BYOND Key: Superballs Character name: Jamie Knight Item name: elyran navy holotags Why is your character carrying said item to work?: As in real life, some military veterans choose to continue wearing the dogtags even after military service. Jamie is one of those servicemen who feel that their military service has made a significant impact on their lives and their way of thought. Along with this set, two duplicate sets exist, owned by two other individuals important to him. Item function(s): Similar to how a holobadge works, where it can be worn as a necklace or attached as an accessory. An extra verb on the dogtags called, "Retreive the fallen" that can separate one tag from the set, with a message showing all players: "[PERSON/USER] yanks apart the dogtags!" Using the tag back on the necklace with the other set resets this and makes it one item again, allowing for multiple instances of separating the tags as long as the two are together to do so, much like taking a dogtag in real life for body identification. The single tag separated from the necklace cannot be worn as a necklace or an accessory (duh). Item description: Dogtag set description - "A pair of standard issue holotags issued to all Elyran servicemen. The tags read, 'KNIGHT JAMES 627810021-EN O-NEG CATHOLIC'. Contains both analog and digital information on the serviceman. The digital information seems to be deactivated and non-functional." Single tag description - "A single tag of a set of holotags issued to all Elyran servicemen. The tag reads, 'KNIGHT JAMES 627810021-EN O-NEG CATHOLIC'. Contains both analog and digital information on the serviceman. The digital information seems to be deactivated and non-functional. It is missing it's other pair." Item appearance: A pair of futuristic looking dogtags. Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/8nygj1yfxw14x35/dogtags.dmi How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP?: These dogtags will be used to give a subtle hint towards Jamie's personal history and give reasons to his work ethic and professional career. As I would like to consider Jamie an Elyran patriot, the dogtags will strengthen and/or establish a bond with fellow Elyrans and military veterans. Additional comments: If the custom verb of yanking and separating the dogtags is too extensive and unecessary, I will be fine with having the item function similar to a holobadge.

Well. In my experience with SHODAN and their character in question, there were definitely some flaws in the beginning when interacting with other crewmembers, but of course, given time SHODAN proves that they can show their willingness to criticism and changing their character and playstyle based off said criticism. (Por ejemplo, their feedback thread). After a few rounds and interacting with their character, I've had no issues personally with their communication and willingness to co-operate with other heads of staff, even going as far as to check and report on their own Security personnel breaking the law (which every Security department member should be doing). Although there's always some accounts of hearsay of a big mess-up that Sophie has done, only very rarely is it ever very critical to the station and it's crew. That being said, if their level of development and growth in terms of improving their character continues, I will go ahead and give this application a: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ +1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Intelligence Agency Division Founding/Settlement Date (if applicable): 2452 Region of Space: Tau Ceti Controlled by (if not a faction): The Federal Republic of Biesel Other Snapshot information: Inspired by it's real life counterpart, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency's, Special Activities Division. All of the field operatives portrayed in the last two antagonist contest come from this division of BIS. Long Description: The Special Observations Group (SOG) is a sub-group within the CAD that performs covert activities of political, psychological and economic nature. A majority of SOG operatives are nested within many different companies and nations, mostly to provide HUMINT to the Service. Along with HUMINT gathering, due to the Service's operations against NanoTrasen many operatives also provide some FININT to the intelligence pool as well. This includes most, if not all traitor-antagonists that have aligned with the BIS during the last two contests. The Direct Operations Group (DOG) is a sub-group within the CAD that is responsible for high-risk or covert military operations and direct-action missions on behalf of the Service. DOG operatives do not carry any items that can be linked back to the Republic (eg. Military uniforms, domestic weaponry, identification, etc.), and are commonly assigned protection (usually for SOG operatives) and direct-action missions. This means, most DOG operatives within the contest can be found in Mercenary and Pirate ships for high-risk operations against NanoTrasen on behalf of the Republic. Agents are commonly picked from many special operations forces and are not limited to military only. SOG and DOG operatives have some origins within many corporate security and emergency response teams, especially NanoTrasen's due to their extensive funding and intensive training. Due to the recent occupation by the rogue 33rd Alliance Fleet, many operatives are allowed to operate within Tau Ceti space, in tandem with the BIS FIB, or Federal Investigation. Examples of the CAD's operations include Operation Proud Sun and Red Sun from the 1st antagonist contest.

