Draculabot's Head of Staff application
josh1133 replied to Draculabot's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
As a mod, I have seen Dracula improve quite a bit in their time since joining Aurora. Despite some incidents, I believe they could be a good head and create interesting roleplay once again for the department they lead. -
You know what really did help though? Have a lawyer, because once I gave him all my evidence I had some great role play with them and the DO's agreed that Winston was in the right to do what he did. The Lawyers would be great, in fact, imagine them having to defend the Nuke Ops, the Changeling, or the traitors from the entire station because its their job too. A trial with the entire station against these people and the lawyer the only one trying to help them, if that doesn't create interesting Roleplay, I don't know what will. But I guess it would depend on if the crew got involved and Security allowed them to defend instead of just brushing them off.
-
Security is a private security force, I would gladly love to see Lawyers involved, but don't bring my character in as some edge lord shit sec as a example and using him as the only one because you didn't like him or me. Don't use my character again, especially when you know nothing about him and have never interacted with him more then him arresting you or a friend of yours.

I guess...being one of the first and as the good Bokaza said: I should throw my two cents in here. It brings me great joy to know the HOS's feared me when it was Nuke, but to be fair I always just joined the winning side. At the end of the day, that's all he is trying to do. Survive. ((Sometimes this back fired)) But I have to respectfully disagree....to a point. I don't think everyone and their mother should be mercs who would kill all their co-workers in the blink of a eye if you offered them money. But it's also created some interesting Roleplay and some of the best rounds I ever had. From the secret code that Winston and his wife made so they could talk about whatever they wanted without people being able to understand what they said, to Anna Lee and Winston drinking and throwing a party in the bar after a successful (( though non canon)) mission, its created some interesting things to happen. I like to imagine them like the Templars from Assassins creed, they all know each other, they are a small group of people and they are very tight knit. The only person outside this little group who has any possible knowledge is Baranova and that's because Winston has expressed regret off his earlier actions (( Pre Sabre)), and when Dalton Industries fell apart. Now, people may find that using these characters is riding off their popularity and such is cheating as you do Kiento, but it also allows certain situations to arise. Think of it like this...if we played characters who didn't have some kind of personality behind the mask, people would have no problem killing them one round and forgetting their names. In fact, when I first joined the server I remember Nuke ops weren't talked about as characters, and they simply either killed the entire station via nuke or they died before I ever got to see one. (( Though to be fair I played Psych)) Now, everyone knows all these different names: Stein, Sabre, Prophet, Scorpion, Spanker, Phoenix, etc etc. They have become characters in their own right and people hate/love them now. Situations such as.....Stein being captured by the ERT and having a talk with Talia about why he decided to do what he did happen. It suddenly becomes harder to pull the trigger for some because your best friend is staring back at you, and now you have to deal with the thought (( Even if its for one round)) that your friend may have been using you this entire time. I'm very tired when Im writing this, so I could be ranting, but the point of the story is there is a lot of Roleplay that could be brought because of this....BUTTT I don't think everyone should be a operative. There has to be some way to moderate it in my opinion, as it keeps things interesting for many people.

