Is there anyway you could file complaints about these players (most specifically the one that tried to fight a nuke op)? This is terrible RP and the players themselves need taken care of in some capacity. It's more or so considered an 'IC issue' when it comes to a scientist carrying around a fucking armory in their backpack.

This is a research station after all, and if RnD could pump out silly shit like modifications for protopistols, They can certainly be able to research some sort of exo-suit gun mod consisting of a trigger mechanism, proper handling for the wielder and other things (Each being its own research item) Drawbacks I could see would be turning the firearm in question to a one-time use item, The user won't be able to recharge that hand held marauder laser canon or reload the scattershot, due to it being completely fucked inner working wise, and heavy cooling needs that would slow down the fire rate to a crawl. So one can't simply pick up a scattershot and type say "Die catbeastssss" before ramboing everything in sight.

Since unathi are basically a step up amongst other races on the station, strength wise (Or better yet they're just more easy to get RIPPPPPPPED) I would think of them to have the muscular strength to handle/carry around exosuit weaponry, Such as the RIPLEY drill or clamp, the durand and other combat exosuits weaponry such as the big taser, spreader gun and grenade launcher, etc etc and use them at a more slow pace. This of course would come with downfalls. Bad for the knees, Walking around with such heavy gear causes minor brute damage on their legs every few ticks, after reaching a point, causing them to collapse in pain. Slow as a diona, I mean VERY SLOW. Requires both hands to wield/fire it, even then the pace of firing said weapon would be slow.

It's difficult to understand what you're saying here, but it sounds like you're describing exactly what I'm against: stealing equipment from other parts of the station and making unnecessarily large piles of weapons. Basically that Half of the time I see an un-needed second armory in science, all in the name of muh research

General McSecurityofficer says, "H-hey science? Mind explaining why we arrested a scientist trying to break into our arrival checkpoint and make off with the charger, and WHY he had a backpack full of protopistols? What the hell are you guys doing in there?" General RnDscienceLady says, "FUCK OFF NT ALLOWS US TO DO WHATEVER THE FUCK WE WANT IN HERE, FUCK OFF BEFORE WE REPORT YOU TO NT AND GET YOU FIRED" she says as there's twenty laser canons sitting on a desk, all in the name of science Better yet, Science just starts fighting with lawgivers and military style shit the minute security does a smart and saves then wipes RnD

Or better yet, downing a few shots of whiskey and biting down on something. -
A pretty interesting change to skrell, Aslong as they warble, I can't complain. Though a 5'1 fuckboy skrell trying to pick a fight with a 7'0 unathi will end bad in a rather funny way

Well, I'm honestly unable to sprite due to work I say we just lazy up and leave it like that? or ask a spriter if they're down for work? I'm just fine with leaving it all ugly.

The real question of the thread

heavy rp amiright Don't the crime if you can't handle the time I mean pulling a stealth revolver and blamming someones head, leading security on a man-hunt or being an overall threat to the station would probably get you thrown into the slammer under intense watch Letting someone go on a community service thing un-supervised usually leads to them escaping/having the chance to fuck off Then you have the pain staking time for security to go, ask the HoP (If there ever is one) or whatever command staff is available to make a community service level ID for said criminal. By that time they're sentence is usually up.

I might consider changing a few things, like removing head of personal access to unlocking them. My main purpose is to have loyalty implanted individuals be the ones to consider unlocking that gygax/durand/Lawgiver/ lockbox, since it's pretty high clearance shit, Even if the research director is around, if they're down to get implanted, go for it. Having a HoS/Captain discuss to one another that opening up the lockbox packing a dangerous weapon for a possible security threat is probably not a good idea.

This past month has been security being scrutinized/mocked/threatened with job bans/head of staff whitelists being pulled. Though there is a bigger threat now haunting the station, Science militia, You ever raise an eyebrow when you notice almost every sciencetist and their metabuddy running around with a protopistol in their backpack the minute an antag is confirmed or there is a suspected security threat onboard the station? You ever notice how easy it is to break into RnD, go onto the console and print up a lawbreaker due to a single scientist knowing the metasheet to getting all 10 levels then fucking off after saying their job is done? Now that can be fixed with a simple 'PUT ALL WEAPONs AND WEAPON VARIETIES IN A LOCKBOX THAT ONLY A HEAD OF STAFF LEVEL ID SUCH AS HEAD OF SECURITY/HEAD OF PERSONAL/CAPTAIN CAN OPEN' along with paperwork being needed to be stamped by said head of staff. I mean, I'm pretty sure the head of staff would like to know if McBluehaired scientist lady wants to max weapon research and needs to print out a stun revolver, The head of security or other heads would have to scan their ID across it. In the long run, it prevents RnD players from handing out advanced energy guns to their metabuddies and IC friends due to 'I wanted to feel protected because security is bad' etc etc excuses, and forcing RnD to have its research wiped by the AI due to it being a pain in the ass than actually helpful when they rush weapon research. Of course it can be emagged still, but the fact science can easily go militia and claiming it to be an IC issue due to security being bad is getting silly.

