Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) One of my goals as loremaster has always been to make lore accessible where possible. One easy way to get complicated information across (like the structure of a mega-corporation) is through charts! With this, you can now know who answers to whom in the entire Corporation! I even color coded it, wow. You are Head of Personnel You answer to the Captain Who answers to the Duty Officers Who answer to the Chief Legal Director Who reports to the Board of Directors Who works with Miranda Tarzan I also made a chart to explain ERT and its relationship with the rest of NT. And here is the basic shorthand to show more clearly which department Heads have as their ultimate corporate authority - or at least who manages their department finances... (If the images are too big here are the links http://i.imgur.com/8w5VQrr.png http://i.imgur.com/OFL3CUH.png http://i.imgur.com/QVw9mLI.png) ((In this last one the legal director should not be green ignore that he is command blue I will fIX IT)) I'll be overhauling respective pages on the wiki and making this information more accessible on it. .... After spell-checking. Edited March 29, 2016 by Marlon Phoenix Quote
Guest Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 This is overall pretty good. I'm glad to see stuff like this so it adds some additional depth and meaning to being command staff, in that their only job isn't just to keep their crew in check. Quote

Skull132 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 You got sub officer and leading trooper backwards He actually had them completely wrong. But this was fixed by removing the sub in the chain linked fence and using a Specialist rank between trooper and Ltpr. Quote
Serveris Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 What's a specialist abbreviated as? Honestly, I'm not sure if the ERT bit being changed is really necessary, nor do I really like how the playable-side of it is condensed. I've always liked how Aurora ERTs could have 3 possible commanding ranks governed by playable characters. It feels like you're wanting to remove that completely, and then glaze it with fluff ranks for the high brass. Quote

It feels like you're wanting to remove that completely, and then glaze it with fluff ranks for the high brass. I agree with this. I don't like the idea of removing the subs, it looks like a lot of the ERT system has been glazed over and kind of made redundant and nonsensical. Most troopers specialize, in their own way, anyways, having sec troopers remain the only normal troopers is kind of fucky, IMO. Just because a specialization isn't combative, IE, medics and engineering specialists, doesn't mean they should be a separate 'rank'. Furthermore, I feel like losing the 2IC "sub" rank kind of puts a wrench in things. Before, if the L/Tpr died, the Sub could take over effectively. Now, a medic or an engineer that may not actually be that great of a commander has to take over, in terms of chain of command. It just seems like this whole thing is unnecessary. I preferred the ERTs the way they were before. It was nice. Quote
Guest Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Subs did not normally deploy with ERT squadrons. L/Tprs, for all intents and purposes, are squad leaders. Subs are (or were) sub-commanders, which simply just meant they answered to the commander yet could command the squad leaders. Sort of like an adjutant or some other mid-way officer. Subs normally didn't get any show-time as they were admin/mod roles, and it usually just made more sense to deploy squad leaders with the rest of their team instead. Quote