As the only staff online during this time, this is what I saw during my time. Around 3 am I had decided to observe this round, so flying around I missed quite a few things. I missed the initial arrest of Bennit but I was informed of the engine being sabotaged via Ahelp. Flying around I noticed some of the station was losing power to back up their story, so I gave Security permission to go forward and do what they need to do. Watching from there, I saw two engineers attacking a borg, who claimed to have come in to see if everyone was alright (( why he did this I do not know)). These people were arrested and brought to Perma, to which my LOOC was filled with both sides insulting each other over and over. This made me come over, to which I was greeted by Poze screaming that he just joined the round and started screaming regulations at sec in LOOC, Techno calling Brage a twat and you, Cassie, telling me things that I knew were wrong. Sad to say, I stood by my decision to let Sec crack down. One of you sabotaged the power, quite a bit of the station was in the dark for some time before Sec arrested you yet none of you did anything, and two of you beat the shit out of a borg for little to no reason as far as I know. This resulted in Cassie calling me bias, which greatly upset me but I didn't say anything at the time. I then told Techno he had permission to do what he needed to do to escape, and was interrupted by Poze screaming "SEC TOOK THE SOAP, META AS FUCK". When I informed him they did not and that he needed to cool down, and Techno told him that he had it instead, I was met by Poze screaming something along the lines "Are you telling me I need to cool down?!" Now at this point. I should have started LOOC muting, and I defiantly should have muted Poze OOC wise when he brought it to the OOC channel. From here it gets a little fuzzy, but I know Alberyk came in and freed you while I was typing and I decided that instead of pausing the scene I let you continue. Now, you had the Warden who was cult, who could have easily said he released you if you asked him since he was now one of you, but instead you decided to break into the armory and start killing/force converting everyone. Slowly, me and the rest of dead chat watched as you went from 6 people to 15 people and killed those you could not convert, like Terrance Frank. I got a Ahelp at the time that you were also camping Arrivals, and when I went to check it out, arrivals had been depressurized. I found a person laying on the ground but they had logged so I could not ask them about what had happened. I later learned that at least one player who had just gotten out of Cyro was taken and forced to convert mere moments after joining. At this point, I had decided I could not be everywhere at once so I simply started taking names down on people who I would talk too when I got the chance, or give them to admins. Finally, Nar'Sie was summoned. Now at this point, I truly thought about antag banning at least five member of the cult for the disaster of a round I had just witnessed. But, knowing I had a bad day already and was exhausted from dealing with everything that was happening that round, I decided I pass it off to the admins instead of make a rash choice. But, I'm not known for controlling my anger, so I made a comment in OOC...to which some of my favorite comments were "I hope your talking about the shitcurity" and "You are just butt hurt about dying" Now, obviously I was not upset about dying as I had not played. While Security was no saint this round, when someone /sabotages the engine that is keeping everything running including the air that the station is breathing, and the rest of the department does not fix it after being asked too (( he did ask I did see))/ I tend to think Sec is not the worse of the bunch here. My favorite comments came from Cassie though, where after a small spat in OOC spilt out, and a player apologized to me for the round, two comments from Cassie came up. One, I can't remember the exact wording but it was a sarcastic remark about how I was the victim in the situation and we should all feel bad for. Now at this point, you were saying it because I didn't agree with you and I should have muted you for disrespect to staff. But I was a patient guy, the thing I didn't tolerate though was when you told Direwolf to basically "Stop kissing my ass". That got you muted. I'll be asking the admins for the logs to these statements later, when Im not exhausted. But you know, your attitude has always been "Blame Security" so I can't really expect anything different from you. I may be a medical/Sec player most of the time so I have bias, but at least I will admit it. You and Poze were so disrespectful that round that had it not been just me dealing with that, I would have asked staff for something harsher then the slap on the wrist that I gave you. But I was afraid of my bias, so I let you go and continue the round. Look how that turned out. You are not innocent in any way in this situation, the way you make this story sound so that Security seems like these meta game white knights is untrue. Fun fact, I actually do my job and check things. One of you got caught hacking a door and was asked about it, instead of giving a response they ran away and later got caught breaking in. They served two minutes for this, and you turned off the power to a giant station and refused to turn it back on. Were the charges perfect? No. But basically held the entire station hostage until you got what you wanted, (( and you can say you weren't apart of it, but you were)), so you deserved the perma brig none the less. I'll type up a proper response when I get some rest, and I will get the logs from Scope and let the admins handle things from here. But that is my take on things for that round.

Ill be honest, at first I didn't think it was horrible as I didn't see the spoiler. Then after seeing him call you a "Cunt" because of what happened, that is very upsetting. Were trying to cut down on the hostility...apparently, and calling each other Cunt for something as simple as stopping him from emptying all five shots into a person is childish. If he wanted a RP like fight, say so in LOOC before you do so, otherwise you will get baton'd/shot with a taser because you /just pulled a gun out and started shooting a person/. Just my two cents, really tired so Ill elaborate more later.

