  3. Okays basically I'm going to break this all down a bit better since people asked, I'll start with personality. So I feel like Vaurca don't feel or talk a lot about their hives. Most are bread for a very specific purpose in their hive so I would want to change their behaviour to mirror this. Due to the way they are bread, all members will feel great pride in their respect hives and queens. Everyone is born and dies for their hive correct? So why do Vaurca not act this way? I don't want to make it so everything they do is for the hive but push it more to the forefront of their minds, make them more patriotic so to speak. For example a Vaurca could be on station to learn more about Human behaviours, while he can do this passively he will record information down to transfer so that others better understand Humans etc. One perhaps may be a lab assistant to better learn how to fight Humans in a riot, or perhaps a medical assistant to learn how to better treat wounds. Every Vaurca should have a theme like this and their reasoning for being here is to better the hive. I also want specific hives to band together more and do things together. Bringing Vaurca together and perhaps making them a force to be reckon with. I don't want to take away the RP you guys currently have, more as to just make everyone overall represent their hives a bit more and form groups that look attractive from the outside, making people want to play. I also got asked to talk more about the disease I have planned. This is the major rewrite I want to do, I feel like Vaurca cannot talk more about home and there isn't much in their backstory that can lead onto other things such as conflict with another race. Basically a portion of bound Vaurca start displaying zombie like characteristics, cannibilism etc. They lose all sense of control and enter their sleep like state, not really being self aware of what they are doing, they are asleep but their bodies do the work. The disease that affects their mechanical implants which most bound receive extensively, however this doesn't mean unbound are not affected, it just means they are less likely to contract the disease. Currently my idea is having it spread via spores however I will see what other ways I can come up with. It's slowly sweeping through the massive slums on Biesal, they are attempting to stop it however it does overall seem to be advancing. I will create a map of what the slums look like and designate areas known as 'Dark' zones, as in nothing comes out communications wise. The areas are completely infested. This is a story line I could develop to go both ways depending on how it is received by players. I want to give Vaurca something to do, sort of like the free synth movement. Vaurca as of now seem very passive characters, not doing a whole lot. You look at Unathi? You see them bully a Guwan. You look at Tajara? You see them bully a rebel, or talk war storys. You look at a Skrell? Along with feeling disgusting they can talk about schools and so on. You look at Vaurca? They can't do a whole lot. This entire thing will affect how every other species sees them, some gain alliances through this and some are broken.
  4. Well as I said I want their to be big inbuilt respect for their hives, think Unathi with their clans only bigger. I helped out with lore on servers like Apollo, managed some briefly and I was lore master on a couple upstarts that wont matter anymore. I want to kind of, remove Vaurcas sense of self and instead build a sense of hive, that they live (and may die for). The main thing I want to do is create a story for you and other players to build their characters off, I feel as though compared to other races you cant actually talk about much! So as stated I want to create this almost global disease or pandemic plaguing the lower ranks of the Vaurca. Hope this helps, and this only one idea I have in plan, I have many more that will work off of this main big write I'd like to do, giving a lot for Vaurca to RP about, specifically with Humans wink wink.

  7. Thank you for your criticism! However I want to put this into perspective. I assume you where the CMO, so naturally you have no knowledge of intelliegence. Not only did the AI change its own ruleset twice, the roboticist, (Someone who is an expert in the field!!) was also recommending us to shut it off. You disobeyed majority of the crew to the point we had to commit mutiny. However I will try amend my roleplay.

