One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I am looking to make a character who works in R&D and a Skrell would be best suited for it. The fact Skrells do not find any meaning for gender other than reproduction will offer a unique roleplaying experience and the Skrell biology and mechanics will be interesting to explore. Skrell views on gender and focus on expanding their own intelligence is something I wish to explore and will make for interesting roleplaying opportunities. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The most noticeable difference between Humans and Skrell apart from the obvious biology is that gender holds little meaning other than reproduction and the relationships between Skrells is purely to further their race and to expand each others intellect. Skrell emotions are hard for other races to read and they have trouble expressing their emotions without the use of song or their native language. Things like petty insults, racism and drama seem to be below the Skrell. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? Apart from the Skrell biology which is uniquely awesome I think it will be really cool to play as a Skrell as they have no interest in forming relationships around "love". Interaction with Humans and other aliens will offer a unique roleplaying experience and playing as a Skrell will create new roleplaying opportunities. Character Name: Halifax Kazarian Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Halifax was hatched on board her family owned research ship along with 67 other siblings but only 2 of them made it all the way to maturity. The Kazarian bloodline is notorious for laying large number of eggs with defects and no more than 3 rarely make it to maturity; something the Kazarian family research extensively to find a way to prevent. All personal on the ship are from the Kazarian bloodline and leadership falls to the eldest Skrell. The main function of the ship is to obtain life forms from other planets for study and also to provide housing for the Kazarian young until they are old enough to venture out on other endeavours. While living on the ship Halifax spent most of her time studying anatomy, robotics, science along with complex devices; usually aiding her siblings in the dissection of the life forms they obtained. The Kazarian family have a strong relationship with Nanotrasen sending them their most skilled children to work for them once they reach the age of 20, Halifax was one of the few sent to work for NT eventually finding work on the NSS Aurora. Halifax would spend what little spare time she had studying music, both Skrell and other races. She is particularly interested in Human music and the history behind it. Before working for Nanotrasen she had never met a Human and decided to use the opportunity to study them more closely. Many people find Halifax's behaviour to be strange and invasive as she does not see them as her equal but as another life form to be studied. One of her main goals in studying Humans is that she hopes to obtain enough information to replicate their musical interments; something her family has little interest in and find as a waste of resources, forcing her to do so in secret. What do you like about this character? She is very different compared the other characters I play, her invasiveness and the fact she tries to study Humans without their knowledge will also provide interesting roleplaying opportunities. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think my ability to roleplay is good, depending on the given situation although my spelling and grammar could use some improvement. During the time I play it seems we have little to no command staff apart from the odd HOS and CE. Why did you come to Aurora?: I like the emphasis on roleplay and the lack of idiots running around randomly killing everyone. Also the admins are fair and don't go around abusing the powers they have. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Sure have. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is quite literally playing the role of a person and acting how you think this person would act in any given situation even if it differs from how you would act. Some people even make a character based around themselves so that they can live out situations they would not usually be faced with in their normal lives. Staying in character is a big part of roleplay and breaking character should be avoided at all times to not ruin other RPers experience. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To keep an eye on the department they command over, make sure people are doing the jobs they are given and to help out new players who might not know to do certain jobs. Also to add to the roleplay experience by providing players with a boss character to interact with. Character name: Ava Kalashnikova Character age: 34 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Ava was born in a small outpost on Mars which was owned by a Russian private military group. Growing up she lived the military life; she studied medicine as well as being trained in all forms of combat. Ava would earn the rank of Corporal and served most of her time as a field medic. A NT owned cargo transport set off a distress beacon which was intercepted by the military force Ava served in. They sent a small squad including Ava to investigate the transport and to steal anything of worth. Ava along with her squad were quickly killed by an unknown alien force once they boarded the cargo vessel. Eventually the cargo ship was reclaimed by NT and the aliens inside were disposed of; Ava along with the rest of her dead squad and the cargo ships crew were taken to a Nanotrasen owned hospital where she was the only one able to be cloned. Being cloned caused her to forget how to speak Russian along with other important details about the exact location of her home. After being cloned Ava began working for NT as a Doctor, specializing as a surgeon and after a few years she found employment on the Aurora. What do you like about this character?: She's not your typical doctor and often has a strange approach to doing things. She doesn't back down from a fight and is loyal to her friends. She knows she is tough and doesn't feel like she has to go around and prove it to everyone and she likes to joke around even pulling the odd prank. What do you dislike about this character?: The fact she is a Human, I would prefer to play as one of the Alien races if I was able to. Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff? (Please note that Head characters must be over 30, unless given special clearance): She meets the required age to become a command staff and her knowledge of medicine and surgery is top notch. Ava still has much to learn about genetics and virology but she knows the basics. She is willing to help out others and had previous experience in high pressure situations and combat situation making her a cool head when trouble is a foot. Why?: Ava knows the ins and outs of the medbay and even though she has worked mostly as a surgeon she does have basic knowledge of chemistry, genetics and virology. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I would say my roleplaying skills are alright, I could improve on my spelling and grammar but I think my rp is fine. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I like the idea of playing as a giant space reptile as it would offer new roleplaying opportunities and I am a big fan of Unathi. I want to make a character who works in security as a warden or officer and I feel a Unathi security officer would be fun to play as. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Unathi use a lot of body language to communicate with each other and they refer to each other on a last name basis unless they are close friends, family etc.The way Unathi treat Females is quite different to other Aliens and will provide new roleplaying situations. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? I want to play as an gigantic serpent creature Warden/security officer who communicates in a series of grunts and short sentences as it would be a lot different to playing as a Russian surgeon. I always liked the Unathi race and enjoyed playing as them over the other races you can choose from. I have played as a Unathi a lot on other servers and I think I can play one well. Character Name: Vulcan Laz'a'rus Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Vulcan Laz'a'rus was born into a tribe of nomadic water merchants who live in the very hottest regions of Moghes. They would travel from city to city selling water to the locals in exchange for supplies like food and weaponry. These Unathi merchants were trusted by all who met them because of their high quality merchandise and the many acts of kindness they would preform. Known as a peaceful tribe they would often aid lost travellers and act as guides for anyone wanting to navigate the vast deserts of Moghes. Each Family has their own caravan and Vulcan would act as one of the guards, riding along side this families caravan on a Sissalik. Vulcan is a Unathi of few words, he only communicates through a series of grunts, short sentences or giving single word responses although he is known to talk more when using his native language. This may give people the idea that he may not know much Sol common but this is untrue, he prefers to keep communication short and to the point. He holds a strong belief in giving respect and trust to everyone but if his trust is broken it Is extremely difficult to earn back. Not one for telling lies or deception he will give anyone who wishes to hear it his most honest and most times blunt opinion. Vulcan willingly follows orders from those in positions of power and people he considers his superior unless it is something that would break his moral code, dishonour him or his family. He sees showing emotions like anger, affection and sadness as a sign of weakness and attempts to hide his feelings which leads some to believe that he does not have feeling. Vulcan brought great honour to his family when he was offered a job joining NT's security division and after many years serving as a cadet he was promoted to officer. What do you like about this character? He's a lot different to my other characters and will provide some unique roleplaying experiences. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think it is fine, my spelling and grammar could use some work. I feel I will be able to play a convincing Unathi. Notes: Completely rewrote the character to make him much more honourable character who would fit in easier on the station. Thankssssss for reading ^_^

It belonged to her Father and was given to her by her Mother after he died. She has held onto it ever since to remind her of her family and where she has came from. Used to show her Russian heritage which she is proud of and also to keep her warm in the coldness of space. Adds more personality to the character. Item function(s): No special functions just a regular hat Item description: An old Ushanka which looks to have been worn in many battles. Item appearance: The same as the default ushanka but in white with a red star on the front. Additional comments: I wouldn't mind just the default ushanka if making a white one is too much trouble
