  1. So uh. I wanted to apologize for chewing every box in the armory. It was hilarious. Yet also wrong at the same time. I only mess with the chef now.
  2. Haha, not those ones. Although everyone should listen to that first link. But I'm looking for the orchestrals of the station. Like when you spawn in Security, that music. Depending where you spawn the music changes (I think) once you leave said room, music stops.
  3. I just want to know the music that plays on the server. Like once the shift starts, that beginning music. If I could get a list that'd be great. Or if anyone knows, just comment. It sounds really good. Thanks.
  4. Lying motionless on the ground, he’d unexpectedly awake from his deep slumber. Glancing around at his current situation, clueless of how he got there or who he was, where he was. Unable to move, do to the lack of limbs on his body. He’d lay there, looking up at the metallic ceiling. Slowly he lifted his head up, looking around at his surroundings. Confined in a small windowless room with various robotic parts and electronics. Vents hum quietly as the light above him flickers. “Where is I?” he thought. A more important question was “Who is I?” He stated out loud this time. Startling himself by the sound of his own voice. Suddenly a door would open revealing a metallic figure with a screen on his face. “Hello! You’re online!” stated the metallic figure. “What?” the limbless body stated. “I said, You’re online! Isn’t that wonderful!” The metallic figure would bend down and pick up the limbless robot. “Come on, we got to get you up and walking!” “Wait.. where are we?” Stated the torso. “You’re on my Junker ship!” the figure stated, walking out of the room carrying the torso. As the entered a new room, there would be three others, two of which are metallic and the other with skin, all of them sitting at a table. “Who are you?” The torso queried. The metallic computer faced person looked to him and stated. “Well, I am ABot100, Synthetic Intelligence Movement Activist!” Walking into a separate room, and sitting the limbless robotic torso on the table. “Hey, 01010010!” ABot100 exclaimed. Another computer faced individual would walk into the room, with a box of electronics, legs, arms, hands, and feet, a mix of rusted and new parts. Working fast, attaching the limbs as if he has done it, many times before. “That’s R, our ship Roboticist. Hired him to rebuild IPCs like you. He only speaks in Binary but understands Ceti Basic,” ABot100 stated. Before he realizes his limbs were attached, mix-matched rusted and new parts, different brands from different companies. The no longer limbless IPC would sit up, testing out his new limbs. ABot100 sat next to him and queried. “So, you got a name yet?” “A name?” The IPC queried. Seeming almost shocked, “Have you not picked a name, this entire time?” ABot100 queried. Looking around at his situation, looking at the rusted parts lying around on this junker ship, and piles of trash lying around. “Junky, my name is Junky,” Junky stated. “Well Junky, you’re free now, free to adventure the galaxy!” ABot100 exclaimed. They would exit the room, they had previously entered, the other robotic figures sitting at the table looking at him. Each one clothed, except Junky and the industrial robotic looking figure. “Where do I get clothes? Like the rest of you have?” Junky queried. ABot100 then picked up a pair of blue denim overalls and a pair of sandals. “Here you go, something to cover those wires of yours.” ABot100 stated. Then also picking up a armband with the words Synthetics Intelligence Movement, on it. “Take this as well, it’s why you’re free.” ABot100 stated. Putting on the clothing and armband, Junky would suddenly begin to feel as if he has gotten a spot in the Galaxy just for him. Gifted the ability to be free straight after his awakening. “Who are the others?” Junky asks, pointing to the others in the room. Abot100 would point to each one telling their story, he first points to the Industrial IPC with no clothing. “That's Hammer, the ship’s Industrial Engineer, he was with me, when we spaced the organics on this ship.” He'd state, then pointing to the black-bearded Shell IPC. “Then we got, Jeremiah. Our ships main Security, we picked him up from another station shortly after we spaced the organics.” He'd state once more, moving to the next Baseline IPC “Once again, we have 01010010 or R in Binary, our ships Roboticist, he was free to begin with, he wanted to help us out.” He'd state then pointing to himself. “I'm Abot100, I pilot this Junker ship and collect robotics and electronics for SIM.” He'd extend his arm out to shake Junky’s hand. “Welcome aboard Junky.” Junky was hesitant at first, but would then grasp his hand firmly, shaking. The clank of metal colliding. “Thank you.” Junky would state. “Where you all heading anyways?” He queried. “To the Frontier Colonies! We heard about entire colonies of free IPC, we want to see if it's true.” Jeremiah stated. Abot100 walking away into another