Player Complaint - Sarko - COMPUTER - Mutiny

I never been so sad. Winston. Carton. Ehh, Lets see. Being the only staff besides...Zander Moon, who is played by a mod and was rather busy at the time and had to leave to go to work, I can try and give my best account of the information. Vira got demoted, security went on strike because we didn't believe in shit. I got promoted to HOS after the HOP made a deal with security. I got the message "Begin Order 66 Commander Carton" and the IAA's, the RD, the captain and a few others were killed/ arrested. The gray tide came in and helped the captain by beating all of sec to death, I shit you not, minus me and like...two others. The AI locked people out of escape, which with the multiple members of security who were hurt in the end of the clo- The end of the gray wars along with others who had been injuried, I was told quite a few people died because they were locked in escape with no tools, no supplies because...they were locked in escape. The AI started siphoning air and making everyone panic, and despite the captain being stripped of rank and a new captain being named, he ignored the rest of the command staff and listened to the now...Assistant? I may be wrong I don't remember. Point is, AI locked us all in and I guess led to the death of some players. I can't say for sure, I was dealing with a player who was spamming the word cunt at me in ahelps because I wouldn't break him out of Permabrig, two players killing people, etc etc. So my testimony is not the best. -
-Talking In general, fun fact. Besides the few times where Carton freaks out on the crew or targets someone to harass, I worry that I'm boring to talk too IC. So much so that I try to avoid conversations that involve my characters now out of the fear that someone will go "....Wow...uh...damn....Im just gonna go before you put me to sleep" -Females I don't understand then, hell I can't talk to them without stuttering a little, so I know I can't play them.
-
and you are now my new favorite player.
-
I think it needs to be done in a very subtle way. Carton, for example, is racist against most Unathai after one cut off his hand during a canon event. He never mentions it (( Only 3 people, maybe 5 max)) know he has any hate for them. But small things show it: If a lizard he never met before, or one he doesn't care for is involved in a crime. He will instantly take the side of the other party less there is enough evidence to prove the lizard is innocent. He will not respond to calls done by them, and will delegate them to cadets if he is the only officer. He is blunt and slightly ruder to them, but never uses racial insults. That being said, he doesn't hate them all. Once he gets to know one or two and they show they aren't the same as the slaver that cut off his hand, he treats them just like any other. But otherwise he is kind of a dick. I think small little things that no one notices but if they thought about it would be cool.

Hi there! Few things I like to add. 1) I didn't want to be a Nuke op, made it very clear I had no intention, but I went along with it anyway 2) Valk, I was paying attention to your plan, in fact just because I was sitting there does not mean I was AFK 3) I went along, I admit by this point it was about 1 am so I was mostly out of it. Bread vanished somewhere and I don't remember much, I remember being sucked out into space and I remember taunting because there was no way I was going to make a good choice if I confronted someone 4) I may have worded this badly Frances, as I said I remember Valk saying "Im going to plant the nuke now", and I did respond Valk, I said "Alright" three times and repeated myself. That I remember, I also remember screaming at Bread because he was gone somewhere. 5) Again, I was sitting the chair because I was exhausted, did not mean I was AFK. 6) Did not help the team game because I had no intention of really staying up, as I had a test the next day but when I was picked as OP decided I wouldn't just afk. SO I stuck around in case things got really bad I could head out, but otherwise I rather just stay in the shuttle and hope the round didn't last 4 hours. TLDR: I told Valk ok when he mentioned setting up the nuke three times, apparently he didn't hear me but I still gave my alright too it. I thought we were going to hold the station hostage, should of asked.

Ill do it again, since he got a few complaints and such. Guess Ill be ready for the hard hits, since Im assuming there is a few. Winston Carton. Go.

Hello there! I recall this ban as it was...rather interesting. You were banned not because of just what you were doing at the time, you were ban because a admin told you after almost talking to you every day for two weeks that your next offense would be a perma ban. So let us talk about your incident with me. For some reason, you and three oddly named and strange players decided "Lets go visit a station that has been abandoned for a while". You then decided you didn't need a space suit or a air tank and went with one of them, one who took a space suit and air tank. Upon arrival, you realized your mistake, you turned and started attacking the man, this resulted in you being set on fire and the other man's suit being ripped so both players were taken out of the round. Now...had you been panicking and thought the only way you could live was to beat this man and take his air tank for your own survival, at least then I would understand. Your plan instead was to beat him , take his airtank, take a few breathes and....then give it back to him. Which...would have accomplished nothing, and gotten you both killed. So, I was prepared to give you a warning before I was informed you were to be perma banned due to the multiple situations that had been piling up. I then banned you and here we are. So I just like to ask, having seen you do the above, released space carp upon the station via holodeck since the crew was bored, etc etc....Why should we give you another chance?

King Carton happened once, we need more King rounds.

