  1. Would you be able to run a local game for yourself and tweak some numbers to find the best colour for you? If so the branch you should use is here you can adjust the values in 'client_color = list(0, 0.3, 0, 0, 0.3, 0, 0, 0.3, 0)' to fit your needs, and let me know which work best. This is a color transformation matrix which you can read about here. (Except it is only 3x3 because we only want to change the colors not the alpha)
  2. It's been suggested on the staff discord that I just make this a choice like 'color tint' next to the other vision disabilities like color blindness. This would have the advantage of preventing someone taking your glasses from you. So... imma PR that shortly.
  3. Gotta make an application thread and give them info like your ckey and whatever. There is a template. You can link this thread there though.
  4. It was for more than just engineering and maint, check the PR.
  5. @EstoytruchaHere is a branch that adds some low-power meson goggles that will function as shown in the video above. You may want a custom icon or something -- if so get that and I can help you add it, and you'll have to go through the custom item application process. I tried to make it remove partially covering shadows, but this is difficult to do for just one player at once. If this doesn't work well enough for you as written I will try and think of alternatives. If you think the tint would work better as a different colour (brighter green or something?) that is easily done so just say so.
  6. We could potentially do some shadow removal. But that's more of a question for maintainers / custom item approvers as to what they'd be happy with you having as a custom item. If they're happy then I'm willing to code & tweak those custom glasses for you. So see if you can get in touch with them and let me know.
  7. Check this out for me in fullscreen please. Does the meson tint alone help as you expected, especially in low-light areas? EDIT - Looks like there's another visual effect added on that I'll need to figure out, it's a BYOND Internal thing I think.. so not something I can just grab easily. Not obvious to me right now. Will work on it.
  8. Yup. Checking that out as we type.
  9. I think so. I'll have a tinker with things and see if I can come up with a solution. Thanks.
  10. Antagonists can still acquire mesons from their uplinks, the issues the removal PR wanted to address are more to do with people using them as non-antagonists or using them against antagonists.
  11. I'll have a think about solutions. I've read through the link you provided, can you help me be clear on exactly why mesons helped you? - Is it mainly the screen brightening effect? Why is the meson vision effect preferable versus changing monitor brightness or similar?
  12. 1. They've been renamed to 'Disruptors', so maybe that fixes that for you. 2. Lasers were recently nerfed to not harm internal organs, and of course the damage level of a shot can be easily changed. Is this what you mean by "weaker"?
  13. This is unrelated to my PR , but I'll look at fixing that sometime soon. I've implemented a change to the Face Direction verb, so clicking will allow you to change your direction while Face Direction mode is on -- Moving with movement keys will work the same as it currently does.
  14. BYOND Key: mikomyazaki2 Game ID: b8L-bIFU Player Byond Key/Character name: Unknown / Jose Dean (Station Engineer) Staff involved: Well there's me, but other than that none. Reason for complaint: Jose Dean, as a non-antagonist, took it upon themselves to break into the Captain's Office and take the Spare ID when an antagonist revealed themselves. Saying the following over comms: [Common] Jose Dean says, "Doctor Sun, I am getting the captain's spare to pay for the ransom." [Common] Song Sun says, "You will be doing no such thing." ... unrelated chat ... [Common] Jose Dean says, "I wasn't asking." Song Sun was the CMO and highest ranked crew member, they did it anyway and were later only fined for this. I believe this breaks the Keep your character's goals in mind rule, as an Engineer should only be breaking into the Captain's Office under explicit orders from Command and/or Security. The location of the spare ID is not their concern. Also ignoring direct orders from command during a crisis is very un-good. One of the security personnel took the spare ID off him when he exited the command area. So I cannot prove what he wanted to do with the spare ID, he said he wanted to give it away to the antagonist as ransom for the Assistant that got taken hostage... which is a weird ransom payment that the antagonist did not ask for. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? No, assumed they were an antagonist wanting to take it for themselves. Did not know they were not until end of round. Approximate Date/Time: Approx. 1 PM GMT 22nd August
  15. Post explaining why fixing this with a PR is stupid and/or impossible
  16. Sorted. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/9720
  17. So my Baystation12 Antag Diaries turned out to be popular - Wanting to recount some of my best antagonist rounds and give people an idea of what is possible as a HRP antagonist, beyond the usual bombs and shootouts with security. I'll keep this thread updated with accounts of rounds that were well received by other players, and enjoyable for me! ------- Traitor Atmospherics Technician Playing Melody Loop, my extremely lazy Atmos Tech. Got traitor'd with about 50 minutes to go in the round, and not much of an idea of what I wanted to do! Aaaaa! There are already some other violent traitors doing things on the station, so I decided that my ambition would be Secure paid leave for the Engineering department and see what else could be done after that. I did the bare minimum to have my face seen around Engineering, then headed off to the construction level to stash my gear and swap it out for chameleon gear - Disguising myself as a NT Corporate Liason. Annoyingly, on Aurora, the voice changer isn't itself a chameleon item. So I had to get creative and forge a fax from NT explaining that their CL suffered an injury enroute to Aurora and was rendered mute, but due to their contract they could not be fired and had to work the shift. I gave this to the HoS who was the highest ranking character at the time. Next, I broke into the CLs office (no access you see) and managed to get my face seen at my desk doing my CL thing. A couple of people had questions for me, but I managed to get them to go away wordlessly, with emotes and paper messages - Guess who forgot to give their character Sign Language? Now for the ambition - I wrote another fax from NT, saying that there was a big legal case at the moment about an overworked Engineer -- And to be safe the CE & Engineers were to have the rest of the shift as paid leave. Upon delivering this to the CE, the department was delighted and the CE went to the pool. Naturally the station started getting upset that the Engineers weren't doing their jobs, especially the Quatermaster who wanted phoron for a bounty - But no one would give it to him. So, I got the most ridiculous outfit with my chameleon gear I could and returned to being my engineer. And stood infront of Supply heckling the QM about our paid leave. The QM made the bar refuse to serve me, and I was about to find a way around that... when the server died. Successful and fun round anyway, and the QMs player found it funny afterwards! I think it went very well for such a short amount of time as a traitor in that round.
Had an excellent time playing one of the actors (mercenary) told to enter the station and act as a distraction from the main event. 10/10 would terrorize people, stuff them in lockers and lie my way into free medical care again.
  18. Thanks, I'll check that out.
  19. Yeah, I'll make that a priority! Thanks.
  20. I'll see if I can make better hotkeys by default ?
  21. Maybe it's fine for a viscerator swarm to be scary to fight alone?
  22. I think I will do this and test it out -- Keep the player's last-seen while you cannot see them, maybe make it fade over like 10 seconds (or something).
  23. Have you tried using the Face Direction verb or hotkeys to make your character look behind you, while you run?
  24. Mmm, this is probably sensible? I'll think about the best way to do it.