When it comes to the sprite itself, That'll be uh, well better. As for the roleplay, sure can. Though I will admit a part of me did want to rework it text/description wise to make it armored for HoS duty, but eeh, Last thread involving something like that was a cluster fuck.

What would you do if you woke up as your aurora character?
Filthyfrankster replied to NoahGoldFox's topic in General
If i woke up as a fucking failed 7'10 scalie lizard character who looks like something someone drew up in a scalie thread. Well Suicide is always painless. -
It distinguishes Zubari as someone who takes pride in his appearance (He's a bit bent on one-upping people when it comes to style.) , and a unathi that has assimilated into human society enough to adopt their fashion

Helps deal with the superiority that detectives think they have over CSI "I get the gun, the knowledge of a security officer, AND GET ARMED WITH WEAPONS DURING RED. So give me the kit you fucking gymza" So yes
-
How about taking a sock and putting a lets say.. Bar of soap Turning it into a makeshift blackjack club
-
I could see this working in the long run, Just like if their detective pulls out their revolver, fires off a few rounds doing god knows what, Like at some medical doctor who wouldn't comply, everyone would probably question why he discharged live rounds and why he's asking for extra ammo from an autolathe.

I see this all the time with research directors and new RnD folk. Almost every RD: "You're telling me you don't know how to make protopistols and borderline traitor weapons within five minutes? ITS SO EASY ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS USE A TOOLBOX, BREAK INTO THE TELECOM, GET THIS THIS THIS. You need to get good and get out of my face, I'm going to go be a pain in the ass for security and give every scientist a protopistol on code green for self defense :^) " "You're fired." Eventually the RD just barges in and does everything themselves and firing the new guy in the mean time. Then requesting security come and detain the now fired personal. That or some fucking lab assistance gets everything to 10 That or a CMO who bitches/threatens to fire the chemist for not making the god drug within 3 minutes of the shift starting

Sorry about the late wait on the answer for your question! First day on the job. There's currently a few famous weapon manufactures. Low-point and Xi-Quan are both human own and operated You have low-point firearms tec, Which manufactures a majority of ballistic weaponry and basic self defense tools that civilians, businesses, police forces and general companies who want cheap protection for their assets or for even basic military use. The CEO of low-point believes in in the good ol' fashion ('mericun') rights of each honest citizen being armed for self defense purposes at cheap (But shite quality) prices , so thus they develop and sell items like the the shotguns you see security officers using on the station for different situations and even the tasers at wonderfully low prices for the cheap but somewhat reliable tools. Majority of ballistic weaponry, tasers, stun batons and pepperspray from their factory or more smaller sister developers. The main factory itself is stationed at Mars It's favored among most civilians but I wouldn't suggest taking their goods if you're going to defend a research station in the middle of un-conquered space. though a rebellion or third world planet with some war to do would be all up and at ems for some cheap guns. Bullets are cheap. Though most military and companies who REALLY want to be packing heat for very expensive assets would go with laser/energy based technology. Since they have the energy and charging stations available to 'reload' said weaponry, which most civilians and small businesses don't have. (Trust me, it takes a whole lot of power to charge that laser rifle.) That is when Xi-Quan Solutions comes in with the most advanced and deadly needs when it comes to weaponry. They create and sell weaponry like the laser rifles and carbines that seem to be more intimidating than ballistics, If it shoots lasers, it's probably manufactured by them to make things you don't like dead. They also develop most protection, like the ablative vest, bulletproof vest, riot armor, standard security vest. Fun fact, it was the skrell who developed the LWAP and partnered the idea up with Xi-Quan to mass-produce it. As for the federation of warble (Skrell), both of these are skrell owned (Expected.) Worsholing, a renown energy weapon research company Guntev, a pharmaceutical company that handles and deals biological weapons. The skrell are VEEERY into this brand. Goes to show the skrell pack a punch behind their threats. You also have the most... Shady arms and gear dealer, Like the makers of the CR-20 that you see those friendly red hardsuited nuclear op strangers pack when they come to the station to sell you cookies and a nuke in exchange for that nuke disk. Along with the syndicate revolver, syndicate crossbow, energy shield, pretty much anything. They don't abide by the general rules when it comes to manufacturing weaponry, hence why a syndicate revolver will blow a limb CLEAN STRAIGHT OFF. For specific xeno races.. Unathi weapons are all over the fucking place. Some unathi use longbows that, due to their size and strength of more modern synthetic fibers, can be large enough and drawn with enough force to pierce like, tank armour. But those are rare it's mostly ballistics with a focus on armour piercing for the thick plates. Lots of energy glaives, swords, shields, for melee. War hammers are very popular, and the spear is the 'mascot' weapon for the Hegemony, but they're adopting more modern weapons now. Tajara.. Don't even get me started, though same as unathi when it comes to DIY weaponry and cheap ballistics.
