If tajara players can force themselves to make an application for a catbeast in the first place, then they have no need to be afuraid. It shouldn't be a hassle for them and is most likely pawssible for them to make anofur application to place the feline in command, Save they have the tailent for the job in the furst place. It's not a purroblem, people. Just another another stop in the yellow brick of a heavy RP community.

Majority of security rarely wears a helmet on code green. The armor vest itself found in security officer/detective/CSI lockers is a mere stab vest, durable and lightweight enough to stop some random twat from stabbing them with a knife, offering protection to their squishy organs. What's wrong with an officer having the right to feel secure? And do keep in mind that this is STILL considered a stab vest, so unless you're one for self antagging security, A weapon a much higher threat (E-sword, Traitor revolver, Nuke ops weaponry, Laser weaponry) will go through it easily. Now if they were running amok on code green wearing a bulletproof vest/Riot gear/Alb armor, sure. That's a concern worthy situation.

BYOND Key: Filthyfrankster Character name: Zubari Akenzua Item name: Fancy jacket Why is your character carrying said item to work? It's a comfortable piece of clothing that he takes pride in. It's one of the few examples of high-class unathi attire. The jacket itself isn't just a fashion statement; it's able to keep him warm in the environment of the Aurora or human worlds which have always seemed a bit too cold for him. Item function(s): Basically aesthetic, being able to go into the exosuit slot as a regular jacket item. (Provides no protection due to balance issues, even if it does look armored.) Item description: A well tailored unathi styled jacket, fitted for one too. Item appearance: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tsrdpglac4s4ov5/fancy%20jacket.dmi?dl=0 The idea and basic spriting of it so far, if a spriter wants to take a crack at it to make it more security oriented (Blue/etc) or general additions/editing, be my guest. Additional comments: Coding isn't quite my forte, Though I'll scrounge up something awful if needed.

BYOND key: Filthyfrankster Character names: Zubari Akenzua How long have you been playing on Aurora?: 2-3 months. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to experience the stress and role of being a leader for a department, no matter what actual department it is. Being in command over others and dealing with them coming up to you for questions and support and handling taboo situations and other strange occurrences you would expect on SS13. Why did you come to Aurora?: I needed to migrate from my past servers and was recommended Aurora by a fellow unathi player who then got me to write up a character app. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yep. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplaying is simply placing yourself in the shoes of someone that you aren't in the real world. Personality difference, world change, gender, race and all the other goods, avoiding to simply self insert yourself. You can see how things are from a different point of view almost of a character that is not you. Even managing to affect your attitude with feelings from said roleplay environment. You ARE a different person, and you will have fun playing that 7'0 unathi in a 2d spaceman game. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: One purpose of the head of staff is bringing leadership to different departments onboard the station, adding in some spice when it comes to dealing with situations regarding the command staff and their assigned department that they were trained and took up the job to handle. Be it a research director observing in case of any foul play among the lot and signing paperwork for his/her workers, or a captain making sure corporate regulations and the main goals of their job are held up. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Head of staff players are the non-deviant and serious and professional characters you will meet and roleplay with. You are to set an example for other players that the server is a high-roleplay environment, and that screwing off will land you in hot water. To uphold them, it would be best to avoid committing crime, maintain the sanity of your department and show other players the fun of their job, and that seeing a head of personal running off gunning people down would yield to the same, or even more punishment if anyone else did the same. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Zubari Akenzua Character age: 38 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Simply stated from his biography on his alien application, Zubari is hatchling to a rather abundant family in Teht. He had a bit of a different perspective of the way of life the unathi there were brought up with. The old fashion pride and honor gig and willing to shed blood to preserve it. He was seeking a way out from that, along with dealing with the aggressive brothers of his. They predicted how their lives were going to go, hunting, fighting, preserving the way of life. Upon encountering his first group of human traders who came to Teht every so often to trade supplies and weaponry, even managing to get a few trinkets and currency. He had a small taste of how the easy life was. Managing to learn how to play simply card games as a teenager, a skill he had good use for in the future. Few years later, obtaining fine clothing and enough credits, His plan was coming together to finally leave this planet after hearing about the constructed shuttle port and issues involving his family and brothers, Taking up the nearest transportation across the sea to Skalamar, buying his way onto the nearest shuttle leaving Moghes and to Mars, falling to the possible lies of wealth and opportunity to live a damn good life. Which some spoke of to be a lie, and others the truth. He didn't pay one mind to it all. Developing a friendship with his first employer on the long shuttle ride and scoring his first job on the human eccentric planet. Getting into the security job field after being inspired from his first job working as a bouncer in an gentlemen club, working as a nightguard to a shipping and trading guard for Gilthari exports. More than happily giving into the lifestyle most humans presented, be it hobbies, the stress of work, gambling, partying it was 1999, discovering relationships, getting himself tattooed some years in. Leaving the life that was on Moghes behinds so many years ago. After years of work, landing himself a job after properly earning an education onboard the NSS Aurora from contacts and friends. What do you like about this character?: Zubari is what you would call an assimilated unathi. Learning that the way of life that almost all of his species on Moghes seemed to follow and die for was a tad uncivilized and excellent way to end up in an early grave, wanting a new way of life, he looked to that of what some kind human traders seemed to follow. Obtaining wealth, Attempting to keep themselves cool during stressful situations and being one damn good smooth criminal. He wanted to reach into a life just like that. One biography later, He thrown away all of his honor and snobby pride that the other males he encountered during his young life on Moghes had embedded in their mind. Getting himself a job on Olympia, his own apartment, working with humans and learning the ways of the trade, which involved communicating to bring a situation towards his way for the betterment and bargaining. Being completely astonished with the life most humans in the heavily populated city of Mars had. He wanted in on this glory. What do you dislike about this character?: He relies on others, being the security officers to handle with the dirty work and preserve the law while he handles the paperwork and dealing with any head of staff or concerned/angry crew that bring up their complaints as his cerberii do their jobs. Wanting to live the life of a desk jockey and paperslinger. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Most of my experiences playing as an interim head of security or a senior security officer from time to time, Figuring out Zubari's budding opportunity as an official head of security with the right training and schooling. Excellent leadership material if given the proper tools and ranking. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'm confident in my abilities when it comes to writing and roleplaying, though like anyone else, We're human, we make mistakes. Which is what I do from time to time. Hopefully being accepted into the head of staff role will assist in improving it. But for now, a 7/10. Extra notes: None really.

