  9. The Red Winter - Terran Heavy Battlecruiser Alignment: Independent Mercenary Ship. Armaments: Port and Starboard fighter bays, housing a total of 20(10 per bay) HORNET automated drone fighters. On the front and back sides of the ship, around each vital system, is a point-defense turret system, consisting of 20mm Automated Turrets. Each drone and turret is capable of being manually overridden from the bridge in a Drone Control point. The Bridge, situated at the fore of the ship, is seemingly unprotected, being completely visible in an old-school style front viewport. The Bridge actually is protected by an advanced shield system that is heavier in the area around the bridge. The Ship has two front cannons, capable of punching a hole straight through any un-shielded ship. The ships fire depleted uranium shells, that accelerate to a speed that is near untraceable with automated defenses. The ship is also armed with various side missile pods that are able to aimed and fired via a Missile Control port on the bridge. In the hangars, there are two large, spear shaped ships. These are the boarding ships. They are fast, light, and very durable. They are unshielded, and are able to be destroyed, but are also able to pierce through hull in order to deliver troops to the interior of a hostile ship. Crew: The ship is mostly comprised of ex-militia from crushed rebellions, or Mercenaries from the seedy underbellies of population centers. Their jobs range from chef, and janitors, to boarding Marines, and Drone pilots. The Captain is a former governor of a rebellion that abandoned his colony to save his own skin. He is a wanted criminal, as his most of his ship. Engine: The Engine is a very unstable FTL Drive, capable of miscalculations, or complete and utter failure. The ship is powered by solar panels that can fold inward during a heated battle. The panels reside on each side of the ship, and will point towards any solar light source that they can. The ship cannot turn very well, and has to drive forward into order to turn any direction. INTERESTING FACT: This ship is able to be hired. If given adequate resources, or a reason to side with you, they will betray whomever they may fight for at the moment, and fight for you. Their only loyalty is money. -WIP FOR NOW-
  10. +1 because Kiwi is good at video games, and knows to roleplay amazingly. Power to the people.
  11. >Yasuo is bad >I play everything except support >Shaco isn't just an early game gimmick that can't win any games that would be won 4v5 anyway If you know how to play Shaco right, You can win. It's just a matter of being good at video games.
  12. The lack of Fear RP is why I try and play average joe's who run from any sort of dark hallway. I try and go out of my way to balance things out.
  13. Basic Information Byond Account: Valkrae Character Name(s): Robert Dalton, Shiela Maldin, Marcus Armstrong, Yuri Pavlov AI Name(s): VALKRYIE Preferred means of contact: Skype, Steam, or my phone. I'm not comfortable posting my personal phone number onto a public forum. PM me personally, and I'll give it to you. Age: 18 Timezone: Eastern -5 GMT When are you on Aurora?: When I’m on Aurora depends on the day. Weekends is usually as soon as I wake up, which is around 1 to 4 PM. Weekdays, however, I’m usually on the late night shift, from 11 PM to around 4 AM. On breaks from school, one can expect me on consistently from when I wake up, to around 2 to 3 AM in the morning. Experience My experience in moderation, or staffing of any sort of roleplay server comes from other sources. Those sources being Minecraft roleplay servers, and a skype RP group. The list of minecraft servers, however, is very extensive. The more heavily populated servers are: Aeonis, Ashes of Our Fathers, Akavir, Hareveth, and Darkahlen. How long have you played SS13?: I’ve played off and on for around 2 years now. How long have you played on Aurora: Around two to three months. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: In the two months I’ve played on Aurora, I’ve learned a good bit about the game. I’d suffice to say I know a working amount of the build, and have the means to find out anything needed that I need to know. Security, Robotics, and Cargo are the departments I know the most. I can easily pick up and learn any part of the build if given time, and sufficient knowledge. I like to consider myself a fast learner. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: None, however I assume that, aside from some commands and other coding differences, it's fairly the same as Minecraft, or general moderating in anything. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Yes, I have been banned. I was three day banned during an incident involving lag, a shovel, and an accidental death. I was also synth banned because I was being an idiot as a maintenance drone, and basically ignored my laws. I’ve since moved passed that stage, but I admit to everything on my notes as being my fault, and completely my fault. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play on Space Station 13 because I enjoy it’s complexity, and it’s possibility for heavy roleplay. It’s reminiscent of Wurm Online in how complex it is, but for free, and with a much tighter knit community. Why do you play on Aurora?: I play on Aurora for a variety of reasons. One reason is the quality of roleplay on this server. It’s honestly some of the best roleplay I’ve had in a long time. Another reason is how tightly knit, and close the community is. It’s so close together, but still willing to accept new members into the fold, like myself. What do moderators do?: A moderator’s job is to enforce the rules, and make sure that players can roleplay and play the game without hinderance. They also serve the server by answering any questions one might have. For instance, giving links to jobs that a person might be new at doing, or helping out someone who’s having technical issues. Moderator’s are the boots on the ground to deal with the server, enforcing, and by teaching. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Moderating on Aurora means helping the best server I’ve ever seen on SS-13. It means keeping the pristine condition that this server is in, by keeping away the griefers, and all other manners of people who would wish to do harm to the server. It also means being an example for everyone as a roleplayer, and a person in general. You have to set a good example for others to follow, whether that be through your own roleplay, or how you act in OOC chat. Being a moderator also means being able to answer any questions that may go through an adminhelp, or having the means to answer it in a short amount of time. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to make a difference, both on the server, and in the decisions the staff makes. I believe that I can help push the server to an even higher level. I also feel that I can keep the server secure from any bald griefer chemists that may happen to waltz through arrivals. I want to help keep this server secure, and fun for all who would take the time to play, and roleplay on it. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: Patience is one of my greatest virtues. I can sit down with someone, and talk an issue out, even if it takes hours. I don’t anger easily, and I don’t rush to judgement. I try and listen to every side of an argument before making a decision. I don't bias between players. If a friend of mine breaks a rule, He'll get the same punishment as some stranger that I've never met before. I don't deal with corrupt staff members, and I don't tolerate it in anyone, especially myself. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I brush insults off. It’s stupid to worry about dumb things like that. I’m not an angry person, I take stress in stride. The only stress I ever have trouble with is school stress, and even then, my current school work isn’t a whole lot. In the rare occasion I do get unfathomably angry, I will remove myself from the situation until such a time that I am sufficiently calmed down to resume my duties. Anything Else You Want to Add: Ever since I’ve joined Aurora, I’ve had a great time playing. From the amazing quality of RP on the server, to the hilarity of the teamspeak shenanigans. It’d be a wondrous opportunity to help keep this community at the level that I see it at. I feel as if I can add a new perspective to the Staff team, and to the server in general. If allowed, I would also enjoy contributing to the lore, as I love writing, and adding to a growing universe of custom lore. Thank you for at least considering my application.
  14. Yasuo is a shit-tier champion. Any mobile champion could easily counter Yasuo. Valkrae is my summoner, Mid, Toplane, Jungle, and AD carry are my game. Shaco best champ NA 2015.

    Glowsticks

Did I hear raves? Yeah, the flares have always looked iffy in my eyes. I can just imagine now someone trying to break into Security for all of our glowsticks.
  16. I'm neutral on this. It'd be fun as an antagonist, to start a fire, and rig all of the extinguishers with welder fluid, and watch as everyone burns themselves alive, but at the the same time, it shouldn't be available to any chucklefuck assistant who walks onto the station.

  18. Marcus doesn't actually know what he's doing half of the time in the Robotics lab. Robert believes half of the security force have a combined IQ of less than 36. Robert also has a fetish for Tajarans.
  19. +1. Kon has appeared to me as a level headed player, and general good roleplayer. Sarah Scott is a level-headed Sec. Officer, and probably one of the few I trust.
  20. BYOND Key: Valkrae Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: Can't really remember. It's been a long time. Reason of Ban: Just banned from synthetic. Reason for Appeal: I was an idiot when I decided to do that round as the maintenance drone. I completely disregarded the rules of maint. drones and did my own thing. I thought, in my head, what I was doing was okay, and well within the rules of drones. But, going back on the event, I realize how particularly dumb that event was. I stole tiny little items, ones that I thought no one would notice, and hoarded them in the holodeck. The items I would steal got bigger, and bigger, and eventually, I stole a surgical saw. I honestly meant to not steal it, but I didn't know how to drop it at the time. I honestly admit that what I did was wrong, and I'd really love to be able to play synthetics again.
