CommanderXor Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 BYOND Key: CommanderXor Game ID: bNN-ajQR Player Byond Key: Jackboot Staff involved: Alberyk Reason for complaint: Gank/little to no RP/general shittery. Right, so vampire round. I join at around 2 hours in, no transfer so far. So I walk in the brig to see Jawdat(Jackboot) pouring holy water down someone's throat. Nothing really happens besides me tasering and flashbanging someone trying to get out. Fast forward, he dominates the captain in to making him Head of Security and then suiciding himself. Pretty shitty move to randomly have a suicide order. Captain leaves and makes Jawdat Head of Security before I presumably assume he offed himself per dominate orders. Fast forward, there are a few people in the bridge, saying Jawdat is not to be trusted, ecetra. Me and a officer move in to ask Jawdat to get his implant since he has been refusing it so far. I hide the EMP weapons away at the IPC's requests and we make our way towards the bridge since Jawdat and the others murdered everyone inside. He at once orders that the IPC be detained and demoted. I counter-act saying for him to be arrested for basically exceeding powers and suspicious conduct. (Both for the refusal of implant and the firing of random staff.) He then immeditally gives me a dominante order to shoot the other officer and commit suicide. He spent the rest of the round running around murdering with himself and the thralls. (Which I all noticed are Tajaran. He murdered a borg and I saw him choking people in a cell. Little to no RP that round outside of his little Fur-Thrall group. Excessive amounts of gank as well. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? I did, it took about several minutes to get a reply. Nothing came from it, just a few questions and then a restart. Approximate Date/Time: 2:10 PM, 2/04/2017.
Faris Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 So, just to give my side of the story, I feel like some accounts were not entirely clear to Xor. I was the Tajara thrall in question and there really was only me as his Thrall. The Captain and Jackboot were both in a really tense stand off, having Jawdat becoming interim and then summarily demoted for not accepting the implant, so to say the dominate order for the Captain after a cumulative of two hours of action and intrigue seems like an unfair assessment, which from my limited scope as a cadet made it seem like the same could be said about the HoP. Though I do feel the dominate order placed against the Warden to have been rash and while it was the fasted solution to the problem, I feel like there could've been alternatives about it, simply telling you to attack the IPC could've been better than to shoot and then offing yourself.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Ordering you to kill yourself irregardless of your objective was maybe a bit much but I felt justified. You made yourself out to be a threat immediately. Without any context on the situation you immediately sided against Jawdat, the HoS at the time, and said he needed to stand down and resign and you said you wanted to get CC involved etc etc. You sided with Cassia, the IPC who refused Jawdat's authority, to the point that it would have been egregious even if Jawdat wasn't antag because it got the cadet she was meant to be overseeing taken hostage by the HoP. She refused to assist an armed invasion of the bridge against confirmed crazy people who kept shouting about voices in their head, who also had lethals, and command level IDs. So even without any context, to the point that other officers pointed it out, you made Jawdat your enemy. This was well into two hours, when Cassia (and now you) were the only major threats left. It was a justified kill, to me - especially since you could have failed and have been caught like the HoP intentionally did, in a creative way. You also have a wrong version of events. I wasn't ganking people and I only had one thrall. The holy water force feeding was after many mechanizations and manipulations of the chaplain and the vampire, where I pretended to have the best interests of both in mind. No one else was murdered by me or my orders after your murder suicide, but we did attempt to EMP borgs and the IPC Cassia, who had escaped. And even though you did die, I would have dragged you to medical to be cloned (both to cover myself IC'ly as 'oh no! You died! This is horrible!' as well as wanting you to be cloned OOC) So in short you're making a complaint on wrong information based on your limited experience. My reaction to you making yourselves a threat may have been a little severe, but it's the fight you picked. And I know it's pedantic, but Jawdat wasn't demoted, he chose to resign the first time. The second promotion was based on dominating the captain at full power.
TrickingTrapster Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Alright, notice here that I'll be the one resolving things. Gonna talk to some people involved and come up with a verdict.
TrickingTrapster Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Alright then. I've talked to Xor, JB and Abo and I've received enough information to come up with a verdict. First off, the captain's suicide was warranted, with 2 hours of prior RP involved, so there is no issue there. Xor joined 2 hours in, so he missed a lot of that. There was no real ganking going on before or after the suicide dominations. The suicide domination in question, the one against Richter, has been called a little hasty by both abo and JB, but it was not exactly against the rules. The fact that you had weapons on you ready to use would have been enough for him to engage at the very least. What I did find out is that JB was a tiny bit careless with his wording in the domination command. Had he not said to specifically use the gun Richter had there was a high probability of Richter not being headgibbed and consequentially cloned. A second thing I found was Xor jumping the gun a bit here, making a few claims without properly asking around about it first. So, what I will do is, I will give a note to the both of you, and a tiny verbal warning to try and watch it in the future. Xor gets one about being a little hasty on the complaint, while JB gets one to watch his domination wording more carefully in the future. That is all.