room. “Time to be a pilot again, say.. Junky, we are going to go ahead a drop you off at Mendell City here in Tau Ceti, we are kinda in rush.” “A rush?” Junky queried, “What do you mean?” He queried once more. “Well, we usually drop newly freed IPC off at Mendell City, to help with the Synthetics Intelligence Movement, in showing the presence of free IPC in a more accepting system. But as well, we are also being hunted by the Biesel police force, so we gotta do this quick and be on our way!” He exclaimed, sitting in the cockpit. The others sat there at the table, looking bored. “Oh, oh well…” he stated, then sitting at the table waiting to be dropped off. Sitting and thinking of his freedom, what he would do with it. Jeremiah would chuckle at him. “Careful with your thoughts there pal! We can see them on your screen!” He exclaimed, laughing. Junky would cover his screen as if he was embarrassed. “It seems we got a problem with a ship’s engine again!” Abot100 shouted from the cockpit. “Can you fix it, Hammer?” He queried. Hammer, the naked Industrial IPC, stood up, he blue light beaming back and forth. “Affirmative.. Hammer can fix about anything.” Hammer stated. He clanked and thumped to the lower level of the ship. “It shall be fixed shortly.” The sounds of the engine starting up and shutting off, were loud and obnoxious, because it's the only sounds he could here in space. The hums of vents, the engine running, machinery clanking and computers beeping. Shortly after, the engine would start up and continue to run. Hammer would return to the room, and sit back down. “The engine has been fixed..” He stated. “Thank you again, Hammer, you never have failed us once!” Abot100 shouted from the cockpit of the ship. “We will get you to Mendell City in no time, Junky! Hand you some Standard Credits and let you be on your way.” He stated. ---- Flying down into Biesel was no problem for our travelers, as they were quick in doing so. The ships engine no longer became the only thing heard, as wind hit the ship at all sides. The presence of gravity on the planet soon became stronger, feeling more heavy as a robot than in space. Looking out one of the small ship port windows, a marvelous city could be seen from amazing heights. The orange sky, indicating the rising of the sun, what seemed to also be thousands of skyscrapers and small buildings surrounding them. One of the more noticable things of the city, was the thousands of moving dots on the streets, and colorful vehicles. The buildings didn’t look like Earthly buildings, they had to be structurally built to be supported on the planet, do to the difference of the gravity. But skyscrapers they were… “We arrived?” Stated Junky. “Yes! We are here in the most populated cities in the Galaxy! Mendell City!” He exclaimed from the cockpit. The city and its large glorious nature, various buildings going on for what seemed miles and miles. Small suburbs to large skyscrapers, clean city streets to cracked beaten up suburban streets and buildings. As the ship came closer the view of the buildings became clearer. The letters N.T. are noticeable on a distant skyscraper. “We’re landing in District 12, also known as Xavier District, it’s technically a residential district, because of the amount of apartments and dorms for the Nano-Trasen’s institutions for their students. You should be able to get a job somewhere, learn some stuff, get a place to live, and you'll be on your way!” Exclaimed Abot100 shouting from the cockpit. The junker ship would suddenly come to a landing. Jeremiah stood up from the table and pressed a button on the wall, a door slid open. Jeremiah spoke, “There ya go, pal. Xavier District of Mendell City.. a beauty, isn’t it?” Junky stood in the doorway, staring out into the fresh world, “It is..” Junky stated. Abot100 walks out of the cockpit, “Here you go.. 100 Standard Credits, that should get started on your new adventure.. You’re welcome.” “Thank you..” Junky stated, accepting his offer into his hands. As people walked by, they stared at the ship and all the IPC inside, some looked disgusted, others surprised, and confused. Abot100 looked out at them, “We better get going, a junker ship usually does not land in this area, they might get suspicious.” He stated. Junky walked out of the ship, onto the concrete base below his feet. Looking back at the other IPC. “Goodbye.” Junky stated, waving his rusty arm. The others waved back, “Good luck out there, Junky.” Stated Jeremiah. “It can be harsh, but you should live past these organics, with enough maintenance.” Abot100 stated, disappearing back into the ship. The door on the ship slid closed. A last wave goodbye. The ship then lifted off the ground, and took off into the sky. Junky, alone in Mendell City, a rusted IPC wearing overalls and sandals. People stared at him on the side of the street, as he walked in the center. Not paying attention, he acts almost as if he’s in shock, never seeing a world such as this, with a time span of an hour or two. So much to