Ckey/BYOND Username: AWPenheimer Position Being Applied For: Vaurca lore developer Past Experiences/Knowledge: Managed races before on other servers as well as helped with rewrites, entire new lore concepts and other things relating to races. Always been a fan of writing lore mostly because I do enjoy writing, especially in a fantasy like setting such as here on SS13. Do you play Vaurca extensively? Why? I do not currently play Vaurca however do not let this sway your opinion of me. I have a lot of good ideas regarding the race and I enjoy all the different mechanics and existing backstory they have and I have some cool ideas o expand. If you were chosen for Lore Developer, what would your plans be for Vaurca? First off I want to mention the big feature, the fact that they are linked somehow through the 'hive network' I want to change Vaurca so that that hive hierarchy matters a lot more to them. Even when away from the hive I want to instil a great deal of honour in every Vaurca for their respective hive. Even when away from the main bulk such as on the station they still work massively towards improving the overall health of their respective hives. I also want to rewrite a huge new thing into lore. I'm not sure how it starts yet either through a malfunction of the neural implants in the bound or if it was done on purpose by a hacker perhaps. I'm also still exploring the idea that it is a genetic resistance to the neural implants. Basically a portion of bound Vaurca in every hive enter their 'sleep like' state before reawakening and no longer being a Vaurca almost, they enter a zombie like state attacking anyone that isn't releasing the respective pheromones to signal they are also affected. They become cannibalistic, this creates a lot of new avenues for RP. Much like Tajara being affected by the war, Vaurca can also carry the scars of this 'war'. This also brings up that in every hive there will be something what I will refer to as the 'Underworld'. The dark avenues and the 'slums' every hive ship will have these infected Vaurca walking around doing their thing and respective warriors pushing them back. This gives people actually something to talk about in their backstories about their hives. Also this will slowly build up heightening tensions between Humans and Vaurca, as the unbound are specifically targeted they begin to blame humans etc. This is just one idea I have and I have many more, this is just a little taster of what I may do if I get the position! I also like the idea of VR however it seems quite basic and I want to expand more on what it actually means and what actually goes on inside these VR worlds. Would you embark on major or minor rewrites of Vaurca lore? If yes, why is your rewrite worth it? Of course! That is the big fun bit of it all. Writing huge new chunks of lore for everyone to read and act upon, feels good. I have one major idea in mind that would bring a lot of big big RP to Vaurca, not only in the species themselves but relating to Humans also. I'll try to rework behaviours as already said so more of what Vaurca do is actually for the hive not themselves, both bound and unbound.

I don't think all borg players should get punished, but if a lot of you keep running around doing this shit the function it was intended for will be removed, I think they should lose sophoric from the hypospray and just use normal syringe. It's annoying in the middle of RPing an antag and a borg runs up to you and removes you from play for 15 minutes with no counter.
  10. Is talking about airlocks and areas open to space anyway intending to ruin anybodies round? I do not understand how talking about fear rp regarding airlocks is spoiling the outcome of the round for anyone. I infact DID NOT reveal any information about the round, yes i did mention it was a mercenary round however, WE VOTED MERCENARY IN, so that means only one thing, you warned me for mentioning airlocks yet again, effectively charging me twice for the same crime. If someone is in court for murder, do they get charged twice for the same murder? No. Your making this look a lot worse on yourself by saying that you warned me for the same thing twice.
  11. I am not contesting the Discord b an more as how you handled the situation. Yes I did mention airlocks and fear rp, however what I'm saying is unless it is directly sinkable to the round via very obvious things (and minor of course) such as names, locations etc then it cannot be classed as IC in OOC. By the logic your trying to instate players can never talk about any rounds, game modes or anything such as fear RP because it /may/ link to the round. I could be talking about the mercenary game mode for example and get warned for it by your logic, because it may link to the round in progress coincidentally. In the situation you did not ask me if it was about the current round nor did you question what I was actually saying, but instead jumped to a conclusion and warned me without having properly reviewed the situation ,as many staff members seem to do.

  13. No indication was given that talking about vented areas was relating to the current round. By following how the staff are acting about it now, players should never be able to talk about vented areas and such because it may relate to the game? By this logic no ooc chat can ever occur if there is a chance it can relate to the current round.
  14. I am not contesting nor complaining about your strike Alberyk, so theres no need to be here. I am contesting the 2nd and mostly 3rd warning received. The 2nd one which I assume was for this How is that in anyway specific to the round or in anyway relating to the round? This provides no detail to anyone in that channel that knows it is from the current round. I also assume the third warning was from this Here admittedly I did get angry. However since I was already warned for mentioning the airlock here, you couldnt have warned me again for saying it, if I murdered one person I do not get charged with murder twice after all. I assume your talking about how I mentioned it was mercenary, even though we voted mercenary in and everyone could see it was mercenary anyways. Which is why I am mostly contesting the 3rd warning, however this does not exclude me contesting the 2nd one.