Yeah, I agree with both this and the OP. The problem is that people are being blatant about being bad, when really they should at least put in minimal effort to keep up appearances. Plausible deniability at the least. Easier said then done, for example take my last torture of a prisoner. Being one of the more well known abusive officers, I have learned to cover my tracks pretty well. I've had a engineering friend cut cameras to the cells so I couldn't be caught at CC, called in favors, etc. In my last scenario a man had killed Kate McMullen because he wanted to test a new gun out and she didn't agree to be the subject or something. Point is, he stabbed her with a few poles and she bled out. Seeing the man taunt security about his kill, I called in a few favors. The warden looked the other way while the Detective in RP stood in front of the camera as I beat the man until my character felt satisfied, I left followed by the detective and removed my bloody armor before coming into view of any cameras. The detective waited a bit after my departure so that I had some deniability in the matter, and taking Maintenon I washed the jumpsuit and armor in the shower. The three of us then separated where I went to the medical lobby, and decided to call in that the man was hurt. (( curse my inability to remove someone from the round without feeling bad)), and was met by Vira and Ana who know Cartons history well asking him not if he did it, but what he did. While he doesn't abuse prisoners much anymore, and I guess has some deniability, it was clear he did it and he made a flimsy excuse for the pair as he knew they had no real evidence besides what they thought and a crazy guy who murdered someone with poles word against him. Even medical made a comment about it. Sorry, turned into story time but point is, you can cover your tracks well but if people know you are not a nice guy they will still know it was you, or in rare cases when a prisoner kills themselves and you find them they may blame you for murder too.

[Resolved] Incident Report 3/04/2457 - Jade Rathel
josh1133 replied to GlamourChariot's topic in Closed reports
To whom it may concern: I am exhausted with writing these, not only for myself but now for Jade as well. Never before have I seen such a sad excuse for a report, multiple reports even...It reminds me much of a young child telling on their classmate because they were called stupid. Jade Rathel is a excellent officer, one who I would trust my life with if needed and at times, it has come to that. As far as I am aware, I have survived these encounters thanks to Miss Rathel and her skills. Jade does call people stupid, moron, and other such names. But if one were to look past the insults, and stop being petty for a moment...one would see it's almost a tick of hers at most, and should not being taken seriously. Having been one of the first people Miss Rathel labeled "Moron", I can say that she does not mean it, as most of security has asked about it before and simply realized that it is part of who she is. What I do find upsetting, almost disgusting, is that instead of going to the HOS, going to the Captain during the shift and seeing if we can calmly ask Miss Rathel to stop (( As I have done many times before and she has, which I respect greatly)), we instead push for her to get fired. There is only one instance in which her behavior has crossed a line and it was dealt with right away. But it truly shocks me that so many crew members push for someone to lose their job because they are called stupid, moron, and other childish names. Would you demand a child to be expelled from school if she called another student stupid? No? Then why, may I ask, do we let such childish things affect us. Firing Miss Rathel is beyond ridiculous, and the idea that more then one person is entertaining this idea shows quite a few things about the crew of the Aurora. If a person is so self conscious about themselves that instead of asking another Sec officer, the HOS, or the Captain to ask her to stop ((which we have done successfully before, it only takes a PDA message)) and instead push for a woman to lose her job, I do not believe Miss Rathel is the issue here. There is only one person in my time as a Security officer that has any right to be angry at Miss Rathel and I have been handling that situation personally, and would like to apologize to that person as my words are not directed at them. There may be other situations that I am not aware of like the person I am thinking of, but that is not what we are discussing. The point is, Miss Rathel calling people stupid is a problem...But a bigger problem we seem to have is people abusing the system to get others fired, as its now turned into "Someone said something mean, please fire/demote them so they stop being mean". Get Security, Get a head, Get the Captain to deal with it. Pushing for the woman's job is ridiculous. -W. Carton. -
Troll character. He runs around with LoneTophat and claims to be related to Jade, but Voltage didn't approve this from my knowledge? Basically comes around to just troll, played by Rekjaki or whatever their Ckey is. As much as I like to not count them, it did happen and for that I apologize. ng the conflict. Mind, there was plenty else going on, but rushing over there when he co-worker is telling her that nobody is hurt and that it's being resolved? Problematic. Its always better to have two officers on a situation in case there is a problem, its actually standard for another officer to head over because of possible dangerous situations. Unless there was three other officers around you, being alone is never a smart idea and its common practice as many a time we have told our team we have it handled only to be stabbed/ripped apart by hulk/ set on fire/ etc. It might not have happened during your incident, but she did the right thing by being safe then sorry, less you already had other officers there, but you didn't mention any others with you so I'm assuming no. I never heard that but Im not on 24/7, no comment besides agree with you. I wasn't there for the chef thing so again, I can't comment. I may not agree with Kiwi's way of handling HOS (( If this wasn't kiwi then I apologize to whoever plays the HOS)), and I remember you bringing this up before, but did you actually ask him why he did this? Because I remember you brought it up but you never actually asked him why he did what he did, and I think that may be a important piece of information before going "oh your bad sec". If he has no excuse, then I wont defend, but only hear one side of the story, a friend of yours I may point out, is not enough to say "Oh sec is out of control". When I hear Kiwi's side, then Ill make a decision on how well that situation was handled.