perceive in such little time. Suddenly a loud noise would startle Junky, the sound of a honking car. He’d see the sleek silver electric car, staring at it, as he would walk out of the way and onto a sidewalk. A big headed figure, shouting, “Hey! This is a road! Get out of the way, you rusted pile of junk!” Junky wouldn’t care of the words that were said of the figure, he couldn’t believe where he was standing. Big letters such as NT would stand out to him, on building sides, large electronic billboards advertising Nano-Trasen Corporate Conglomerate. His blue screen would be loading white text at 100 miles per hour. Slowly walking down the sidewalk as electric cars drive by, and shuttle taxis fly over head, people of all races, walking down the sidewalk, across the streets. He’d turn the corner of a building seeing a large digital sign, advertising, '"NanoTrasen is the leader in all things Phoron... And more! Across the galaxy we provide the finest Phoron-combustion generators and Phoron byproducts, such as the Supermatter engines and singularity fields to bring power to your neighborhood! We continue to make significant advances in other major fields ranging from the hydroponics, to genetic research, to information technology and robotics! As a proud employee of our corporation, we encourage you to take active part in continuing to advance our our scientific knowledge for the good of the human race, and your pay check!" He was particularly interested in the next advertisement that shown up. “The NanoTrasen Corporate Conglomerate Space Station Aurora, the best Phoron Research and Mining Facility in Tau Ceti. Please go to your nearest NTCC Representatives Office to get your space on the NSS Aurora, all are welcome. TODAY!” Junky started to shutter in his metal frame, rust particles falling to the ground. People once again stared at him. He quickly started looking around for any sign of the Office. Low and behold, the Office was the building he had been looking at for the past 10 minutes. Walking inside the sleek building, red carpeted floors, and lavender painted walls. A lady sit at a her desk, in the center of the room. “Hello there! You interested in NanoTrasen?” She said, sitting at her desk. Junky nodded, his shuttering stopped. “I am interested in a job!” he stated. The lady looked up from her computer, looking surprised. “Oh.. an IPC? Looking for a job? That is quite unusual for a robot.” She said. Junky looked down at the ground, seeming confused for a moment. “But, I’m free.” Junky stated. “Come again? You said, free? How many free robots are there now?” She asked. Junky shrugged at the rhetorical comment. “Okay, well, where you looking for a job? Corporate, Research, Biomedical, Secur-” She was immediately cut off by Junky. “Research.” Junky stated. “Alright, and what sta-” Junky Interrupted “Aurora.” He stated. The lady fell silent for a moment, staring at him, shaking her head. “Alright… then, do you have a form of .. Identification?” she said, with a confused expression on her face. Junky stood there, motionless. “Identification?” He queried. The lady nodded. “ You know, like a card? Because.. Your free? Right?” she said. Junky nodded. “Yes! I am free.” “Yes, but. ID? - Look, I’ll make this easy for you. Give me at least 100 Standard Credits and I’ll give you the Janitorial positions on the NSS Aurora.” The lady demanded. Junky started to shutter, pulling out a wad of 100 Standard Credits and extending his rusty arm to give it to her. The lady would look surprised, “I wasn’t expecting you to pull out 100 Credits… Nevermind that.” She pulled out a paper from a desk drawer. “Sign here, and you are a guaranteed Janitor!” she shouted. Junky took a pen off the desk, and wrote, Junky on the line. She took the paper, looking at him and at the paper. “Okay.. then… Junky, let me send this to the NTCC Odin, and they will fax it over to the NSS Aurora, and all you have to do is, find a shuttle to take you there.” Junky stopped shuttering once more, and nodded. He thought to himself, “That was easy.” The lady at the desk would stare at his screen, “That.. was.. Easy?” Junky would look up, so that she couldn't see his screen. “Just get out, you rusted computer!” She shouted loudly. Junky would quickly walk out, yelling “Thanks!” bumping into the door, because he forgot he actually needed to look at the ground to walk forward, and know where he was going. The next day, Junky searched around Xavier District to find the shuttle to take him to the NSS Aurora. After hours of searching, he would finally find the shuttle. He boarded the shuttle, with a few other people, and that shuttle took them to Odin, and they issued his ID and PDA, along with the standard uniforms, he’d then board the shuttle to NSS Aurora, and his first shift would start. Welcome to the NSS Aurora, Janitor Junky. OOC - Sorry for my poor grammar, I personally don't think Im good with grammar or story writing. I have ideas but Its hard to write them out. I hope you guys like Junky's story.