I showed up a bit later in the round after you two were captured, but I find the reaction from security and the cyborg seemed pretty resonable. I was alerted that armed intruders blew up the AI core and caused a huge ruckus, and two of their compadres who were posing as traders got captured. No messages from Odin or even you two were mentioned about traders until you two were actually IN the station, and let me tell you something. The Gorlex marauder hardsuits (Da nuke ops ones) are some high-tech shit, military grade. Not something you see an every day space trader fellow decking, same with their bodyguard packing an SMG the same time someone thought asploding the core was a good idea. Security was on-guard and they had no choice but to investigate/detain the two un-invited guest who which one was packing serious heat while the both of you were dressed of space commandos. ID gig: Anyone could be wearing one, hell. It's not that hard to get one and simply modify it. Even the Vox are given one if I remember correctly and all they do is fuck around with it and make it legitimate as a sack of shit. It's normal for security to be onguard when suddenly two random dudes appear in their station, one is packing heat and again, both are wearing military grade hardsuits that out-tech even security hardsuits. No announcement prior from any source was said that two friendly trader fellows were gonna show up to do some good ol' fashion trading.. If your two comrades didn't decide to bomb the AI core, it would of went differently I hope. The brig time isn't bad, You two were suspected terrorists due to the exploding of the AI core and two other folks were spotted wearing hardsuits like yours, pin them together. Then they found the swag that you were carrying, bombs, guns and other goodies? Yeah. Pretty dangerous for a trader to be packing. Security didn't shove you in solitary, straight jacketed, blind folded and muzzled, That would of just been plain overkill. They threw you in a large brig area while they attempted to deal the two who decided running off and blowing and stealing the AI was a jolly good prank. I'm not clear about the whole cyborgs yelling at you while in processing/interrogation, I'll let someone else speak about that. Such is life with nuke ops, it's a hassle for both sides. Especially if operatives have different plans

OneWingedMajora's Unathi Whitelist App
Filthyfrankster replied to Majora's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
If you're willing to handle the mistresses Attimus encountered with, the IC drama/(Possible OOC drama due to the community being iffy), Doubts from co-workers and a few people cringing at the reality of the sexism. (Which I say adds to little spice.) If you can prove that the Vin'drahl clan name isn't mainly edgesecurity, carries a bad reputation so far of trashing their superiors (Which if I can remember correctly, if not very.. Honorable.) and restore the name to proper honor. be it so. People might be holding Sia to a more harsher and higher expectation. With whispers of her simply being 'Attimus bitch' You have my support then. -

I wasn't saying to cancel your damn application, the playerbase doesn't really have a call on deciding an application's fate. Chances are you'll be accepted and prove the people that doubted you wrong. Keep the application up, -
OneWingedMajora's Unathi Whitelist App