I actually have a few questions for Jaimi now that they make a few points as at first I thought this was about officers like Carton and Jade but now you are listing things I don't believe either of us had done? First thing first, who harrasses Engineering? I mean, besides Nasir when we get into a verbal fight I don't remember many officers even speaking to engineering in general as the whole "Pack" mentality caused them to try to avoid each other most of the time. The only time I remember a officer harassing engineering recently was a new guy telling Oliver Stefan to take off his mask, which if you read his security record you would know that would kill him. But the moment Stefan told us on Comms, Security jumped on that guy and made him back off before apologizing to Stefan? Maybe I'm just missing it but besides Nasir who we mostly hold a grudge against IC, I'm curious as to who is doing this? I mean....Unless a engineer just starts doing repairs and the AI tells us something is wrong, we don't tend to walk over and go "What are you doing", at least I don't. I just would like to know these officers names now because...Maybe I just miss it? I tend not to patrol in pairs as I don't roleplay much and AFK often when patrolling so I guess I am just missing it? I mean, the only times I really know Security going after someone is when we are insulted or someone who has made a /very/ bad impression (( For example, Kingmatt's characters tend to always cause Security to want to rip their hair out...all of them)), minus Jade who starts the shift off by going "Hey losers" but once getting to know her you realize she isn't really insulting you its just how she speaks, I don't know who else really goes out of their way to random people and is a bully? I'm not saying we aren't bullies at all, but unless we hate you or you insult us first I don't see us going up to the new guy and going "SUP LOSER" and slapping their work out of their hands like its high school, but if thats happening I would at least like to know the names, both as a person in security and as a mod.
-
No one cares about the god damn hostages! Every time we get a hostage some bullcrap happens. I seen people pose as characters that people know but aren't working on the shift, such as yesterdays nuke round. You know what happened instead of people giving a shit? AI shouting "I DO NOT NEED TO CARE ABOUT THEM, KILL THEM. KILL THEM." People just going "Not my problem" FFS its a person still! I ain't saying Sec needs to rush in and be a hero and all that shit, but fuck don't keep insulting the god damn terrorist when they are killing someone who goes to work with you, someone who has family and a life and has just as much right to live as you do, and for the love of god! Stop insulting the god damn terrorist when they threaten to bomb the station because "Ur 2 edgy 5 them", unless no bombs go off for the first god damn hour, you should be scared! Fucking someone calls in a bomb threat they evacuate the building, but apparently on the Aurora when someone calls in a bomb threat every member of the crew just passes the comms around to talk shit to the caller. I just wanted to say that.
