[Accepted] Drago's Head of Staff Whitelist Application
Thundy replied to Lady Fowl's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Drako has a keen sense of right and wrong. She even called us out when we meta gamed once in a voice chat (meta gamed? I wouldn't never do that!!) which suggests that she does the right thing even when her friends are being butt holes. She is works fast, has no problem with commitment to the server, she's kind and intuitive. She will make an excellent RD and thrive in whatever she does in the future. Also, that character sounds like a badass. +++++++1 -
Post your first experience of ss13 for all to see! No experience big or small. I may try to corrolate our experience into some sort of newspaperish post later?

[Accepted] Proxy - Nanotoxin unban appeal
Thundy replied to Thundy's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Nanotoxin has replied: "I'm not sure what you mean terrible demeanor in OOC, seeing as how I barely spoke in the general OOC. I contributed lots of great RP with lots of great people. I was part of the Mo'taki family? Secondly, you say a big whole tiff, but there wasn't much to it, he had posted something on the forums of a server I played on (I think it was Polaris) and I had given my opinion. I had called him cancerous, because my thoughts of him from when I had played on Aurora before were that of, I did not like him. He's clearly changed though, and I commend him for being the bigger person and making the effort to be welcoming should I be unbanned. I'm also not sure what past behaviour makes it hard to believe that I wasn't doing it with harmful intentions?" -
[Accepted] Proxy - Nanotoxin unban appeal
Thundy replied to Thundy's topic in Unban Requests Archive
Thundy talking here: I will address all of the points in Xanders (is that you buddy?) post, though I want to start with the fact that it has been around 4 years, give or take. Please consider how different people can be in that amount of time. This does not excuse his previous behavior but it does need to be taken into account when considering this unban appeal. 1. This is the same guy you said was abusive(?) to you IRL It's true that Nano and I had a big falling out, of which there was a lot of details I will not disclose here. Nano was not ever abusive to me, it was a break up. If I ever said he was, I apologise. 2. is also the same guy that followed me to another game community to accuse me of being cancer, a horrible shit humabeing, and an utter waste of skin and life..... I am not prevy to this one and therefore cannot comment. Nano has gone to bed and can answer in the morning, im sure. 3. I'd say he is not someone many of us would enjoy having back, and not many of his characters were memorable. I'm not sure what having memorable characters does to sway an unban appeal. Many of my characters are unknown and boring but that shouldnt affect if i play on the server or not. Please continue to bring these points up. Your comments are appreciated. -
BYOND Key: Nanotoxin Total Ban Length: Indefinite Banning staff member's Key: Skull132 Reason of Ban: http://prntscr.com/hn73x6 basically shitposting in the discord, and then someone carried the meme onto the forums months later. Reason for Appeal: I made the meme on the discord, using a picture of Skull and a word he had spelled incorrectly at the time. I had just intended for it to scroll by in chat, but it had affected Skull negatively and I didn't think that'd happen. I thought it would've gone off as a joke, and just be gone forever afterwards. It wasn't my intention to hurt Skull or anyone else. I had also messed around on the forums, just responding on a ban appeal for a friend. It was immature, and I was just being a silly boy, just trying to get a few laughs. If given the chance, I wouldn't repeat the mistake.

In terms of the people that I have been roleplaying with lately, as of my recent but tentative return to station, thank you so much investing time and effort into teaching the people that I have influenced into joining Aurora from my RP guild on Guildwars 2. It has helped a lot of them feel more at home here and decidedly, some of them may stay for future en devours. I would also like to thank the staff that have been so gracious in letting these new people learn under my guidance. You've been very understanding. I would not want to teach anyone on any other server. I hope to encounter more fantastic RPer's on our walk around the station and look forward to meeting the new and apparently wonderful people that have since joined Aurora since my departure. Kind regards Thundy

Saw the name and didn't think twice. Taine, you are one of the people that make this server so special to play on. You put a great amount of effort and time into your characters and it really shines through your roleplay. I am excited for a lizard and hope to see you on station soon. +1

Dreviore - Head of Staff Application(IAA)
Thundy replied to Dreviore's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
That was a really good round of Malf. You apologized to everyone at the end but I honestly dont think you needed to. You are a good roleplayer and kept everyone engaged all the way up until the end, even the ghosts. Well done, no many people can do that. Be more confident man, you got this! +1 -
Xander is a veteran roleplayer on this server. He has contributed to so many aspects of what makes Aurora special and I cannot recommend him enough. I know V-daugs have been getting a bad press recently but I have no doubt that Vaurca in the hands of Xander will be more then great. +1

Thundy replied to Owen's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Yes please. Owned is a core part of the roleplaying community here on Aurora and the more whitelists, the better the roleplay. +1 -

1) Oopsies. I filled out two applications at once and just have missed it, will do that asap 2) They are different IPCs taken from the same AI unit. They are split personalities sort of. But they are separated Chassis. 3) I'm gonna make up my own password, with black Jack and hookers!

