Good luck trying to do that. You can't ventcrawl into the core since the only vent inside the engine is connected to the TEG piping. Mice can crawl into scrubbers now, so you just link a scrubber up at some point, in either the hot loop or the waste exchange loop, before you pump the gas in, and then watch the magic happen. Pretty sure the Supermatter Engine Core and its gas loop are completely isolated. Unless you do the modification where you connect the waste cooling part directly to the scrubber network, there is no way a mouse would get in by itself (Or if some engineers/drones decide to grief, but that's another issue).

Yeah... It doesn't seem like the tesla ball will grow too large for the containment field as long as there are tesla coils absorbing whatever energy it discharges.

A new way to play mice. Image brought to you courtesy of Alberyk. Now if only wallrot became more common.....

A note to any department who uses a mech

Literally how to get tempbanned. I am inclined to ask why, of all things, crashing into the mech sensor on the departures shuttle will get you in trouble. Does it break the shuttle wall and vent it? -
Yes, I did mean the energy balls orbiting the main one. And the containment field seemed to keep the main energy ball contained, but alright. Is there ever a point at which the tesla engine will go big rnough that something bad will happen, or is there a hardlimit to its growth, or can it just keep expanding forever and ever? I don't know much about the tesla engine,so don't take this seriously, but the TG-station wiki says that the tesla ball will discharge energy into nearby machinery. This MIGHT include nearby emitters that keep the field generators powered. However, they will not be hit if there are tesla coils attracting the electricity(The coils will divert half of the energy to another nearby object, hopefully it is another tesla coil). In OOC during a round, someone said that they got the engine to have forty balls orbiting it, so I am not sure if it will stop growing.

I'm pretty sure that you are not supposed to put tesla coils inside the containment grid. Just surround the containment field with tesla coils linked to the power line, the more the merrier. Also, keeping the particle accelerator online will cause the tesla matrix (Think that's the official name) to grow and have more balls orbit around it, which will cause it to discharge more frequently and strongly into the tesla coils. I am not sure what "orbitals" you're talking about,I assume you mean the energy balls that revolve around the main ball.

The "Ask a mod/admin" thread is at least 21 pages long. Well then, we have our fucking work cut out for us. Let's do this shit.

The title says it all. I would like to see tasers tweaked to a minor extent. I got the idea from playing around on TG-Station and Hippie. The taser guns there come with two modes, stun and disable. The stun mode has a short range(Maybe 4-5 tiles?), and fires a low-speed electrode. Should that electrode hit an unarmored part of your body, you are stunned instantly and for slightly less time than a flash (About the same time as being hit with enough Auroracode taser shots will stun you for). The electrode travels a short distance at low speed, and is stopped by windows, grilles, walls, people, etc. The point of this mode is to quickly take down the target when you are close enough and need to cover the remaining distance, but will not work if you are chasing the suspect and have a lot of ground to cover. The disable mode works almost exactly like the current taser does. In this mode, the gun will fire a slightly-faster blue beam that has higher range than the taser and will deal HALLOSS damage (Like Auroracode tasers do) and slow the subject to some degree. It is not stopped by windows or grilles. The point of this mode is to slow down the target while they are out of stun mode range so that you can then proceed to incapaticate them. Let me know what you think.

Shielding the station from meteors.

Oh really? Can an admin (or mod) post and confirm what you said? Why is leaving the shield on all shift powergaming? It would be something I would do in case there was nobody to turn the shield on when the inevitable meteor storm came. Apologies then. I don't follow the Aurora Discord, sorry for not knowing beforehand. -