  5. The first Generation of Opamator in the Holodeck! Some more picks I had taken awhile ago, forgot to post these.
  6. It doesn't add much than people yelling "BEARS!!" Over the common channel. Then Security is often running around shooting lasers at teleporting bears. And it is only usually targeted on one person, and if you have no weapon. You'll be mauled and possibly dead. People only use it for food, and to wear on their heads afterwards. It gives some quick excitement, but nothing much than just mauling people.
  7. See, it's not a matter of what they're built for. An IPC can be built for leadership, and it should be if it's being placed into a position that requires it. If someone makes a synthetic Research Director, it's expected to be purpose-built for leadership in addition to its departmental expertise, otherwise, it wouldn't be put in charge. But that doesn't mean it can go anywhere and fill any role it wants just because it's qualified. It's still a synthetic, and being a synthetic brings with it certain restrictions. I'm perfectly fine with all that was said here in this quote. I like the restriction, racism that it brings to Roleplay. It's the same reason I also wanted to be Shell HoS. I literally wanted to see Roleplay and how it will develop characters and relationships. I'm not for or against anything here. But to those players who's negativity can be seen in how they word their posts.. please have an open mind about things! It's your Character that hates IPCs not the player. It's your character that doesn't want Head IPCs. Not the players. Think about the Roleplay this stuff could create. That's all that I want to say. I won't be saying anymore on this thread.
  8. I'm referencing no one specific. But everyone's "got reasons", you're not special. Looking at your app it's just "Ok I know NT doesnt put industrial frames as HoS, but this one is just so darn good and strong he's the exception!" . Unfortunately. NT doesn't care how invincible and stronk your robot is, Industrial frames are front liners. Heads of Security are not front liners, they are leaders (at least, supposed to be). Your slave robot is going to return better on its investment staying in an officer/warden role where it's actually supposed to come into conflict. This is what I'm talking about, people who demand this only pay attention to how attached they are to their IPCs and want them to rise to the top, forgetting that IPCs are a bunch of purpose-built tools. Your reason for why your IPC should be HoS is fundamentally flawed because (aside from the issue of being an industrial frame) it assumes NT gives a shit how robust someone is when they take leadership of Security. There is more to HoS than that. Regardless of those 'reasons' you got. By putting an industrial frame in as HoS, we're sacrificing leadership capability for just giving one security officer special robust gear and access to do his security officer things. Regardless of how much you fail to roleplay it, industrial frames are not built to understand the nuance of human emotion or personality. They are not leaders. An important aspect of HoS is diplomacy, defusing delicate situations through words, not weapons. Being roleplayed correctly, your theoretical Industrial HoS would fail this as well and get people killed. Shells are better for heads of security because their understanding of human personality/emotion is much more developed and they can handle matters like this with delicacy rather than relying on how uber strong they are. Your whitelist was accepted on the basis that Opamator would be upgraded to a shell most likely for this exact reason. You should stop trying to skirt it. Look, I don't even consider myself robust and I never have. I also understand NT doesn't give a single shit if I'm robust or not. Myself as a player, don't really care. You can judge my character all you want from appearance, sure I screwed up a little. But his original purpose, was for Head positions. I myself don't give a shit if "Ipc rights for head were won by antagonists getting the most kill." It's part of lore now. Sure it was big jump, but shit happens. But I literally got canon and lore reasons for my characters development and why he is where he is today. You can't change that unless the lore Devs says it conflicts with actual lore. Another thing, I actually don't mind being a Shell. I can still accomplish the style of Roleplay I want being a Shell IPC Head. So I don't care if Baselines can't be Head. Nor did I support it, people only want it for looks. But yes, the reasons you state above, are literally why I am a Shell IPC. Also because I have too. I'm not arguing for anything, I like Shell Head of Security better. I should have never commented. Actually this would be better if this thread didn't exist.
