Reason for complaint: Intentionally attacked me on the escape shuttle after round-end without being an antagonist (or having a reason at all.)

Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes; was told to wait, followed by instruction to type up a complaint.

Approximate Date/Time: 11/22/2016, approx. 1am.

Additional: In a nutshell, on the escape shuttle, the detective (not an antagonist) threw a revolver at me and demanded I play russian roulette with them - and promptly threatened me with another gun if I did not comply. I, of course, did nothing - and was rewarded for my patience by the entire clip being emptied into me. Due to the gun I had being empty all except for one round, my attempt at self-defense was limited to a pitiful clicking - and when the detective dropped the gun they were holding because the head of security (LordRaven001) fired on them repeatedly, I moved to pick it up so they couldn't use it any more. LordRaven001 then decided it was appropriate to empty an entire clip into me and send me into critical. ShameOnTurtles believed that my being fired upon was an accident, but the following lines from LordRaven in OOC after a brief confrontation lead me to believe otherwise:

Hey uh, You forgot to post the part where I saved both of your lives. Oh and the part where you constantly harassed me in OOC and spammed insult after insult at me, Like the good ol classic line "You should have lost the race to your mothers egg >:I" Which makes your point of calling me "unbecoming" laughable. As you couldn't even make a sentence without an insult or two. I am positive you made this complaint when you got really salty which will make it easier to prove my innocence as salty is another term for both your amygdala being active, And people don't think straight when they are angry. But putting the useless technicality's behind.

I was sitting in the shuttle eating a ration pack when my detective fired upon you as you returned fire (With a weapon you shouldn't have had) I then read up in the conversation and saw my detective fired upon you first, As such I shot the detective into crit ending the situation there. I then turned my gun on you and was about to order you to drop it. Then guess what you did? Oh thats right, You picked up their gun like a duel wielding madman and then hit them with the revolver when they were gasping in crit, So in order to save my detectives life I shot you into crit too. Do you know what I did after that? Oh that's right, I willingly saved both of your lives. Which you made a statement in ooc saying "Are you sure you didn't just save my life because the admins told you to" That is when I replied "I should have executed you :^)" because you turned into an ungrateful insult spamming cunt in ooc.

Lets not forget to mention the lack of fearRP being gunned down by a fully lethal revolver, or the lack of roleplay when you started duel wielding revolvers while bleeding out of six holes in your body. Or you deciding to break the "Don't be a dick rule" numerous times. I'll have an admin pull the logs of what you said in OOC as you took two random statements of mine and paired them without backing or basis. Then it will prove my mild retaliation was justified. I could have said worse but I restrained myself on the basis of trying to be a good person. When this complaint is over I have a full intention of filing a complaint on you due to your harassment and insults in OOC. This server does not need any more toxic assholes who can't handle a video game, Sorry love.

Right. I'll be handling this complaint.

I can see this shooting as kind of an accident, given the heat of the situation, and LordRaven not clearly understanding what was going on and/or why were you picking up the detective's revolver, which is completely normal. I will, however, discuss this with the moderation team in order to get more feedback before making a decision.

There was also an evident lack of common courtesy between you two in the OOC channel, which is what really worries me. OOC is not a place to argue, blame or insult anyone, nor is any of the several OOC channels we have in the server. I will also bring this up in the moderation chat for discussion.

Witnesses' statements and further contributions to the report are appreciated as long as you abide by the sub-forum's rules. I should have a response to this shortly.

I'd accidentally hit him once, maybe twice before you elected to begin spraying me with bullets - and I attempted to run away without retaliating once I had custody of both weapons. No disarm attempt, no less-lethal attempt (despite the fact I was not wearing sunglasses - and not attacking you to boot) You went immediately for a lethal option against a series of low-damage accidental butts with the end of a gun. As a whitelisted player, you should be familiar with how force should be escalated in situations like that - and you failed to escalate even remotely appropriately. Ergo, my complaint, and my assertion that you're unfit for the role.

To be absolutely clear - this complaint is not because you shot me. This complaint is because you thought it was a completely okay thing to happen, even after reviewing it after the fact.

 

So in order to save my detectives life I shot you into crit too. Do you know what I did after that? Oh that's right, I willingly saved both of your lives. Which you made a statement in ooc saying "Are you sure you didn't just save my life because the admins told you to" That is when I replied "I should have executed you :^)" because you turned into an ungrateful insult spamming cunt in ooc.

