Gollee Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Telaya turns and hurls a blade at the back of one of the attacking drunks, smiling with satisfaction as it hits home with a wet thunk, before taking a last draft from her drink, and standing up. Quote
Valkrae Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 The giant man let out a loud roar and he swung his axe into a drunk running at him. The drunk flew left of him, and into a wall of the tavern, leaving a hole in the wall. He charged towards another, planting a foot in the mans chest, knocking him to the ground. He laughed heartily, and held his arms out. "Come on you dreadful ingrates! If it is a fight to be had, so be it!" Quote
canon35 Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Satisfied with the looted contents of the book, Skrag takes a tankard of ale that was on the table and sits down. He begins to smile and drink it, watching the bar fight. Quote
Guest Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 ((Idk if the GM decides events like these, but I just wanted to speed up the tavern scene)) On the table behind Bernhard, interupted in their game of dice, a group of patrons were watching the barfight, when one of them quickly grabbed most of the junk and coins off the table and attempted to make a run for it. However, he tripped over Bernhard's leg and dropped on the floor spilling the loot around. In an instant, a horde of patrons dashed to the floor in an attempt to steal it. The thief, with burning hate in his eyes, glared at Bernhard and jumped at him once he was off the floor. Bernhard attempted to dash away toward the back of the bar to escape him. Quote
Farcry11 Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Jacques could see the fight was quickly spiraling out of control, with more and more ruffians joining the fray. Suddenly, something of value spilled onto the floor elsewhere in the bar, and the patrons became a massive, screaming throng. The French lord saw his chance, and made a dash for the establishment's back door, shouting: "All of you that want good pay for your work, with me!" When he reached the back door, he spied a thug running after a somewhat scholarly looking man. Jacques slammed his side guard in to the thug's head, leaving him sprawled out on the ground as he followed the scholar out the back door. Quote
canon35 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Skrag rolls his eyes behind his snowgoggles as the fight begins to grow out of control. With one last gulp and a sigh, he walks towards the front door of the bar. Before leaving, however, he quickly stabs a russian drunk with a hand-full of valuble coins and grabs as many as he can whilst the man drops them in pain. After walking out the front, he begins to walk to the back while unscrewing his canteen and splashing his bloody hand with water. Quote
Gollee Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Telaya slips through the crowd, yanking her dagger out of the back of the unfortunate drunk before quickly leaving through the front door. Quote
Hackie Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 ((Sorry about being late sweety-pies. Gonna join in right now!)) Name: Toussaint Faure Age: 43 Physical Description: This grimy and dirty man has a rugged look to him, his eyes are concealed under a cloth blindfold. His coat light is light and obviously there for fashion, more than protection from the elements. The coat is a dark brown, with multiple claw marks repaired somewhat poorly, with bits of hide and fur. He has a small bag held with some rope on his shoulders, resting on his back, held by his right hand. His clothes beneath the coat are that of the stereotypical commoner, a linen shirt and some pants held together with a leather belt. A coin purse hangs from the belt. There's a bulge in the lower back of his coat, it appears to be a shortbow and a crossbow, held together with a makeshift holster made from rope. There's two pockets of crossbow bolts and small arrows. His voice is a thick, french accent with a very blithe tone to it. His hair is shaved on the sides of his head, only leaving a small bush at the top. He has poorly maintained teeth, and his breath smells of alcohol and raw meat. Home Fiefdom: French Profession: Poacher Backstory: Toussaint is a poacher from the fiefdom of France. He grew in the wilds with an old sage who had adopted him as a child. The man had no name or never told him of it. He doesn't know his real age, considering his parent never kept track of it, he blindly assumes that he's 30 years old and many accept it as such. He has spent most of his life in the woods of the fiefdom, stealing prey from the king and caring for his father. Unlike most hunters, he was on the prowl at night, due to his heightened senses from the Diabolus Visus mark; killing prey as they slept. The crossbow was an invention his father stole in order to teach him the basics of hunting, when he was much younger and able to care for Toussaint. The shortbow is a tool he had learned to use when bolts were hard to find, flint, sinew and a good stick could be used to take down his prey. His parents had apparently abandoned him in the woods for his devil mark, an omen that they refused to have their family name disgraced. Toussaint's name comes from the first time he had hunted human prey, a bandit looking to rob his adoptive father of few possessions; Toussaint had a conversation with the dying bandit, in french of course, they discussed what it was like living in the city and having a family, before he stuck a bolt through his skull of course. After the death of his father and wildlife becoming more scarce by his home, he took up wandering and poaching, eventually coming to the capital city of Russia. There, he learned how to speak Russian and German by offering French traders hides and furs from animals in exchange for lessons. He now pretends to be a beggar in the streets, majority not noticing his firepower hidden behind his back. Quote