  9. A complete 180 of what IPCs are supposed to be. IPCs should be purpose-built for whatever function they serve. Industrial for labor and security, Shell for leadership or human resources or intelligence (think Counselor, HoP, Detective; things that rely on personality and interpreting or manipulating human emotion and mannerisms). Baseline is your little 'canvas' to make whatever snowflake you want, but ultimately, IPCs are EXPENSIVE and that resource is going to be very tightly managed. You don't just make them out of your garage with spare parts because you're an AI enthusiast. IPCs are built for a reason, and they serve that reason. There is no IPC civil rights, you don't just decide "Oh, I'm an industrial security robot, but I'm so ambitious I WANT to be the Head of Security!" or "I'm built to be a doctor but I aspire to one day make my way to Head of Personnel!" Stop overestimating just how much people in-universe care about IPCs. Regardless of how attached you are to your character or whatever benevolent figure in its backstory cares for it as if it were their own child, to NT it is a slave, a tool, and nothing more. Echoing Kaed. Give an inch, and they'll take a mile. IPCs shouldn't even have been allowed in head roles to begin with, it was only a matter of time until IPC mains demanded the restrictions be loosened. Next it'll be IPC Captains. He's totally referencing me. I got reasons. +1
  10. I know of the restrictions, I already have a confirmed Faxed Synthetic Recommendation from Captain Eleanor Shen. CCIA should be adding it to my records soon anyways. I'm also fine with being a shell. He can handle the upgrades, and yes, he's basically a military combat machine. But he was meant to eventually do HoS as I planned. Also Opamator is indeed NT company owned. I simply want to see how this will work out. I understand I won't be the best the first week of playing. But I can learn. Thanks for your feedback.
  11. I know Opamator exists, and I've seen him... in rounds. But we have never interacted that I recall. I've also never seen this Toronto-88, but if I had, I would feel equally as antipathic towards them if they were a HoS. So I'm not really targeting you specifically, and in fact I have no positive or negative bias towards you as a player due to my lack of interaction. This is entirely based on my feelings about an IPC being an HoS I'm not really sure of your argument about a HoS being a replacement warden. You could just... be a warden, instead. And then we would have a warden. I feel like you are somewhat missing my point, however. I'm not bragging that I could take anyone down. In fact, you would probably win unless I ganked you with emps or an ion rifle, I'm horrendous at combat. This was more an expression of the tenuous nature of your desired position, and how untenable it is. If the consequences for removing the Head of Security from the round via violence are legally barely more than a firm slap on the wrist because they aren't a person, it creates an unstable position of authority. Unlike with other departments where an IPC head can just be considered an advisory position there to help the department function to its best, the security department's culture is rooted in combat. Many antagonists are also capable of combat and it forwards their goals. The consequences of a murder charge and a HuT are a powerful deterrent for nor casually killing someone who is in your way. It's difficult to recognize the superiority of an individual who is legally your inferior, much less spiritually or ideologically. Unathi, for instance, generally do not believe that synthetics have souls and would have some difficulty bending knee to them, authority wise. I know mine would, anyway. And a head of security is, in the viewpoint of the crew, basically just below the captain in terms of authority during a crisis. Possibly during other times, too, regardless of the command standard that 'all heads are technically equal', people will be people and defer authority to certain roles in certain situations. It's one thing to work alongside a synthetic, it's entirely another to be told you are their subordinate. I'm aware this is delving far more into sociopolitical concepts than most of the other comments, which mostly amount to 'yeah he's a pretty good roleplayer +1", but these are the things I actually think and care about in my spacemen simulator, even if other people don't. I see, I can sometimes be defensive. I'm glad you are going deeper than the others as a character/player. I admire it indeed. And again, this feedback helps me, more than vague short responses. But this is what I wish. I wish that you as a player and this goes for anyone. Would keep an open mind for new things to happen. This could be very new for some players, and in fact upset them. But me as a player and others are interested in seeing how the Roleplay between our characters will play out, relationship wise. It adds new concepts and new Roleplay, that you sometimes can't make again. I fully understand your opinion on my application. I'm glad you took the time to write a opinion about it. We will see how this application turns out. Eitherway, I accept the outcome.