  21. BYOND key:Valkrae Character names: Robert Dalton, Marcus Armstrong, Shiela Maldin How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About a month and a half. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to expand my roleplay into the management branch. I feel as if I can create good, serious RP in this area. There’s also the fact that there are never heads on when I get on, Which is usually at around 4 P.M EST. Why did you come to Aurora?: A group of friends showed it to me, and asked me if I wanted to play. Naturally, I joined along with them. What I discovered was a hub of serious, and fun roleplay. It’s a perfect balance of seriousness, while not completely bland of any entertainment. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: I have, indeed. I read it all of the time, when nothing is happening on the server. I’ve read all of the head wiki pages, multiple times. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:Roleplay is, in my eyes at least, the playing of a character in a setting. This act, along with others, creates a spontaneously evolving story that you can change. No one person is excluded from this. It brings out your own emotions as you get attached to the character, and start to flesh them out more, and more. You flesh them out until they are their own person, as detailed and as complex as you yourself are. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:The purpose of the Head of Staff, OOCly, in game is to guide players in the right direction. Whether this may be intervening directly on a course of action, or letting nature take its course, they are there to guide. They are also there as a set of ‘IC Admins’, and are basically what keeps players in line with the IC rules. Another perk, is the ability to call things like the shuttle, and an ERT(which servers to bring dead players back into the swing of things), and set the alert level. These things add to the overall Roleplay, and are needed for it to function well. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The OOC responsibilities of whitelisted players are to set an example for all other players, and newcomers. We wouldn’t want people coming in, and seeing a Head brutally murder them for no reason other than that they wanted their hat. They have to follow the rules, and generally just be a good role model for new players. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Robert Dalton Character age: 39 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Robert Alexander Dalton was born in a small, backwater, agrarian colony. He was raised on his family’s rather large farm, the farm itself spanning anywhere from 50 to 100 acres. The family had workers to help with the field, but the family still had to work as well. Robert learned the meaning of hard work, and the value of each person in a well organized system. Robert’s Dad was the first one to show Robert how to shoot a weapon. It was a simple shotgun, but Robert treated it with the respect and care that a firearm deserves. When Robert reached the age of 18, He signed up to work for NanoTrasen. They shoved him onto a ship, and told him that he was Quartermaster. He accepted this, and life went on for a few years. He decided eventually, that this wasn’t his life. He requested a job transfer, and they sent him to the Aurora. A fresh cadet. He learned a lot those few years as a cadet. When he was promoted to a full-time Officer, he made it his duty to make sure that all of his comrades were safe during their jobs. He would go out of his way to make sure that they were always accounted for, and uninjured. He’s recently been employed as a Detective, but he seeks higher employment. What do you like about this character?: I like his gruffness, and general outlook on life. He’s not swayed by any sort of idealism, or hunger for money. He’s a simple man, but that doesn’t mean he’s dumb. He’s smart in his own way, when it comes to creative ways to solve problems. The man, in his soul, has a good heart, and strives to have good intentions. Even though he isn’t the head, He tries to look out for his coworkers, and make sure they’re safe, and out of harms way. His blatant disregard for how anyone looks at his opinion is another thing I like about him. What do you dislike about this character?: Honestly? How he charges into danger haphazardly. Even though he has good intentions, It’s not really enjoyable to sit as a ghost while the round goes on. Another thing is the double edged sword to a reason above, While he isn’t swayed by any idealism, or money, His outlook is very centered, and boring. There’s no room for creativeness there. Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff? (Please note that Head characters must be over 30, unless given special clearance): Yes, I do. Why?: This character has the experience, and mindset to correctly lead a department. When there are no heads on, He goes to his lengths, mental and physical, to ensure that his department runs smoothly, and efficiently. He also attempts to protect every life under his command, and those in other departments. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Honestly? I’d give myself an 8/10, maybe an 8.5 if I push it. I’m good at sticking to characters, and keeping up with the job and making it interesting to do some of the most basic tasks. My main problem is separating certain things from OOC and IC. When it comes to knowing where antags might show up, and actually taking precautions against such an event. I’ve become better at stopping myself from doing these things, however. Extra notes: While I’ve not roleplayed on Space Station 13 for an exceedingly long amount of time, I’ve roleplayed for a good portion of my teenage/adult life. I started playing all sorts of tabletop RPG’s when I was around 12, and that led me to RPing on games like Minecraft, Starbound, and roleplaying on MMOs as well. It’s a fair bet to say that I’ve spent a good amount of time roleplaying.
  22. BYOND Key: Valkrae Total Ban Length: Three Days Banning staff member's Key: Tablespoon Reason of Ban: Helped kill an officer trying to arrest a miner. Given their notes history was given a 3-day ban.. Reason for Appeal: First off, Let me preface this by saying that I do admit to some minor infractions in the past. I admit to them, and I own up to them. Now, This doesn't mean that I agree to this particular ban. If I do remember correctly, We were stranded in the middle of space, and Nano Trasen had abandoned us. I instructed Zeal to go and get something for me. He attempted to, and came back, saying he failed. Then, a Security Guard walked in, and demanded his arrest. I obliged, but secretly planned to knock the Officer out, and take his card. We let the Guard in, and led him into another room. It was at this point, I grabbed a shovel and hit him in the head. There was a major lag spike at this time, but I didn't notice. So I kept clicking. Only when I noticed the lag spike, did I see the mass amounts of red lines of text erupt onto my chat. That, along with Zeal's attacks, sealed the man's fate. Keep in mind, that, We only wanted to knock him out. I believe that this ban is wrong because of the variables that were present. The events happening with the RP, and the lag spikes caused this turn of events to unfold. If it were not for the spikes, the man would not be dead, but would be knocked unconscious.