What you did afterwards is irrelevant; the fact remains that you overreacted - severely - and you're still unwilling to admit it, and even after you've could have used time to cool off, you're still tossing around insults.

If you see end-of-round grief by a non-traitor on the shuttle because I refused to play Russian roulette as legitimate roleplay that I should act scared of, rather than ahelping it immediately, then you're only supporting my earlier assertions that you really don't understand the type of roleplay the server is trying to foster at all - and by extension, don't understand the responsibilities of being a whitelisted player.

While we're on the topic of dicks - what I find particularly offensive is that you seem to think replacing an N with an L means that repeating "ligger" over and over again is perfectly alright. You can include racial bias in your roleplay without using slurs that are very close to those you'd find in real life - hell, human supremacy tends to be part of my thing because of how much conflict of the good kind it tends to create - but you can be more creative than that, if that's truly your intent.

 

When this complaint is over I have a full intention of filing a complaint on you due to your harassment and insults in OOC. This server does not need any more toxic assholes who can't handle a video game, Sorry love.

You're certainly welcome to try - if we took action against people for calling each other names, though, I predict our player count wouldn't reach double digits.

You must not understand the rules of our server, Do you want me to charge at people with a flash if they don't have sunglasses and they have two guns? Do you expect me not to shoot you after you just gunned down a Detective of my security team? Lets not forget the fact that I didn't open fire on you until you bashed him with a gun (Which according to the codebase does brute damage and can really kill someone) I'm not going to presume you "misclicked" hitting him after you fired six bullets into him then started duel wielding his guns. This is a character complaint not an incident report don't think you can get out of it by lying and trying to make me look bad.

And if you want to talk about what the server is trying to foster. Lets talk about your attack in OOC and your blatant disrespect for the server rules both OOC and on the forums. This server is trying to foster a positive attitude, And players like you who burst into OOC and insult someone for a misunderstanding shouldn't play here. Control your salt or disable OOC all together, Just because you got gunned down for murdering a man in "Self defense" doesn't mean you can take it out of IC and spam OOC with insults, It only makes you look petty and ignorant of others. Now to prevent any controversy on this forum thread I will stop replying until an administrator/staff member directs a question towards me or the judgement is made, I do apologize for this misunderstanding but not for the words I directed at you. Though I did stoop to your level of name calling I do not regret what I said. My only advice is next time let yourself be killed on the shuttle instead of firing back and ahelp.

I also didn't read any of the conversation the Detective said about you as I was working on my skrellian app, So from what I saw there was a random gunbattle between a member of security, and a character that has a known history of committing crimes and being a thug.

This is all starting to make far more sense. You jumped into something you didn't fully understand - the entirety of which could have been avoided, I suspect. Let me recount things from my perspective in the most concise form I can, so you can see where my irritation stems from.

 

2. I arrive on the shuttle after saving the detective from a gun battle with an engineer.
4. The detective places a single round into his revolver, spins the cylinder, and pulls the trigger while the gun is against his head. It clicks.
   
6. He throws the gun at me and demands I put it to my head and pull the trigger. I only ever had a weapon because he tossed it at me (and even if I did, IC law is not server law.)
   
8. I begin ahelping - that's when he pulls a second gun out and targets me.
   
10. I tell him that's probably not a good idea on the shuttle, to which he opens fire (and probably gets all six shots off.) At this point, I'm still buckled into my chair and have done nothing in response.
    
12. I suspect he's going to attempt to reload, so I keep clicking him until the last bullet from the gun I have hits him (or not, I don't even remember if it actually hit him.)
    
14. You enter at this point and shot him a few times, at which point I got out of my seat and began to disarm him.
    
16. I see the gun fall on the ground. In retrospect, this could have been because he was now in critical, or because of my disarm. I couldn't tell, so I tried to pick up the gun as quickly as I could.
    
18. I realize I'd misclicked and done so with the wrong hand, so I switch to my empty hand and pick up the gun. You begin shooting me.
    
20. I resist the urge to retaliate, and I die (or at least go into critical condition) as a result.

 

It was my assumption that you fully understood the situation, ergo my statements about a severe lack of intelligence. You never stated you weren't paying attention until just now, which is something I completely understand (as I've done it plenty of times myself.) Can you see why I might be a bit miffed that you'd gun me down on the shuttle?

We have discussed this in the Moderation chat, and we have decided not to take any actions against what happened with all the shooting. We, however, don't see that attitude over OOC as appropriate, and action will be taken for this against both of you.