-
...Least I got the name right! God damn it. Ill fix that. On a side note: ...This wasn't me right (( Carton))? I remember at one point I was told by the AI someone was breaking into the RD office and they were gathering dangerous materials and I remember rushing there, I think it was a Tarajan if I remember right, I don't know if I tased them or not and I don't remember them signing at me but I do remember the rest, but Im actually generally nervous now that I crossed the line from "Dick in Security" to "Security absolute shit"

My argument against Jaimi/Delta By Joshua [REDACTED] Well. Yeah. I mean, he did commit Illegal detention by trapping her in a closet, we have slapped that charge on, and by definition he did do it. Assault was too far In my opinon, both IC and OOC. But this is the part that always annoys me. No one can hold a god damn grudge if you are security without being called shitcurity Since I have started Security over six months ago, I have seen Nasir: Assault three officers, and one of the officers has not returned (( At least, I haven't seen him or heard his name mentioned)), since the assault. IC'ly, I assumed Nasir ended his career and scared him from ever coming back. Stood outside medical bay after a Security officer was stabbed by a Assistant (( To be fair I don't remember the situation exactly, he was stabbed and I know Travis and Nasir stood outside and did the following, if this is canon or not, I am not sure but I considered it canon, if Nightmare ask me though I will void it)) with Travis Davis and insulted the downed officer with comments like "Stupid dog", "It's what he deserved" etc etc. He did this in front of three officers who were worried for their friend, and laughed at the fact the man was hurt in the line of duty. Almost every time we have a call down to arrest a engineer or one of Nasir's friends, we slightly dread it because it turns into a thirty minute thing of arguing with Nasir and him threatening us/ wanting to fight/ etc etc. So yes. You bet your ass that Nasir now has a repuation with most of security to the point where the moment his name is mentioned, all we think about is the shit he has done, gotten away with, etc etc and we go after him. We count every insult he throws at us as a charge of insulting a officer, every threat of a fight as threatening, we stack up the charges because that is all we can do against a person like Nasir. So it may not be "Justice", but if you are telling us we can't hold a grudge IC then I'm sorry but you can't tell me how to make my character feel. That being said, 30 minutes is still very excessive and was far too much, it should not have happened and I will say that IC and OOC until my voice is gone. I just wanted to put these two quotes together because of two reasons. First of all, if you truly believe you are unbias, you really need to rethink that. That is like me saying I am unbias towards Security, we are all a little bias and judging by your past post, you are bias to engineering. As for the first quote, every department has that. Especially Engineering, to be frank, Security and Engineering are not that different in my opinion, they hate each other but at the end of the day a lot of characters are the same. I be glad to make a list of comparisons if I really need too. I like Nightmare, and I am unsure if he is aware of this but I also play one of the Therapist that talks to Nasir when he is on. OOC wise, Nasir is a great character and my Psych views him as a very nice, caring person. As Carton though, he has attacked my Co-workers IC, insulted my friends who have been injured protecting him and his friends, etc etc. Now, thirty minutes is again, way too much, but I hope he is at least aware that we do hold grudges IC against him so I'm hoping he knows that we are going to be as harsh as we can possibly be against him. Not to mention the fact, is that there other characters like Nasir that the group of Security holds as "Trouble makers" "Nuisances", and it always gets to me, always does when those players get arrested after so many times that Security just starts being assholese in general to them, they talk in Dsay or LOOC "Oh Shitcurity at it again" or "Officer [Redacted] Being a asshole again" because it sounds like they just brush it off as "Its just this person on a power trip, I didn't do anything wrong" and it /really/ gets to me to the point where I have to pass the persons character over to another officer at this point because I am to bias OOC wise to deal with them. They don't have to stop calling us shit, in fact I even call Carton Shitcurity, but it seems like these players don't even take responsibilty or don't assume we will remember what they have done. Again, I am not saying the 30 minutes was alright, but I am saying that players need to be aware Security are people too, and they do hold grudges after enough incidents I do like Nasir, OOC wise I have gotten to know him as both Carton and my therapist and I find it interesting each time I interact with him. I have seen both OOC and IC wise I have seen Engineering kill a person they all agreed they do not like (( Though this was not a canon round and was justified imo)), I have seen them turn Engineering into a fortress to keep Nuke ops out only to cause more problems for the ERT/ Security trying to take down the ops. I have seen them create huge incidents for arresting one of their own on a minor charge. Hell, one time they made a ambrosia plant in the construction area and sold Ambrosia to everyone on the station until we raided them. (( This was done by Kingmatt)) I am not saying any of this is bad, but I am simply putting this out here because you: A) Mostly play engineering, which is why I am comparing the two so much. B)It shows you every