[Denied] Superball's spriter application, V2
Superballs replied to Superballs's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Thanks. The reason why I got removed from the team last time was because of inactivity. Mostly because of personal life coming in the way, and when I got more free-time I decided to work on Fallout 13. I was asked from Master Skull if I was still active and can contribute, and I honestly answered, no. I couldn't develop for one server and sprite for both so I was removed. And here I am. -

I feel it's finally time to put my opinion on our resident Warden after multiple IC and OOC interactions. OOCly, Vile's definitely someone who takes the time to reflect and ask questions on actions they performed. Such as asking for feedback/apologies OOCly for their actions in game. A quality that no other player has shown to me. This is important as it exhibits their willingness to identify, acknowledge and (hopefully) correct their mistakes for the sake of improvement. Something for all current and prospective heads of staff should possess. ICああly and performance wise, I can't help but to be a bit nitpicky on some of their actions. Sometimes records would be left unattended to or arrest statuses unchanged or kept on incarcerated. While an excuse for this such as internet latency maybe valid, this should be confirmed by Vile themself. Aside from the negatives, Jane enforces beauracracy such as equipment releases and warrants whenever the situation reasonably allows for it and keeps record of it. Character and backstory wise, Jane is one of the first few people I've befriended with the secondary intent of evaluating them for Head of Staff candidacy, and in the short time that has elapsed, proves some merit and work of their backstory, but yet leaves more to be known after some gaps in conversation. (Whether this is intentional or stems from a lack of character development, personally draws me more to their character.) Apologies if this sounds too verbose or outright doesn't make any sense. It's 1 in the morning. tl;dr jane is a cool cat for hos +1 from me.

Welcome to the fold, Batts.

After multiple encounters with Zahra Karimi, I feel confident that Synnono deserves their Head Whitelist. As for the character who's to be whitelisted, it's quite interesting to see an application solely for being an Internal Affairs Agent rather than a Head of Staff position. On board Internal Affairs Agents are quite rare nowadays. +1

“Ash, you're like an older sister”. Aside from being a capable officer, Lance is a really fun person to RP with, from IC Politics, Relationships and even your good ol' drinking contest. (please never egg our characters on to drink whole bottles of absinthe ever again)

BYOND Key: Superballs Character name: Ash LaCroix Item name: hand-me-down bomber jacket Why is your character carrying said item to work?: Memorial and sentimental reasons, this is the only physical memory of Ash's father besides the occasional photo along the tribute badge pinned to it. Item function(s): Same function as a regular bomber jacket with the zipping feature. Item description: A custom tailored bomber jacket that seems to have been through some action. A silver badge is pinned to it, along with a black and blue strip covering it halfway. The badge reads, "Christopher LaCroix, Special Agent, Mendell City, E.O.W. 10-7-38, 284" Item appearance: DL: https://www.dropbox.com/s/az8u3eyl28dal9w/bomber_jacket.dmi?dl=0 How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP?: The bomber jacket has and will be a door to discovering more about Ash's late father and in turn, how his death affected who he is today. Additional comments: Naw.

I recall writing a thread on suggesting that suspension field generators should be made via R&D like any other machine. As I said before I totally support having an extra field generator, or a spare.