Also the 2nd warning for mentioning how no one fear rp's opening doors into breached areas, not being specific to anyone in the game nor mentioning name, location or time. So in no way could it have ever affected the round. Evidence/logs/etc: Ingame logs. Discord logs Additional remarks: I understand the discord ban is only two days, but both my 2nd and 3rd warning I believe did not break the IC in OOC chat in anyway, shape or form and this is why I wish to talk about this. I mentioned opening an airlock into a vented area correct, I talked about it in discord and mentioned that no one fear rps it anymore but not mentioning names, time or any details that could affect the round. Also since mercenary were already voted in everyone knew the round time, thus making the 3rd warning and ban incorrect.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I enjoy playing security especially in the head role, I like to teach people new things, especially the cadets and I want to take my role play to the next level. Why did you come to Aurora?: I came to Aurora after most of the RP servers shut down, I heard it was a good server and a bunch of people I knew moved over here. So far its been a good choice. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes I've read the wiki and have an idea of what I plan to take however I will have to look further into it. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is creating a character and then taking control of that character, acting out their emotions and actions in different ways depending on what you made the character like. Doing it for self enjoyment and for the fun of others. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose should be to teach newer people how to play the game. Teaching them basic mechanics such as the inventory system, how to cuff etc is important and I think heads of staff, being masters of their role, should be the ones teaching this. They should also be giving out advice to players who need it in an attempt to build a better department. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The OOC responsibilities of whitelisted players are to make sure newer players feel welcome. They should also make sure players have the knowledge and skill to correctly roleplay in a department and it is important that people on the whitelists are improving their current department. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Assim Zhan-Ka'tor'ro Character age: 36 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Assim is a little unusual for a Zhan Tajara, he is quite tall and built which is probably why he spent most of his days as a working Taj, labouring around doing all sorts of work. He is fairly young for all he has experienced, 36. His fur is thick and a deep single color of brown apart from around his face which seem to become lighter. His eyes shine a dark yellow with black flecks embedded into them. His claws are quite sharp yet shorter then normal ,probably ground off from all the work he has done throughout his life. He is always smiling and laughing, a very funny and good to be around Tajara. However it is clear he has a lot of new scars, his thick fur is obviously missing in some places and the exposed flesh below seems recent indeed. He has done a lot for the station and this is his proof. He is ageing and battle hardened, but always willing to do what is right. Assim has spent a lot of time bouncing from Ahdomai back onto the station. He has worked onboard for quite some time now and as much as he wants to leave he is unable too, he feels he has created a family here and that he has an obligation to protect it at a;; costs. Coming to the station is like a drug for him, he keeps leaving to care for his family but he knows that the most he can do is from here, earning money and sending it back home to feed what little family he does have. His knowledge in security has grown and even though his Sol common is still questionable it is undoubted, he is very smart and quick thinking. Since he spent a few shifts as a stand in HoS he thought now would be the best time to climb up in the world and expand his horizons even further. He is determined to get this job so that he can keep his family safe. Recently Assim has been working quite hard to his role, he will often volunteer for things and always take part in the most dangerous jobs in an attempt to prove his worth and loyalty to NT. He's hardworking and very dedicated to what NT wants, if he is ordered to do something he will carry it out with efficiency and skill. He is also continuously trying to improve himself, his skills in security and other things such as his ability to speak common. Overall he believes he could make a very good addition to the command crew. What do you like about this character?: What do you dislike about this character?: I sometimes feel like his poor ability to speak common is a struggle, since he may struggle to communicate with people sometimes put he will always find a way to get his word across, even if it does take some time to say it. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Since he has a lot of time in to security with NT now but also security/military back on home, I think he would be suited perfectly for the role since he has a vast knowledge now. Not only that he is a friendly character, even though he may appear big and odd he is approachable and always willing to teach other members of security tips and tricks. This would make him perfect for the role since he would be able to train up the cadets and other officers even further, making security a even better department. I also have a lot of experience from other heavy rp servers, meaning I wouldn't be fair behind on anything. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I like to rate myself quite highly, I always try to stay in character making it fun for myself and the others around, however there is always room for improvement and that is what I look to do everyday!   23. Thanks for the feedback! And ice not once did you lecture on killing mice with the hatchet, you just screamed about letting then lived. We asked you to leave multiple times. You refused and continue lecturing us about saving mice in the bar and on the radio. Assim lost his patience after telling you directly I was about to lose it. To which he lost it and threw it at you.
  24. You never killed them with it, it was involved somehow as the detective found out and you had the only one. Declan also testified and showed us bodies which had the same marking from a stun rev.
  25. Lyanna? Yeah I can +1 this. Good at the game and keeps a chill, something which will make a good quality in a mod. Also respected by all players so I can support this, even if my +1 doesn't mean much.