department does things, not as much as Security Ofc but we all have a reputation. Alright. I can get behind that. I made my character to be a "Antagonist" or to be blunt, someone like this and if IC actions are taken I won't complain OOC wise. I think you have too little faith in characters, but to be fair we are dicks IC and I am one of them so I won't disagree either. No. Not IC wise at least. In fact I support it. I enjoyed this, he knew what you were doing and it only pissed him off more, but I enjoyed this greatly. I encourage you to keep doing this with other characters. annnnd you lost me. See, that's where I have a problem. I usually would agree with you, but I don't think you, I, anyone really has the right to say "Yeah your character is now fired because these heads have a problem with your attitude. So. Your character is done. You can't play them anymore". No, I suggest a...different approach. Re-assign them to civilian roles. Librarian, Bartender, Janitor, etc, maybe make them medical interns, engineering apprentices, etc etc. But the moment you say "Your character is stressing me out IC and OOC wise, they cause problems, so I'm going make sure your character is fired, and end your character basically " is kind of ...fucked up? I mean. I use to play on MC Roleplays where it was either the person's choice to have their character leave, or another person would have to Roleplay fight them and once one of the characters died there was nothing else you can do. But having some captain go "Naw. I don't like the way you do things, your fired" and then you are told you can't bring the character back? That is such a bullshit ending to a character it leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth. Everyone has the right to end their character, and ending someone's character, ending other people's stories with that character, all the months spent Roleplaying with them, building their character up and having development only to be fired because you find them to be horrible and stressful? I'm actually a little angry you are so alright with ripping a character, months or roleplay, and other people who have stories with that character because of the stress. Have them switched to a different department, have them go to mandatory psych evaluations, anything...but ...I have no more words for this. I agree, and I was not going to post until this became a issue. I agree. This is true, but there is more. At least, not for some of us. They are viewed as Gang, even ask a few a few of the old engineering players, they will say "Yeah Engineering is a gang". Not that it's bad or anything, in fact a department that is so close is something that should be encouraged. Thats actually what we should all strive for, but Engineering has killed a person before, they also turned that one empty room (( The construction area?)) into a ambrosia farm before and Security had to raid it. During a extended round. That being said, what you said is true. Roy Wyatt, Conservan Xiulle (( I am so sorry if I butchered that name)), Oliver Stefan, Jade Ravera, Etc etc are all great engineers I am always excited to see on station. Just be aware, Engineering is not just seen that way. I actually see Medical as the most terrifying place on the station. I have gotten to personally know quite a few of the doctors and...Ill be honest. Im afraid both IC and OOC wise to piss most of them off. What you said is, once again true, but there is more to it then just that. Again, it might just be me but after I been shot quite a few times both as my medical character and my security character, I view most of Science as batshit insane who, unless they have certain people in the department, will kill us all. Kidding...Kinda. I mean...sorta...They aren't that bad...But they are crazy and they can make a shift either really fun, or a shift...very...very...very...very...very...very...very...very hard. This is true. We are nosey, our job sometimes require it, but Ill admit we are more nosey then we should be a lot of the times too. We are Brutish, well can be. If its our job to take you down, we are going too. Sometimes we skip right to the batons because well...We aren't always the most robust, we run into our pepper spray, we flash ourselves, etc etc. To be honest, the Baton is just the easiest thing besides the taser. We are also foul mouth, but you have a engineer walk up to you and explain in extreme detail horrible acts done to children (( Which has actually happened and I will not go into more detail then that)) and then ask if you like what you hear because he is bored. After about 9 shifts over and over again of that happening to you for 2 hours, one tends to be a little sour when coming to work. Not saying any of this is justified at all, but I simply feel the need to say all this now. Final Thoughts! That being all said, I feel like I picked on Engineering a lot here, and for that I apologize. I enjoy all of the players who play engineering, I enjoy the characters and I truly hope I did not offend you, if I did please say so, I would like to apologize and maybe make my point more clear or retract it if I worded it horribly (( As I tend to do)) I was not going to post all this, I am bias, I felt bad for Voltage as he was arguing with two people at once so I hope you guys don't mind me stepping in to help him at least a little. But even with everything you said, I understood everything you said and to a degree, I agree with you. We do need to tone it down at times and such. But. Actually got under my skin. To destroy a players character, months of roleplay...Lets take Carton for example, as he has a report right now that is asking for him to be fired and its my character so I know him best. (( I will say this now, I may be taking this a little