I don't really have any issues with Sia or Majora, but from a few perspectives, I thought I might speak my mind before giving/withholding my endoresment. Having another unathi on board is always good, but time to take something from a more ingame/IC perspective. Due to not having any memorable experiences or rarely seeing Sia out of her comfort zone (Which was Attimus/AVS) during times on unbound travels. Attimus has been recently giving the Vin'drahl clan name a /really/ bad rep, after an incident involving a captain, drama involving a warden that he had a relationship with.. While married with Sia? Leading to your average bullshit drama fest as you expect with any relationship in this damn game. He's been barred from security officer for his acts during security shifts, Disrespecting command staff (Which is a big no no, I take it) and usually finding himself demoted and incident reports placed against him, yelled at by duty officers. I think hiring another Vin'drahl, Especially immediate family (For example: Wife) is something Nanotrasen would not exactly be arms open welcoming on, and then all the /more/ annoying drama that will begin once a certain mistress of Attimus notices his wife. I'll think on it for a while, though the call is never really up to the players, just the lore devs/Whitelist mods. Edit: I'd like to see an example of Sia outside of her zone, Perhaps from Unbound. Anything that involves interacting with humans/Skrell/Tajara, etc. Doesn't have to be anything big, just an example how she interacted with her fellow crew. -
Also not to mention unathi still have their limits, you can easily counter them and the OP 5 second cuff breaking by simply PULLING them with you, bucklecuffing them to a bed or a chair, or in Yinzr's case with the one hand shit, straight jacket them. (Judging by SoP and space law/etc) Straight jacketing a possible dangerous person with one hand since cuffs are shit is pretty aight
-
N-not like people use unathi security as an excuse to beat up prisoners/harmbaton people/slam their heads against walls and getting prisoners sent to medical just because they were stupid enough to walk into a cell with a harmful prisoner without popping the flash and getting upset when said prisoner wants to fight them. Just because of 'm-muh honor' Anyway, There's no reason why security unathi should be cuffed (Unless they're being detained for putting a prisoner in crit or they're taken hostage.)
-
You know when you get zapped by security with the tasers as you run away the minute they approach you? That's halloss, Actual name is holodamage. Basically it's mental pain induced by the taser/getting beat by the energy sword/Getting punched in the boxing ring. Realistically, it's a nice way to subdue someone by putting them in a state of holographic pain, which fades away over time. Mechanic wise, it puts them in crit without actually killing them.

Please yell at me about my special snowflake Zubari Akenzua the not so unathi unathi

Player Complaint: Callum99877

Well, I certainly remember one incident of it along with you being a general annoyance to sec, and you simply left after. So I'm not going to harass you on that. Main fact is, you shot at security with lethal force, as a captain, and I'll be damned if that is considered ganking. -

The captain isn't above the law, I thought it was specifically stated. I'm starting to detect some whole metafriending going on here since the captain was /so/ on point with wanting to pardon the prisoner. Whenever I see Ezra as an assistant, they're nothing but a troublemaker and tend to trespass into security, but when I see them go captain the next round later, they become a total hardass. Turning lethals on security and firing on them to avoid detainment is a /very/ stupid thing to do, ghosting upon arrest and as a STAFF MEMBER Is even more shameful. A proper captain would of remained cool and on point, took the sentencing like a man and dealt with the issues. Not get into a firefight with security and ghost after they lost. -
Certainly, I wouldn't complain, It's a nuclear round. Most of those times, people die. I don't mind if I get gunned down by a squad after they're pulling a no russian on the station. I never SAW the other nuke ops UNTIL I opened fire.
-
I never caught a sight of other nuke ops trying to subdue you until I opened fire, but if you insist on remaining on a station after it's clearly being attacked and a warning was given to piss off before hand or be killed, you consider that a gank, alright go for it. Because it seemed miscommunication was what lead to you being shot. I'll fess up to my mistake if needed.
-
I didn't hear anything about an operative saying they locked you down. Instructions were given that all personal were to evacuate to an outpost, and that those remaining behind would most likely suffer a harsh face. Guess who was playing security? You. Guess who was ordered to stay behind by another operative, who If I remember correctly, didn't announce they had you captured. You. Guess who would of expected to be killed after sitting near our bomb zone? You. I've seen other op teams go for the 'BOMB THE AI AND IMPORTANT AREAS' approach, and were they giving a spanking? Not that I can see. Nuclear is a bitch of an antag round and people rarely respond to it well. The demands for credits were said, but the crew joked about it. I rarely see nuke ops being taken seriously. I travel by, and see what? An officer remaining in the maintaince area with a gunlocker next to them? After they were told to piss off once the action started happening.
-
What? You never watched under siege before? Clearly it's time to put your super secret sol defence force skills and space navy seals training to use! But no really, The civilian jobs respond how civilians should during a nuke ops attack, If you're not a fighter, Chances are what NT told you to do in this situation is to save all the science info you can, bail to the research station after wiping all the machines and data. Chef, Miner, Bartender. Chances are you'll bail to the mining outpost incase of a code delta/Attack, Not like you're going to see a bartender shoot nuke ops with a fucking doubled barrel shotgun after security gave them lethal ammo. Fear RP comes into play.

I couldn't give a shit about space lesbians. What I do give a shit about is that you intentionally interrupted any sort of roleplay from people you don't like. This is not the thread for it, though. As a matter of fact, I will make a separate thread. I would like to suggest talking this out in a private matter in order to avoid the hassle and I'll give out a much needed apology, but if this is what you wish.