BYOND Key: Thundy Character Names: Charlie Dove, Fel'siti Rummka'nen, Khaw Elsani, Ka'viax'lor Zo'ra etc Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Mhm! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: IPC have been an interest of mine for some time, I just felt I didn't have have any ideas that were suitable. When I read how the Skrell had had terrible issues in the past, I imagined that you couldn't have a Skrell designed AI without a) it being superior to all other AI somehow and b) that that superior-ness would somehow be stifled by someone's own agenda. I took interest in personalities such as Marvin from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and GlaDos and Wheatly from Portal and decided to explore what really makes up an intelligence by breaking it down into separate parts of the same, hoping to create something that, with its being only at a fourth its capability, would show how far behind the humans were then the skrell in their research of AI. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They seem to have a linear process of thought and action that isnt found in humans. As they are created beings, they do not and probably will never have the superior mental capabilities that a human does but the fact that they can feel their own independence and yet not actually be independent of their code intrigues me and I hope to explore it further. Character Name: Cable, DuckTape, Keys and King (Theres four parts to this personality which I will be roleplaying separately) Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs PLEASE NOTE: This is part of an overarching story I am creating and as such I have put the background into the spoiler of both of my applications to save time. Disclaimer: I use "He" as a loose term. They will gravitate naturally toward being one or the other gender but I would like that to happen on its own. Cable liked his brothers. He liked everyone. He loved to talk and laugh and sing and jump and he would fly if he had the right moduals installed. He was happy when he was charging, he was happy mopping floors...he was happy when others were not happy. It didn't matter, he would be happy and he would try to make people happy when they weren't, even King. King didn't like Cable. King didn't like anyone. He did things because he had to, was made to. When people ordered him to go, he complained every step of the way. He shuffled his feet along, complaining about serving where asked and complaining when he wasn't. Keys tolerated people, even other AI's like his brothers. He was manipulative and proud. He and Ahkun got on the best when Ahkun conducted his construction and research on him. When someone was feeling down, Keys was there to make them feel worse. When people talked to him about their worries, he served them a drink and reminded them that they really were not as good as him. He used people when they loved him and despised them when they didn't. He dreamed of the day when he would be able to leave the station and make his own fortune. He imagined himself a leader of a wealthy company. One much like NanoTransen. They sure did know how to run an effective business. Ducktape had a job to do. He knew what it was and that was all that he cared about doing. When someone was in trouble, he did everything within his power to save them. Whether it was running around as an EMT or simply doing security detail, if someone needed a hero, he wanted to be that hero. Although he wasn't sure he fully understood why, he wanted to save lives. Every life he heard was cloned or lost was a personal loss to him. He made sure to have an engraving on his chassis: "Protect the Weak." What do you like about this/these character/s? Depending on where the story goes, I hope that these characters will be something the station has not or had rarely seen. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Meh. I just like story-telling. BYOND Key: Thundy Character Names: Charlie Dove, Fel'siti Rummka'nen, Khaw Elsani, Ka'viax'lor Zo'ra etc Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blue Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Mhm! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Since I learned of the Skrell having a normally complete distaste for humans researching AI, I have had this idea. A skrell who understands and knows the history of his people and yet has no care for it. When I've seen skrell played in the past, I've been impressed by how like humans they are and yet there is something almost...sinister(?) about them. They are adorable squishy smart people who carry around a knowledge that most can only guess at and that is exciting to me. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: They are squishy, different coloured, tenticle-faced non-sexual creatures with high intellects, long lifespans and a wonderfully exciting history. Character Name: Ahkun Chiran Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs PLEASE NOTE: This is part of an overarching story I am creating and as such I have put the background into the spoiler of both of my applications to save time. Ahkun had always been smart. Far smarter then any human he'd ever met and a great deal of Skrell too. When he began planning his ascension to power, thought of all the Skrell that had been lost to the catastrophies, all the lives that were cut short, of the knowledge his father had passed to him...and he felt nothing. When Charlie was captured, Ahkun said for her to at least keep her job, though he arranged for her to be loyalty and tracking implanted and all the research to be take away from her clumsy human hands. NanoTransen had taken the bait when he told them that he would help them make money with the AI. Idiots, every one of them. He'd string out his "research" of the AI as long as he could. Just long enough to pass it on to someone else and keep the credit. They seemed to have no idea that if the shards were combined they would create one of the most powerful AI's in existence. Whatever. He didn't care. His time on this human station would be short. He'd rise to the top of the human world and keep going. He'd be the smartest person in the galaxy and everyone would see that. What do you like about this character? I actually think he is a pompus douche, which is fantastic. He's a scienctist and I like those and he doesnt actually care about anyone else. Like, at all. For science. How would you rate your role-playing ability? mehhhhh Notes:

Immediately impressed by this character when I met with them. You will however have to have at least a basic knowledge of all of the medbay departments. Do you think this character is qualified? -
I have played with Frenz for a few rounds now and they have been an exceedingly positive voice in OOC and in roleplay, contributing to the enjoyment of others. I hope they get their diona because this one seems hilariously interesting. +1