hard as it is my character, one I am attached too emotionally so again, bias)) Carton started off on Station Carton tried to make friends as a nice officer Carton was harassed by Medical/ Engineering/ Science every time he tried to talk Carton got angry Carton began to become more confrontational, yelling and screaming Carton attacked Travis Davis and nearly started a fight with Nasir after insulting a officer who had been stabbed Carton met Chenmo. Carton began therapy with Doctor Baranova After multiple sessions, Carton calmed down for a while Therapy stopped, Carton was confronted by a person who claimed to do some very horrible stuff and lost his cool Carton then decided to take his anger out on people who deserved it Carton met Dalton, began working for him Sessions begin with Baranova again, though he finds it harder to control himself with pressures from a friend of his Carton begins dating Chenmo Carton begins investigating the Jawdats. Carton brings his evidence to the IAA and the Jawdat investigation begins Carton begins to investigate more, and eventually confronts Houssam Carton begins to open up to multiple people, sharing much about himself with a few he calls his friends Carton gets married Carton admits to Baranova quite a bit about himself, and he starts sessions again Stressful situations at home cause Carton to break down twice in front of most of the crew, once in the bar, once on the shuttle. Carton is jumped by two people, and despite not actually assaulting one of them as he was trying to get better, he is given a option by Vira to shape up or be fired Knowing what she is doing, he tries to keep his job, but after being shot for litterally no reason, he loses his cool and punches someone in the face Carton assumes he is now fired, and has decided to be a complete asshole his final days on station while still doing his job. There is a lot more...a lot more, thats what I can remember in two minutes. But you know. Just go ahead and fire him, because all the friends who had RP with him, my what now...5 months of playing him, that doesn't mean anything. I mean, he is just too stressful to deal with as a head so instead of just making him a bartender or librarian lets just make me get rid of the character, right? But if were doing that. I want Nasir Ha'kim gone too for the multiple assaults. I want Jade gone. I want Travis, I want Walter Keck for his record mentioning possible rape charges against him, I want anyone who has ever done the do at work fired, I want Avery fired for his records, I want Essel fired for the complaints against her, I want Jaylor fired for being a former pirate, I want anyone with the last name Jawdat fired for being involved in organized crime for a little. I want every botanist who ever grew Ambrosia fired, I want all Tarajans to be fired since they are Rebels in a rebellion that Nanotrasen doesn't approve of. I want IPC who talk badly about Nano even once fired because they might turn against us and become our cybernetic overlords. If you can't tell. I don't really want those people fired, and if they were, I would probably resign as a mod after this post because of how bad I would feel. Point was, you should not rip people's characters away because they are stressful to deal with, that's unfair. Find another solution. Again. Sorry if I offended anyone. Edit: I actually feel really bad on how much I ripped Engineering on this one, they are a fantastic department the one or two times I tried to join them as a engineer and are some of the nicest faces on the station both OOC and IC wise. Again, going to apologize if I offended any of them, or anyone else for that matter but I really just went after Engineering so special apology to them. They deal with a lot of shit, rebuilding the station when Security accidently blows up a fuel tank or when the Nuke ops blow up the bar, etc etc and they deserve a lot of credit for what they do as it can sometimes take up their entire round. So again, sorry and thank you.

My argument against Security by Joshua [REDACTED] I will start off on a lighter note before I get into this shitstorm. Thanks buddy, I preferred the term "Lost his cool for situations that did not call for it" but to be blunt yeah, he has lost his cool and done things that were simply irrational. But enough joking around! To be fair, this is to a degree, what we should be like. We are the peacekeepers of the station and we should follow the rules that have been placed before us, as I was told once "We are private security" and at times I like to think we are just below the police, but should have the same level of professionalism in most situations. But I will say, I find it fucking hilarious that this has basically become about Davis, Jade and Carton because lets be honest. It was from the very start, maybe with one or two officers in mind as well. Funny thing about that is, this whole Nasir situation? Rathel was asleep (( Voltage DC'd)), Carton said that the time was too long and agreed with the Detective, but the Warden, HOS, and Jawdat were the ones who put Nasir in there for thirty minutes. Notice how they haven't been mentioned once though? I find that somewhat funny to say the least. That being said, we do have to take responsibility for what our characters do, we are assholes of the station. Sometimes we do go overboard and we have to suffer the consequences of our actions. We should cool it down at certain times as well for OOC reasons, but we can talk about that another time. I'll be honest, like Voltage I am a player who main's security so this post will be short, especially compared to the next post. For that I apologize, but I simply cannot turn off my bias, though I will not say I am not at fault for certain actions. Now for the next part.....