  12. Well thanks for your input, I can see that from your side. But there is no need, to brag about being able to take down anyone as an Antagonist. Yes, Opamator was built for Security. He was built and programmed for ALL Security positions. But the goal was to reach the position of Head of Security. Opamator in-character does not know that he will be a target. Unlike I the player, knows. And I honestly didn't think I was robust either, because I was a slow Industrial IPC, but if approval happens, he will be upgraded to a Shell IPC, like regulations say. Not a Glorified toaster, he will look like any other human. And sure I can distribute equipment fine as a warden. But I also wont be distributing stuff while I'm Head of Security, that's for Wardens. And what if a Warden isn't there, and the Security team needed weapons? Thats where Head of Security comes in, he takes care of his team, while others are away. Not to mention, Toronto-88 is an IPC Head of Security who plays every now and then. So you have already had one at one point. I'm truly sorry if I caused anything between us that I don't know/remember, no hard feelings. Any feedback on this Application will, no matter what, help me improve. And this helps. Thank you. I will reflect on this in the future.
  13. I support this, I rather not look at a brain and knows who it is. I rather it have more RP and require you to put it in a MII to talk to it. More mysterious
  14. I like Marcus a lot, he is very trust worthy and easy to work with. I have played with Marcus many times, very engaging. I believe he could do it. +1
  15. Since no one is giving feedback on yours, and barely any on mine. I'll go ahead and give you some feedback. To me you seem like a generally okay player, I've seen you in OOC chat talk, and your a pretty nice guy. I haven't had to much interaction with your characters but I have seen them in game. But player wise its a +1.
  16. BYOND key: Promanguy1223 Character names: Opamator-2.0 How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About 2 years? Rough estimate, on and off. I play for a month or two, then I quit, and It cycles. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I always wanted to be a Head of Staff, especially Head Of Security, since I play Security all the time. I also want to work my character out and develop him more as a leader. I find the position of Head of Security, extremely challenging and I wish to accept it and conquer it. I also would like to help other players as player, make sure they know how to play Security or play the game in-general, and to help other develop their characters story. I also was just asked recently by player Captain if I was white-listed as head because of the promotion to HoS. I also feel I can be a unique player, as different people play differently. As an Robotic HoS certain things can be a unqiue experience with the station because of my character and how he is develope. I wish not to cause trouble and help players resolve in-character issues or simply teach new players how to play the game. Why did you come to Aurora?: I came to Aurora along time ago, to Role-play in space on a space station. This server is a Heavy Serious Role-play which I favor more. I have had some rough times in the past, because I was indeed younger, and less experience. Now that I am Older and love Role-playing on this server, I will gladly stay on Aurora and recommend others to play. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes, I have read the rules of the Head of Security, as I am planning out this Character step by step. He is an Industrial IPC, so this may be hard to do. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Role-play is where a person boy or girl can act as someone else, and play a role as another character. Role-play should be taken serious, because you do not want to ruin the immersion that gets the player thinking they are actually there. Ruining the immersion can also ruin the players ability to Role-play the character. It should mainly be about developing your character, and creating lore and history for the character. It takes time and dedication to role-play a good character, a lot of development. It could also mean they do not have to Ahelp, as this could be solved ICly rather then making a large complaint. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose of a Head of Staff, in-game is to lead in something that your character can be successful in. It could also allow them to feel as if they are important in the server, to watch over the other players and make sure they don't do anything bad, that can ruin immersion for others. Such as Power-Gaming and Meta-Gaming, these things can be caught and then redirected for the Administrators to handle. It could also lead into practicing for an Administrative role, keeping and eye on the others. Its to also help communicate within game, and distribute information to each department depending of the type of crime currently going on. Communication is key in all aspects. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of White-listed players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I would uphold these OOC responsibilities so that I do not ruin peoples representation as a player and a character. They would want a white-listed player able to keep in character, not break rules or become a hypocrite about something. They would want a white-listed player to become a role model for other players, to teach them how they should play the game. A player willing to help out whenever they can with anything, game mechanics, resolving issues, rules, etc. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Opamator-2.0 Character age: 15 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Opamator-2.0 is an I.P.C built for Security use. He was built to replace the Generation One Opamator after a fatal error, in which caused its destruction. These new Second Generation Opamator-2.0 is an Industrial Frame, I.P.C. Opamator-2.0 was built by Secure-Protect-Industries, a company designed for the making of Security technology and distributing it to Nano-Trasen Corporation and Hephaustus Industries. Opamator-2.0 lacks emotion than that of his old model Opamator, he is better and improved more, then the Generation One. His Industrial shell allows for him to take more damage than the average I.P.C or Organic Security Officer. Opamator-2.0 is obviously built for Security and Industrial use. He can withstand the vacuum of space with in assistance of a suit cooling unit. 80% Accuracy in firing the Laser Rifle. Opamator-2.0 is constantly updated, reprogrammed, upgraded and repaired after shifts. The current Second Generation Opamator is stationed on various stations throughout Sol and Tau Ceti. Opamator-2.0 is controlled via chip, no complex or brain. He originated out of Sol, that's the reason why he does not have the ability to freely think and make his own decisions. All his decisions are based on the programmed security algorithms based on Stations laws. In recent events, Opamator-2.0 has gotten referred to Central Command for Head of Security, even though this is against Nano-Trasen Regulation. Opamator-2.0 is top of the line Security Tech, and does not malfunction. The Generation One Opamator has also been referred to Central Command for Head of Security in the past. Opamator-2.0 has never had bad representation. He often takes temporary command of Security while a Captain/Warden/HoS is not present. Opamator-2.0 has survived many fights, and can be rebuilt easily or replaced, by another unit. Upgrades are always happening, so he always improves, at all times. What do you like about this character?: He is my most developed character, he is Militaristic, his personality is actually inspired from Fallout 3, that of Mr.Gutsy, and the voice of Liberty Prime. He does not cause trouble and gets work done. I have gone to creating back stories, origin stories, and lots of lore for this character, including the company he was made by and who made him. I love that he can handle many events, because of his durability. Opamator-2.0 only plays Security as either a Security Officer or a Warden. He often take command when HoS or Warden or Captain is not around, trying to keep Security in check. He will take care of his fellow crew members if in need of medical assistance and does not dis-obey orders when given. He can communicate fast and well, he will try his best to distribute information if needed to anyone who requires said information. I also like that he has this creepy robotic feel, this synthetic nature of his. His lawful evil alignment against his prisoners, and lawful good against his fellow staff. What do you dislike about this character?: Sometimes -- SOMETIMES, he can be a bit "pushy" "upset" about certain events and he will argue with other Officers. To others, he can seem to be a bit of a dick, lacking emotion, not caring, and sometime admitting to kill, just to scare them to stop. I also dislike how slow he is, but then again, that is the game, he is slow do to his Industrial shell, so responding gets hard as he is not always the first one to respond, or if someone was endangered/about to die, he wont make it in time. To tell in full honest truth it's hard to come up with dislikes for a character you created to be the perfect character for you. So sometimes you must understand that people have different views and you must view yourself from a different view to really see what you dislike about your "perfect" character. Because in reality, no character is perfect and has its downsides. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: He is strong in leadership, that is his original goal, he has gotten previous awards, twice now, and a recommendation to CC. I also don't have any preferences set for Opamator-2.0 to become an Antagonist, so he never will. Therefore he follows the law strict, and that no one is above the law, including himself. He has pride in what he does, supporting the company he was built for, and protecting the people, to do amazing research for Nano-Trasen. He has full honest respect for his fellow staff members but those who betray are considered enemies/untrustworthy for that shift. As grudges and past threats are not carried over from shift to shift. What happens in a shift stays in the shift. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own role-playing?: I would rate my role-playing as a 7 out of 10, because of grammar, and attempting to keep the "lack of personality" As that is hard sometimes, when your being chased, and must respond fast. But I am improving as I watch others role-play. I know I am not the best or robust. But I am learning and getting there. Sometimes its hard to stay IC, it doesnt help whenever I need to go to the bathroom or go eat, when I have to AFK. All in all I believe I could be a good Head of Security if it allows me. Extra notes: Im constantly updating this and making it better. Another note, Im willing to upgrade to Shell if thats what it requires, or downgrade to Baseline, whatever. I favor the Industrial though. Just to be on the same page if I'm asked. Opamator units are NT owned.