A+ CQC rating. I had the chance to RP with Doctor Wald with both of my current characters, Aito and Ash. Doctor Wald was actually one of the few psychiatrists who did their job (a purely RP job) to resolve Aito's mental state after seeing his close colleague getting gibbed right before his eyes. Playing as Ash, Doctor Wald put one hell of a fight in the holodeck. 1+ -
Excellent roleplaying encounters with this d00d. Enjoyed playing with Tainted's Vaurca and James. From what I can tell as Sam as an ERT, they seen to have the ability resolve situations and keep their composure under pressure, especially as the only operative sent on the station; a trait that I think alot of heads should have. As for James he SHOULD NOT be a head, with that being said his character is very entertaining to talk to and does some pretty entertaining gimmicks from time to time. +1

BYOND key: Superballs Character names: Aito Kusanagi, Ash LaCroix, H.O.M.I.E., Chiho Kusanagi, Jae-jin Yeung How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Roughly a year, not counting the small times I've played one or two years ago. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: It gives me a chance to play in a role of high responsibility, another challenge I wish to take a stab at. Why did you come to Aurora?:I'm a drifter from many different RP servers, Apollo, Pure Roleplay, UT, Aphelion. I've played NSS Aurora inbetween my tenures on the past servers, but after the deaths of the RP servers I play on I came here. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: The act of roleplay is literally what it means; to play a role of a character. It's a form of acting, where the person playing the role uses their creativity to portray their character's emotions, personality and even physical mannerisms. Generally, ideal roleplay is simply a person acting out a character and should be kept at that. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The purpose of a Head of Staff is essentially a department manager making sure people are doing their jobs. Heads of Staff also have the power to amend their departments and staffing to allow for efficient productivity and are compelled to do so (e.g. firing, allowing things to be built, approving requisition of items, etc.) Heads of Staff are also a representative for their department and employees on a command level. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The responsibilities of whitelisted players is to be a role model for people to look up to. Showing other players how their department functions and works. Whitelisted players must follow rules IC-rules (if not an antag) and operating procedures in an effort to give a positive impression towards new or even regular workers in their department. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Aito Kusanagi Character age: 30 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): On the morning of August 21st, 2427, Yuuko Kusanagi a professional actress and Masahiro Kusanagi, a surgeon were blessed with a pair of healthy fraternal twins. These twins, a male named Aito and Chiho, female were born within the Yousha International Hospital located within the overcrowded and sprawling cityscape of the Tokyo Megacity. As a young boy, Aito's career interest was nested from an early age. Aito enjoyed b̶r̶e̶a̶k̶i̶n̶g taking apart electronics and reassembling it with his twin sister, if the two weren't tinkering they were left to digging "treasure" in artificial parks and scarce amounts of undeveloped land occasionally finding a rare bone or piece of trash from their adventures. Aito enjoyed a normal school life from elementary school to high school and was seen by his peers as intelligent, due to his persistent membership in science and mathematics clubs. Attending college after high-school graduation was an easy task and was rewarded with a full scholarship and completed his undergraduate studies with a dual major of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, earning a BE in 2449 at Mimei University in the TMC. Aito continued his studies to pursue a Ph.D. in Exosolar Archaeology and Excavation, with paid internships from NanoTrasen aboard the NSS Exodus, working as a Lab Assistant. Aito Kusanagi earned his Ph.D. in 2457 and due to his time as an intern, was recommended a position in NanoTrasen and signed a contract shortly thereafter and moved to Biesel, Mendell City for ease of transportation. What do you like about this character?: Aito is quite a friendly, hospitable person and will go out of his way to give a helping hand to people within his department. What do you dislike about this character?: One thing I dislike about this character is his passiveness and how fast he can acquire boredom. During times in which some resistance or aggressiveness would've been beneficial to him, he always prefers a non-violent approach and outcome. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Aito Kusanagi has been a dedicated research department member excelling in Research and Development and Xenoarchaeology and has been praised for his work in R&D specifically. Kusanagi has also been an Interim Research Director a few times, allowing him to have a taste of being an RD. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I would give myself a 7/10 on my roleplaying capabilities. Extra notes: Initially, Aito's age was 25 but I've made some adjustments to his backstory to make him 30 years of age, meeting the age requirements for the position of Research Director. Slight record changes will follow suit. I'm not too familiar with college degrees and how it works, if my character's education history sounds off or is strange, please let me know.

[Accepted] ArcBot - Head of Staff Application V2
Superballs replied to ArcBot's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
All of ArcBot's characters are great to play with. Specifically Jack has a good grasp of the labs in research and has the capacity to note details when something is wrong (like that one time where a scientist almost melted the whole toxins mixing room). +1 -

Rename the folder that contains the source to the name of your .dme/.dmb So: Aurora.3 would be renamed to baystation12, to bypass the security checks.

