Autism Speaks Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Through the advice of his old friend Kalren Halstere, Aedrian joined the 3rd Orbital Drop brigade apart of the 18th Naval Battlegroup as a Corporal with mechanization training. This uniform will be appropriately adorned and worn on occasion when he is off duty or conducting business concerning Mars.
Azande Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 1. You didn't use the format :/ 2. Enough Sol uniforms plz, it's very taboo to wear them in Tau Ceti's current political-social climate.
Autism Speaks Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 BYOND Key: Autism Speaks Character name: Aedrian Darthos Item name: Solarian Marine Dress Uniform with accompanying Dress Hat Why is your character carrying said item to work? To Represent the fact that he is a reservist in the Sovereign Martian Marine Corps. Item function(s): Uniform, hat Item description: Sol Navy Marine Dress uniform Item appearance: Sol Marine Dress Uniform and hat are both a black with brass polished buttons and red lining. How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? Seeing as how a good portion of the human crew is Martian and the current political climate in Tau Ceti it will attract both negative and positive RP seeing as he will represent the very thing messing with the systems borders. Might even be used during an event if war does break out between Sol and Tau Ceti as a hostile team or being hunted down himself on station. Additional comments: I would really like to see Aedrian in this military uniform as he has expressed several times his desire to see Mars free and to fight for it himself. A friend of his In character told him about the specific unit and MoS for him to go for as he will be reporting to him. The sprites already exist its just a matter of giving it to my character which I hope is not too much of a problem.
CrimsonAerospace Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Oh, you were the Security Officer who went off to hang out with some guy with no ID in a Sol uniform in the bar for a good half-ish hour and then cryo'd. Yeah, no, I don't see the point in wearing Sol dress uniforms on a Tau-Ceti Station, not in the current political climate. So many people do this, and it's honestly getting a little old. This also seems a bit strange, considering your character just recently decided to join? What about training? What about actually being deployed? Wouldn't this character then vanish from the station for some time to train/deploy? If you were a veteran you know, maybe. But wanting dress garbs because a buddy told you about a special group of orbital assault marines in Sol? Unless I'm reading that wrong, it sounds like you literally just recently joined.

Halstere does keep his identification card on him. Just in a pocket, in his PDA, there's never been an issue with it my good man. Plus, pretty sure I'm the only one who was authorized a Solarian dress uniform in the current times - at least, as a reoccurring custom item, and it's important to note that there are a number of regulations that surround this. You could go back to my own application to see about that, but, I'd give this a few days to review and wait. It takes a while to train and become what's essentially a sphess-mayn ODST (Cited from the Sol Alliance Military page on the wiki), and Halstere's a 9-year veteran who also doubles as a reservist, and also doesn't really work on the Aurora anymore.
Munks Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Are we going to have half the station running around in fancy spess muhreen uniforms from a faction we're not even in any comfortable terms with? We should never even have allowed the first one, now everyone wants it.
Brutishcrab51 Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Are we going to have half the station running around in fancy spess muhreen uniforms from a faction we're not even in any comfortable terms with? We should never even have allowed the first one, now everyone wants it. Two people aside from me have applied for Solarian uniforms (In this case, only one has applied for a dress uniform.), I would hardly call that 'everyone'. But, we're not here to derail his application. There's a precedent for acceptance if you can prove you'll not be a tard while in the uniform, and I think Aedrian can avoid doing that. As for how sudden the application was? I'm not so sure, but, it's his character, not mine. ADDITION: Plus, even in the theoretics that this was accepted, he wouldn't be able to wear it if he was working - And he suggested ICly that his character would stop working for NT. Sounds like a strictly Visitor-only item.
Autism Speaks Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 It is a strictly visitor only item. Originally Aedrian spoke with a Sol marine about political parties in his rented office and mentioned briefly how he wanted to join the Martian Military but sadly there wasn't one. Now that there is one he is jumping at the chance to join up.

Sounds like a strictly Visitor-only item. I think on these terms, it makes sense. I just couldn't imagine the company hiring someone who's a reserve in the Sol military, on a station in a place were Sol is typically looked down upon heavily. So, yeah, if it was strictly visitor only, and their character actually wasn't working anymore, it seems acceptable and believable.
Butterrobber202 Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Imo we shouldn’t have allowed the first one. Wearing a Sol Dress uniform on a NT station would like be wearing a Miltiary Russian Dress uniform into a USA Government facility during the Cold War.