Setting up the shield from scratch in an emergency takes like 2-3 minutes, running a wire grille around the entire station would take at least 15. WHAT ARE YOU HIGH ON AND WILL YOU PLEASE PASS IT Shush. Im trying to convince the masses. Plus, making a grille around the station doesn't mean you need to either run to the bridge everytime it's needed, and wait for it to power up. Just ask the AI,Command (They MIGHT just be doing their jobs instead of trying to acquire their shift dose of valids), or a borg to turn on the shield. If none of those options are available, you can just turn on the shield right after you are done setting it up. All of these, even running to the bridge, take less time and resources than building a grille shield around the station. Grilles can also be eaten by carp, making them worthless. -
I think the surgeries can add some fun to the game. For example: Two traitors decide over AOOC that one of them should have the mission to kill someone, while the other has to protect them. The traitor with the protect objective then kidnaps the target, gives them a new identity, and even makes an entry on the crew manifest (Add a new employment record) for that person. Drama ensues when the target screams over Common about being given a sex change, the other traitor finds and kills the target, RIP. A team of heisters/mercs kidnap an important crewmember (CE,RD, maybe even the HoS and Captain), who just so happens to be of the opposite gender. The team then uses these proposed surgeries to infiltrate the ranks of the crew and acquire important items, how the situation progresses is up to the players. Will the operation succeed and mercs/heisters get away unnoticed? Will the crew notice behavioral inconsistencies and decide that something is going on? Will they make the fake captain mandate that certain crewmembers are borged? Who knows?! As said earlier, Security may even send one of their own to spy on the mercs/heisters. How this will go is: Security somehow manages to capture a merc/heister without then yelling over the radio (Maybe using the ghetto radio jammer or knockout gas). They then proceed to disguise a volunteer as the captured person, give them the prisoner's stuff, and send the disguised officer back to the mercs to gather information. What happens next depends on how each side plays it out. A traitor managed to steal the nuke disk, but now has the entirety of Security hunting them down. They then get some other traitor to buy the surgery kit from the uplink and give them a new identity, maybe even add a new employment record. Maybe sec will notice a new crewmember on the manifest whose arrival was not announced before and proceed to detain them, or maybe the traitor can continue doing their business without attracting suspicion. Voice change surgery goes along with each of the above situation so that whoever is being given an identity change isn't immediately revealed when they talk like "Captain McComdom (As Stealthy Antagonist)". The surgeries have a lot of potential should they be added, but it all depends on how the playerbase uses it. It was also proposed that the ghetto analogues will fail when doing any of the surgeries (To avoid the inevitable incident of "HELP BALDIE MCBALD IS CHANGING MY GENDER IN MAINT"). The exact steps for each of the surgeries may need to be reworked so that you don't end up cutting someone's crotch open as if you are going to remove an organ whilst trying to give them a sex change (Maybe have it show up a pop-up window asking which surgery you would like to perform?), or accidentally turning someone into a woman while trying to remove an inflamed appendix. I don't see any use for the vocal cord removal surgery, but all of the other ones seem to have a lot of potential to add to the fun of the game.

Oh good, 10 pages. Can't wait until we hit 11. On that note, what thread holds the record for most posts? We need to break it with this one. The "Ask a mod/admin" thread is at least 21 pages long.

Admin PM from Nanako: "This drone is breaking its laws by gibbing my mouse army. Pls ban now." I am OFFENDED by the fact that you did not include blobs, carp, or spiders in your mockery of Nanako. What an insensitive and dickish comment. We not only need to stop the ganking of mice, but blobs and spooders as well!11111 Yeah, we should lock this thread.

Let's see how long we can push this thread to be, might as well increase our post counts in the process. EDIT: OH,eight pages now.

I didn't mean to report this as a bug. This post was meant to give us something to laugh at.

So we were playing a round, mining our own business. I joined later in the round, so I don't know what was going on, but we went to code Red and then dropped down to green relatively quickly. And then, an important announcement from CC comes: http://imgur.com/a/gH7VJ Topkek

I remember Datberry saying over OOC that drones that kill mice will get bwoinked because of their laws. So guess what? Drone laws got changed so that the last one is "Interact with no humanoid or synthetic being that is not a fellow maintenance drone", rather than "Interact with no being that is not a fellow maintenance drone". Remembers that there is a seven-page thread that was started because someone was getting TRIGGERED simply because people kept killing mice, despite mice being the most valid creature on the server.

Okay. Back on topic. Cloning has no effect because it only lasts 1 round because most people don't make it cannon. Which this is where the nerf part comes in. I say after 30 or so minutes of death, you can't be cloned anymore. Most of the time, IC deaths aren't character-canon because they're the direct result of antagonist actions. At any rate, would there be an IC explaination as to why bodies can't be cloned after 30 minutes? Genes don't expire, and unless stored in an open, hot, humid rainforest, there's no way the brain would start to rot that quickly. Imo, cloning is fine how it is, but I'd like to see what other people would think. Pretty sure brain death would occur within thirty minutes of the heart stopping. I think it's a matter of minutes, in fact. So there's your IC explanation for not being able to clone past a certain point.
