  1. Don't flame, make things personal (subjective interpretations are a-okay), or make yourself look like an idiot by having a passive aggressive fit or I'll have the thread locked, thanks. Anyways, since I saw someone post, in the staff forums, a statement about the community of the server, it went something like this. I'm not asking about why you guys make complaints, because I already know. You believe your gaming experience has been ruined to the point that OOC mitigation is required. But, in my own opinion, I don't see any game-breaking statistics in a single one of the complaints we have up, but they were obviously somewhat traumatic experiences for you guys because you thought you could not deal with it on your own and admin intervention was required. I don't know if this thread will solve anything, but let's look over something. I see two different types of complaints currently: those for IC behavior and those for OOC behavior. OOC behavior I can understand, but I have no idea why people would complain about a petty IC occurrence. So I want to ask: what about dying/getting killed without RP pisses you off? Not just to the complaint owners right now, but to everyone who really gets their gears grinder when they see that stuff. What about death makes you so uptight and vindictive? ;(

  4. I've annoyed my own ass of trying to word this to not be offensive, so please forgive me if I seem frustrated. Better than me accidentally dissing every gay person ever. If I can tell right off the bat that your character is homosexual, then I do not like your character. I've had pleasant experiences with people who I befriend, and act completely normal, before telling my character at some point that they're homosexual, and I've got no prejudice against them in those situations. Power to them! But when I'm walking down the halls and BOOM, /THERE IS A HOMO (Usually lesbian)/ right in front of me, I want to vomit. If you're letting people know initially that you're a raging homo, then you're advertising it. Spin it any way you want, but the fact is that you've designed a character so that your sexual habits and preferences are the first identifiable thing about them, and that is sickening to me. Sexuality should be used as a fraction of the foundation (backstory, nationality, family, political views, sexual preferences, religious beliefs, etc) you use to build your character's development and behavior, not the embodiment of it. I've sometimes seen characters where the ONLY identifiable things about them are sexual in nature, and every aspect of the character is directly made up what is subjectively considered attractive to people (ie boob size [or even descriptions of how you can SEE their tits] in flavour texts, shy/timid nature for ugu~ girls, sassy/bold nature for tsundere girls). What I'm trying to say, is, if we have a prejudiced system where we complain about 'homos', it's not our fault. The creators of these characters have intentionally chosen them to be sexual, and we have the right to oppose sexuality being forced onto us. We have never said that we were against homosexuals purely because of homosexuals being homosexual. Us puritans hate homosexuals not because of the homo part, but because of the sexual aggressiveness itself that is prevalent in these 'Suicidal Space Lesbians' that discomforts us to no end.

  16. Context sums is up pretty accurately. Except for the part where we say we aren't a competitive server. That'd be false advertising, whoever stated that. We /NEED/ something shocking, because we're way too competitive. Something that makes us forget about anything but the will to survive on our own. There's something I've rarely felt on Aurora that was always, ALWAYS on my mind on Archangel. It was fear. Behind every door could be a genestealer that could hit a single binded key and I'm knocked out for thirty seconds from three tiles away, or a Khorne Bezerker with a one-hit-kill chainaxe and a bolter that kills in two shots, where my puny lasgun doesn't even dent their armor. We need that kind of feeling in our events. Something that has a healthbar so that it's realistic, physical and much more engaging, unlike Narsie, but with such powerful abilities that any attempts to bring down that healthbar are considered fruitless.

  18. Sorry for not clarifying; I mean, I was talked to directly by a moderator in deadchat that it was okay. And, Garn, imagine if you went to work (or if you don't have a job, imagine if you were still 15 or so and were headed to school), and there's a guy in the security office of the workplace drawing on the walls in blood. You have access to a handgun in your desk, and you start to see fucking things flying through the air, people walking around to this guy with glowing eyes, and the guy is still just drawing in blood all over the place. You're telling me you're not gonna' load that .45 up and prepare to defend yourself? Especially when all your coworkers lunge on you and tie you to a chair in the kitchen freezer where you can hear them outside talking about turning the office into a warzone? If you /really, really/ wouldn't have, that's still okay, because I still know I would, I know Blizzard would and did, and many others would too. This guy acted realistically, and he killed this man realistically, too. He wasn't even a shitter about it, as far as I can tell. It just seems like someone was mad that they got taken out of the round. Everyone knows you don't fucking take mercy on anyone who has access to a gun; they will stab you in the back the second their arms are free.
