  1. ((Get ganked by a level 100 Night Elf Feral Druid off to raid Orgrimmar.)) Knock on the door.
  2. Approaching things in an abrasive or abrupt manner makes people dig their heels in, and try and irritate you. It's just how people are. But if you are polite, and they ignore you, then it's all on them, they can't put up your conduct as a defence for their shitty behaviour. I think that's what Frances is trying to convey.
  3. Siara squinted as she walked through the gate into the lower city, keeping her eyes away from the bright sky. She is carrying a large wooden basket on her right arm. Peering through the crowds, the short woman slowly makes her way towards the market, making sure to keep to the less crowded parts of the bustling street. The day was just beginning, and it was already beginning to bake, a cloudless sky ensured that the brilliant sun beat down on the city, raising a muggy, dry heat that had Siara sweating profusely by the time she began to look at the goods on sale.
  4. Needs to be able to collapse; to fit in a pocket.
  5. Another vote is fine by me; but that is what the lore currently is. I personally wanted Hard Light.
  6. http://auroraserver.freeforums.net/thread/1326/energy-swords Energy swords are sharp, not hot. This was decided by a community vote last year.
  7. Ever seen Amy Heris as a Shaft Miner? This is the reason.
  8. Surprisingly; I'm actually on Frances' side on this one. Just because a conversation can go toxic, doesn't mean it will; this isn't the minority report, where such things can be predicted. We don't ban balds when they join because they /might/ do something. In addition, practicing ad hominem against Frances in no way helps your case, and I'm alarmed about how quickly you dropped to that level.
  9. Name: Siara Tranth Gender: Female Trait: Vampire Cattle Appearance: A thin, short woman, with a pale and drawn complexion. Standing at about 5'2", her hair is a dirty blond; made darker by the heavy layers of grease and filth that have built up. Her pale complexion is extenuated by thin, worn clothes, and a hunched demeanor. She looks to have seen little of the light of day, though she could only be in her early twenties, given the lack of lines on her face. ((Always better to NOT have the vamps gunning for you from the start."
  10. ^ ... ... ... Was that Ahelped?
  11. Against Tau, take the Decurion, at least 10 flayed ones for backboard defence, Destroyer Cult, Annihilation Nexus. Their fire warriors don't stand up to a warrior assault, given your insane toughness; the bikers with shield vanes can pop their tanks. The flayed ones deal with any deepstrikers that get too close, given that they easily nom terminators now. The Cult is just a general fuck you; it screws with everything, and it can carry so many heavy cannons. The Annihilation Nexus clears their troops, as their rail tanks won't be around long with bikers and destroyers floating about.
  12. I live in the UK, I really don't want a First Past the Post system here as well.
  13. Why have two bolters when you can have one guass cannon? Makes marines into mist.
  14. Which models?
  15. Yay... won't start up anymore.
  16. Syringe in a syringe gun would deliver 15
  17. Earth, done by Rusty; Biesel and Akhet done by me. But that's all we have, unfortunately.
  18. Not yet. The accountability things have been a part of the DO procedure since they started, and I have never seen them used.
  19. It's a new enemy in World of Warcraft, added in the most recent expansion, called the Botani, who control a good section of a planet, and attack animals and people to turn their bodies into mulch, sending raiding parties to different continents to seize captives to feed their trees.
  20. DOs have a tonne of mechanical things that mean they are moderated, their recorders can be accessed by any other DO or admin, at any time, even in different rounds; they generally have an admin escort in the interview itself too.
  21. If it's maps, we have three.
  22. Is this guy the inspiration? I mean, they kill people and use their bodies as mulch for the new generation, some of them are truly massive, and they really like living in big trees.
  23. This is... Interesting. The main reason DOs have to do interviews, however, is for accountability; our recorders save directly into the server; can be retrieved at any time, and so on. It'd be remarkably easy for someone using a normal one to edit the logs. Observation could be useful; if the IAA could be trusted OOCly not to lie; to cause more issues for a disliked character. The DOs were set up with the intention that their every interaction and action was tracked and recorded; to ensure that afyer an investigation; a player can't try and poke holes in a legitimate case to get a character off; and to make sure that every investigation is completed properly. Thosr regulations are what make DOs so slow. We can't do anything on Nuke, Revs, Mutiny; we can't interview antags or when antags are reasonably active. The interviews can take an hour or more of on-station time; during which, any number of factors could interrupt the interview, or cause the DOs to have to flee to Odin. Every person related to a case needs to be interviewed, regardless of timezone related to the DO. These are what need sorting; if you want the DO corps to work better; which I am in the process of doing, and I would appreciate any assistance; and for IAAs not to add more and more people to be interviewed for now.
  24. And laaaaaaaaaaaag.
  25. "Thisss drink sssmellsss of chloral hydrate." *Thud*
