UnknownMurder Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Ever wanted to become a famous scientist for round/shift because you discovered either a new atomic theory that actually works, a new gyroscope mechanics, or even how the light behaves differently that no one has even thought up before and be applauded by Research Director, or even host a research program. I believe it is safe to say at this point, continuous product of the same inventories tends to get a lot more boring. "Why are we producing this again and again, and yet no one applauds me for my discovery of a hyper-cell on this station?" Believe me, I'm sure it has been getting boring. I propose a suggestion to insert a device or new science wibbly wobbly timey wimey that appears to be new and disproved a theory a lore scientist set. My mind is not full sophisticated scientific information. So, I leave this imagination to the community, to the science people. An example would be: Isaac Newton discovering Newton's Law of Motion Albert Einstein discovering Theory of Relatively Stephen Hawking discovering Hawking Radiation
Chada1 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 To be fair, most of the more basic stuff can be generated in the Cargo Warehouse, implying it was never meant to be invented, so much as developed. Also, UM. This suggestion kinda overlaps with a certain future set of features that're in planning, I think. Nanakos Science overhaul. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7485 The reason it overlaps, is that it'll force a Scientific progression system. Though, I will say, it won't allow Scientists to be famous, but it may allow them to be recognised by the Research Director, Captain, or otherwise. And have an impact on future rounds, with their actions in the previous round.
Pyrociraptor Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Wait hold the fuck on and buckle up, is this proposition basically telling me to rev my Pseudo-science back up and kick the fuck out of these lowRP scientists ? Sign me up, UM. But how does that work exactly?