Hackie Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 In the alley of the establishment, a man vomits in the corner, his coat appears to lying on the ground. Heavy weaponry is exposed on his back and he turns to the french gentlemen barging through the backdoor. He then quickly runs for his coat to hide his weapons. But, in his sick and poor condition he trips. The man quickly grabs his crossbow and aims it at a drunk, he says, "Who the hell are you? I will grab a baguette and shove it so far up your ass if you don't tell me what the hell happened in the bar!" He stares at the drunk, obviously thinking he's the one who left the bar. The drunkard stares at him blankly before a bolt punctures his neck and pins him against the wall; it kills the drunkard instantly. The man vomits on the floor and drops his crossbow, he falls against the wall and stares at the two blurry figures. Quote
Valkrae Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 The giant lordling that first came to Jacuques' defense rushed after him, smacking yet another drunk aside with a simple bat of his hand. He needed the money, as even though he was a lordling, he had amassed a substantial debt. Quote
Guest Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 As he was catching his breath in the back, Bernhard heard someone talk, followed by hissing of a bolt and a loud thump. He turned around to the drunk and said in french, still trying to catch his breath. "What... what in the... what do you think that happened? It's... it was a tavern fight!" After a pause, he turned to Jacques and said in an apologetic tone. "My lord, you should leave in case the guards arrive. They won't look kindly to French nobility starting fights here." Quote
Valkrae Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 "You are with me! Lord Vasili! They will not touch you." The large man laughed heartily, and patted the Frenchmen on the back. "Come! We go to my home!" He said, seeming to push them with his hand. Quote
Gollee Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Telaya steps out with the men, cleaning her dagger on a scrap of cloth, then rearranging her light furs around her shoulders. Quote
canon35 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Skrag, adjusting the snow goggles on his eyes, walks up to Jacques and asks "Wot kind da' pay we talkin' about?". Quote
Farcry11 Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Jacques looks about himself, quickly surrounded by potential companions. He holds a hand up to the assembly for a moment, looking at the not-so-blind drunk crawling about aimlessly on the alley floor. He snatches up the man's discarded crossbow and looks to the massive axeman, requesting in rudimentary Russian: "Friend, take the blind drunkard and make sure he doesn't run." Turning to the rest of the gathered travelers (including the somewhat bedraggled and bewildered scholar), he spoke again in Russian. "We retire to our noble friend's home. There we will discuss matters of work and pay. Let's be off before the city guard descends on this wretched place!" Jacques watches as the Russian warrior reluctantly scoops up the blind beggar, who puts up a frail resistance and mumbles something in gibberish French. The group would do well to be off soon, lest they all end up on the gallows for murder and disturbance of the peace. Quote
Valkrae Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 He scooped up the blind man, and headed off towards his home, up a hill, towards a particularly menacing looking castle. Quote
Guest Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Bernhard looked around as they approached the castle, asking himself what he was doing associating himself with a band of murderers and troublemakers. The promise of work was well and good, but he was no warrior, so he had to ask: "My lord? If I may ask, what kind of work did you have in mind?" Quote
Hackie Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Touissant re-awakens from his hungover trance, he stares at the the large man before feeling for his crossbow, he gasps. He looks to the band of shady ass gentlemen and says in odd french, "Wha... What is going on? Where is my crossbow? Dammit, let go of me, I may be blind but I can walk!" Touissant struggles a bit but can't break free of the strong man's grasp. Edited February 12, 2015 by Guest Quote
canon35 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Skrag, noticing the man with the blindfold, helps him get on his feet and asks "Will ye fokken calm down? That man ovah there got's a job fo' us, and when ther' a job, ther' pay.". Quote
Hackie Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Touissant stares at the individual, he brushes his coat, and rubs some grime off of his pants. He raises a brow, and stares at the group. He notices the crossbow hanging from a pack. He says, "Alright, alright. My name is Touissant; wandering doctor. I'd gladly come with you, seeing as you have my crossbow, and you happen to be offering money.. Touissant searches the sack, hanging around his shoulder and searches it. He pulls out a high-quality scalpel, and a nameless bottle of what you assume, alcohol. He slips the scalpel into his belt, and walks hesitantly with what he assumes, are bandits. Looking for some easy pickings. Quote
hivefleetchicken Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Evelyn backed out of the bar, hopping onto her horse and weaving around the tavern to leave, before noticing the small band of previously seen figures leaving the alley behind it and crossing her path. Narrowing her gaze on all of them, she quickly halted her horse and directed it after them, watching all of the suspicious cloaked renegades and drunkards closely. Unable to communicate with them, she merely slouched and let out a slight huff in relief at the closure of the bar fight, before catching up with the crowd and lightly trotting alongside them on her horse. Quote
canon35 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Skrag stares at the horse-riding woman and ask"Da fuk you want?"s. Quote
Gollee Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Telaya keeps to the back of the group, watching the rest cautiously. Quote
