TrickingTrapster Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 So, this just came to me out of the blue, but what if we implemented group chat into the PDA's? So you can send messages to more than one person at the same time. Not sure how viable this is for the coders, but it's certainly an idea. Maybe even go with invites and stuff, so you can add more and more people into the same group chat.
Guest Complete Garbage Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I honestly have no idea how implementable this would be, but if it's possible and workable enough not to fuck anything else up, I'd be all for it.
Mofo1995 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 This sounds like an overall really neat idea. I can think of a few times when I had to PDA multiple people the same thing.
DatBerry Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 polaris has a department relay that you PDA and it would send a copy to all PDAs in the department, we can import that, but its not exactly what trap wants, there used to be a NT relay kind of like a chatroom system on TG, no idea if its still around, you type in channel name and choose a custom name, and chat with the people in the same channel name, and pretty secure, unless a PDA gets caught, can be useful for team antags like cult or if other station antags team up.
TrickingTrapster Posted August 31, 2016 Author Posted August 31, 2016 Maybe you could copy a bit of code over from the fax machines. You can notify PDA's of things: Just add the PDA's you want to send to to the list, and type the message. I don't know, I'm not a coder.
Arrow768 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 If I remember correctly modular computers from bay have a downloadable application that offers chat rooms, ... Modular computers will be ported sooner or later
Pyrociraptor Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Admit it, you mostly want it for your mute Engineering Apprentice, don't you? On a more serious note, We need it. It could allow people from different departments to speak to each other without spamming the common channel or stealing others department headsets.