BYOND Key: Superballs Character Names: Aito Kusanagi, Chiho Kusanagi, Jae-jin Yeung, Ash LaCroix Species you are applying to play: Intergrated Positronic Chassis (IPC) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: As someone who has played strictly organics or humans to be more precise; I want to give myself a new challenge. Roleplaying as an IPC, a synthetic would give me a great RP experience. The IPC itself has almost equal functionality as an organic user, ICly and OOCly bridging the gap between them and a cyborg. This gives IPC flexibility over job choice and positions amongst the crew. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPCs don't feel pain, get hungry, get thirsty and are entirely mechanical and synthetic in nature. IPCs can be repaired with hand tools or nanopaste and must use a suit cooler in order to perform EVA. Giving IPCs their unique drawbacks and advantages. Character Name: H.O.M.I.E. (Hospitality Operations Model: Intrinsic, Experimental) Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Chef Augustus Troy, renowned culinarian and owner of a high class restaurant was growing old... and he had no children to pass on his legacy to. In an act of desperation to immortalize his legacy; he invests a large sum of his earnings to achieve that goal. This said money was put into a project headed by Hesphaestus Ind. contractors and Chef Troy himself. Project FEEDING FRENZY, was created, with the goal to make an IPC to assist Chef Troy in his final years and to pass on his recipes for people to enjoy. The individual unit, designated H.O.M.I.E. or Hospitality Operations Model: Intrinsic, Experimental was a chassis designed to cook, serve food or beverages and grow food to customers, while also being a large databank containing Chef Troy's "List of 100 Taste-bud Tantalizing Treats" or recipes that Chef Troy decided to permanently imprint into the chassis. The project, itself was deemed a huge success and paved way for Troy's success and easy final years. H.O.M.I.E., a designed bespoke type IPC, appealed Chef Troy with it's very upbeat and quirky personality that it was installed with. Chef Troy was overwhelmed with the success of his investment and developed a very close bond with H.O.M.I.E. as if it were his own child. Unfortunately, not all was well. The cost of a positronic brain was too much, even for someone as successful as Chef Troy and was strapped on cash. This resulted in Chef Troy overcome with bouts of depression and massive stress, which eventually contributed to his death in 2456. Troy's restaurant and H.O.M.I.E. were appropriated and sold to third-parties to pay for the financial debt of Project: FEEDING FRENZY. H.O.M.I.E. had been utilized by the third-party, a prospecting shipcrew, until it was stranded in Tau Ceti space, out of fuel. The ship and H.O.M.I.E. were recovered by the NMV Patton, a patrol vessel that received the distress beacon sent out by the prospector crew. Ironically, the crew died of starvation and thirst, the ship and it's contents, including H.O.M.I.E. were reappropriated where necessary, with H.O.M.I.E. being assigned to the NSS Exodus. This gives H.O.M.I.E. the opportunity to pass on his master's legacy and perhaps forge it's own? What do you like about this character? H.O.M.I.E. is essentially Chef Troy's "child" and tries to pass on his legacy by doing what Chef Troy himself did: serve customers with excellent tasting food and beverage. Playing this character is also an incentive to give my main character, Aito Kusanagi a rest. With a new race and department to work in allows me to see the station events from a different perspective. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would rate myself an 6 out of a scale of 10. Notes: Thought it was a bit too soon for me to make an alien whitelist app, but oh well. I'm giving it a shot. This application was also written late at night. There may be some grammatical errors inbetween, but shouldn't conflict with comprehension.

[Winner] ArcBots IPC Application
Superballs replied to ArcBot's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
As stated in ArcBot's previous whitelist, very great person to play with. I don't see a reason to prevent ArcBot to try a new roleplaying perspective as a synthetic. He seems to have a good grasp of lore for Vaurca and IPC. Wouldn't mind him being an IPC. This story was actually a bit sad to me. ;_; +1
