Kaed
I haven't directly seen it in a while, so it's possible it's been worked on already, but if we could change the hulk overlay into something that it's blatantly a marvel comics reference, that would be swell. i.e. removing the green skin red eyes overlay and replacing it with something that is still visually obvious. Perhaps a glowing effect around them? It also doesn't fit well with nonhuman characters who have snouts or tails or otherwise different body shapes, and I recall seeing it before just sort of paste the human shaped overlay over unathi characters and make them look really ugly. I also think we should stop calling it 'hulk' and maybe rename it to something more general, like 'berserk', and otherwise distance ourselves from what is clearly a comic book reference. NoahKirchner
Hulk can still make sense icly, as hulk is just large and unwieldy. Also I find the genetics glowing features to be ugly as heck, it'd be neat to find another way to represent that they angry (Maybe making them larger or have some purple lines on them to represent veins, idk) Link to comment
Garnascus
kaed not every little meme and reference in this game needs to be changed. Sure it would be nice if it wasnt broken as hell on non-human sprites but any attempts to move away from the glowing red eyes and hulk strength will get a firm no from me. Link to comment
Brutishcrab51
I'd say that we just get some different sprited Hulk icons for the various races, easy pz lemon squeeze. Vaurca Hulk when. Link to comment

Kaed
kaed not every little meme and reference in this game needs to be changed. Sure it would be nice if it wasnt broken as hell on non-human sprites but any attempts to move away from the glowing red eyes and hulk strength will get a firm no from me. You have to at least acknowledge that it needed to be fixed to not be broken on non-human sprites, though. It's honestly not even the glowing eyes and strength that bugs me so much as the hideous green skin overlay. I admit I don't like that it's a Hulk reference, but I'm more interested in making the spritework not look awful than 'removing all references'. I just don't think a marvel reference translates well cross species. Green skin works for humans because they have SKIN, instead of scales, or fur, or chitin, or weird froggy flesh. We can't just make an new green overlay for unathi, for instance, because green unathi already exist. What's the difference between a hulk unathi and an unathi with deep green scales? Bigger, redder eyes? And on the note of eyes, vaurca have eyes that are bigger and placed differently from everyone else, so we can't just leave the same red eyes on for everyone, they'd have a couple of weird glowing eyes out of place on their head. And what about tails? The overlay doesn't cover tails, and even if you added a tail bit to it, would it sync up with the tail animation? This is why I think it needs to be something that doesn't rely on a marvel reference, and is more universally compatible. Unless this reference is so important to you that you think everyone who is playing a non-human character can just eat shit? ;/ This is also going under the assumption that we can't viably create alternate hulk sprites on a per-species basis. I don't know how the code works, so I'm assuming the hulk overlay is unable to do that. If anyone can disillusion me of that, feel free. Link to comment
Lohikar
things Code-wise it should be perfectly possible to have per-limb level hulk. An alternate set of limb sprites used when hulked so hulks missing limbs + non-human hulks work properly. All human icon code has access to species info and can update icons to suit. Main issue would be getting sprites. Link to comment
LordBalkara
I am going to necro this to make a similar, but slightly different suggestion that rather than vamp hulk just have a new overlay, instead it could change the fur/skin/hair/scale/exoskeleton color to white, and the eye color to red. As a theme, it fits better with vampires, and is still a very obvious indicator of a "hulked" vampire, with the bonus of working for basically any species that can be a vampire. Link to comment
Fluffy
Hulked people do not have said overlay, bar the red eyes, anymore; This suggestion is therefore considered implemented/outdated. Locking and archiving. Link to comment
