  1. Unless something has changed that I'm unaware of, all IPCs get tagged regardless of brain-type.
  2. Genetics being gone is no more than a temporary byproduct of the code switch. It should be returning along with the new map. It's my understanding that genetics is staying gone... but irregardless, a geneticists can't restore a person's original UI unless they already have it backed up. The best I've ever seen a geneticist do is give someone a random protohuman's UI... hopefully of the right gender.
  3. I strongly agree. This ability basically exists to create a distraction... and it does so at the cost of irreversibly disfiguring characters, usually with no RP. I'd rather be ganked. Alternately, making the effect of the sting temporary would pretty much solve the problem as well.
  4. What's so bad about transhumanism? It can be a little hard to reason about if taken to a logical extreme, but not more so than alien intelligence (the artificial kind included). So what's the big deal? Check your organic privilege, bro. Also, evidence of IPCs having souls can be clearly seen during cult rounds, and the cult and it's magic are cannon... I thought SS13 was, at it's core, a paranoia/murder simulator built around an atmospherics simulator, and based on 80s and 90s science fiction. Am I wrong?
  5. Get someone with full length braids to stand next to an exosuit fabricator. Click and drag them onto the fabricator. Enjoy the blood and screaming. As I'm currently working on upgrading the hair-eating code I'll add similar functionality to some of the other machines I'm imbuing with a terrible thirst for kawaii hair. All I ask is that people remember to giggle cutely as their friend's victim's hair is devoured.
  6. "Pink Alert: All hands to erogenous zones." But, seriously, color-coded department-specific alerts sound good as there are a lot of moderate level threats which aren't necessarily about sec stuff. Like slime infestations, corrosive biomasses, hull breaches, and so on. I wouldn't bother with changing red at all, though. Swiping can be complicated enough, particularly if the other person doesn't know what they're doing (it happens), and creating complex color codes will increase general confusion regarding current alert level.
  7. The point is to make slipping a real possibility, not to turn every combat or triage scene into a slapstick bit.
  8. 30% may be a bit high... a 10% chance is sufficient to make it a hazard which should be respected, and to occasionally allow for blood-related comedy, without being more of a bother than it's worth. Oh, and it should apply to vomit, too. People who regularly walk through vomit deserve to slip and look like idiots.
  9. Oh, yes, I like this idea. It'd probably be relatively easy to code, too, if a bit time consuming to add sound text to all that stuff.
  10. Okay, so, I play one of the RDs who enforces this bit of paperwork (btw, whatever you do, don't look at the expedition form required to telescience off the station), and I'll agree it's excessive for anything other than mech construction. But I do like that it requires RD authorization for mech construction as there is a very limited supply of starting materials in the mech bay which can be easily exhausted by careless construction.
  11. Or just have it fill the container with water it's not full, and empty it if it's full. That's sorta like washing out a glass and doesn't require any new interface stuff. Just, you know, don't wash out glasses of potassium...
  12. Oh yes please! I can't remember how many times I've had to explain that the AI can't set alert levels.
  13. Current mechanics are as follows: Grinder, exosuit fabricator, and gibber have a chance of catching floor length braids and very long hair and doing damage. You can also, fun fact, feed someone's hair into the exosuit fabricator for even more cruelty. I do think more machines should get this feature, though. Watching people get their hair caught makes me happy.
  14. At some point before the buggers came to work on Aurora there was probably a command staff briefing which covered shit like "how to exploit the Vaurca" and "how to keep the liberals off our backs while exploiting the Vaurca". No doubt during all this the person giving the briefing reminded everyone that it's important to at least pay lip service to diplomacy and interspecies cooperation, because doing so makes the exploitation easier. For most command staff that's just an order from corporate, which they can blow off at their own risk. But for everyone who decided "I'll let NT put a mind-control implant in my brain so they'll give me a better job", there's no good excuse. But, really, even without the implants there's no good excuse for being blatantly speciesist (it's speciesism, btw, not racism, I don't know why that's so hard for people to get this right) on comms (which can be intercepted, btw), or in official documents. Not, at least, if you're a captain, and probably not for any head of staff who doesn't want to attend a mandatory and unpaid corporate image workshop, either.
  15. Keep trying. You'll make a funny some day.
  16. Middle Managers don't get golden parachutes. Those aren't a pay thing, either; they're a 'if the company is taken over and you are fired, you get a huge severance bonus' thing to discourage potential takeovers. When jokes get taken too seriously. Be careful, kiddos, or this could be you!
  17. No. Exactly.
  18. But does anyone give two shits about the loredevs?
  19. Yeah, vote influencing wasn't the problem, it was the commotion people make while doing it.
  20. Yeah, but this is the corporate sector. Where are our golden parachutes escape pods?
  21. I'm pretty sure the (poorly enforced) restriction on vote influencing isn't to avoid butthurt or vote influencing, but rather to silence the screaming madness of everyone trying to convince everyone to vote for what they want. Certainly that's the point of having OOC automatically turn off during the vote.
  22. Trolling from those gwumpy anime haters? XD
  23. Well, one of LiLITH's personalities is basically a reskinned GLaDOS, so it makes sense. XD
  24. LiLITH only needs one theme song: making science!
  25. "Borg, keep people from going in here." "Borg, don't let anyone run off with this evidence." "Borg, catch that fucking baldie." Replace "borg" with "bug" where needed. Borgs are as smart as a person, and smarter than some people. Bound vaurca aren't.
