucklefuck that breaks shit. It's like a griefing baldie, except that you can't catch it, and don't know who is griefing. The crew is forced to search for someone, but they can't meta-valid any drones (and that would be gank, because drones have laws they can't break). - Or, the drone goes loud and tries something fun. Buuuuut, the drone breaks it's law about interaction with crew, and is a valid for the crew. It's just fun for the drone player, who can have endless and uninterrupted fun with their instant no-effort all-access and various tools ready-to-fuck with atmospherics and power. At the expense of the crew, of course. The silent-griefer-type of drone could as well be a random event that breaks shit. Or else, what can you do, that is fun for everyone and provides everyone with more interesting roleplay than a normal traitor? Or, you just want to make legitemate drones valids for everyone, because some drones were shitty traitors? I won't even be starting on the actual suggestion, about adding random overpowered shit for the easiest-to-play all-access role.
Shadow Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Yes, I did not know maintance drone traitors are a thing. If they already were a thing then we can keep them. Blame me for not knowing.