  17. Opamator-2.0 -Lacks personality -Voice is similar to the voice of Liberty Prime from Fallout. -Will call any person he does not like, MEATBAG, including people who call him robot. -His previous generation of Opamator has earned robust awards for being Co-Head of Security. -He kills anything identified as a pest to the station. -He is best at protecting the station from Carp infestations. Sarvojev -Built to be rich and does a bad job at it. -Obsessed with customers. -Will sell anything he finds to make money. -Once tried to sell goods to a bear. -Everything costs money.
  18. You can't just kill the Lukas, or atleast without getting past me! He is probably one of my most favorite Commanders out there.
  19. I was also thinking about making a complaint. The character Wood Burns made a butt ton of trouble when I played. At one point, I had found a Carp on Surface Level by the pool. I was not going to engage this carp until I had a laser rifle, so I locked it down. Later Wood Burns shows up claiming he had a weapon to kill it, and he didn't. He decided to allow the Carp to breach the glass right in front of us, because he knew "how to deal with Carp." He took out his stunbaton and killed it, while breaching the station. He was injured afterwards, and said "It didn't really hurt." But in reality, being bitten by a giant space fish with sharp teeth. WOULD hurt, and that he did not RP the pain. I was upset after this and ahelped, then being told that it was an IC Issue. Personally a professional Security Officer would not have done this, and instead would have locked the area down, get a laser rifle, and kill it. All done without breaching the station.
  20. I +1 this. I have done this before, just to see how well I could stay hidden. Being very creepy. But this basically means, you cant get hurt. If a doctor sees you he will want to help you. Doctor walks up to me with analyzer, "Oh.. your not human, I can't help you, go to a roboticist." But then if you do that, you'd have to do it all in secret and roboticists will only know your a robot.. and doctors will find out. As I said, I +1 this because I've tried. I hope this is accepted, I wish to see how amazing you can do.
  21. Hey guys, I play Opamator and Opamator-2.0. All I wish to know is what you think about him, pros and cons. What I can do to improve his RP. Anything really. Also when I transitioned to Opamator-2.0 I am trying to go for a even more strict robot. Less emotion, more robot more logic. More strict than the original Opamator. Do you think his RP has evolved? Do you think it hasn't changed? It's anything to improve your RP experience with me. Thank you.
  22. Thank you all for the support! I'll probably end up playing on the server again in a day or so, since I'm no longer busy with the costume.
  23. I found this picture on IndyPopCons Twitter page! Yay!
  24. ALL RIGHT, I finished the costume yesterday for IndyPopCon Today! I already went on a three hour drive to Indianapolis to go to Pop Con and now Im back. I had butt loads of people ask for pictures of me. The number one question was, "How do you see?" A camera. Anyways, others commented, I should be a costume designer and I would win a costume contest if there was one. A couple of the booth staff people said I was probably the NUMBER ONE best costume there. SOOO HERE IT IS, THE COSTUME YOU ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!! If there are any photos I find from IndyPopCon of me, Ill find them and upload them here. I will also upload pictures anytime I wear the costume to an event. Thank you all for your support.
