It's iffy on if a Vaurca unbound is truely lost when it dies in the body, with how little is known Vaurca bodies are returned to their respective hives when they perish, bound or unbound alike, supposedly dark rumors circulate that the bodys are re-used to build the structures of their hives, but then again, who's to say? Think of the Vaurca VR as a massive hotel tower, each room holds a virtual reality, a place as big or small as a Vaurca could want, When a unbound is moved out they are checked out of their room and usually someone else is checked in, when the unbound is returned they get a new room and continue where they had left off while the now bound drone returns to the tasks it had before becoming unbound

LordRaven001's Vaurca Application
SilverTalismen replied to LordRaven001's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Application Approved, Looks like a great character, permission to buzz given! -
I've been busy with highschool and my computer shitting out so I can't do aurora without it lagging out and crashing
-
Right now, Vaurca are cheap labor that NT used their connections to push through into working in the usual jobs, this should earn racism and hatred from other co-workers until Vaurca prove themselves personally in their workplaces as being competent
-
I would say their working the jobs they currently do, Is that in someway they have proven themsevles capapble with nanotransen, or they bribed the fuck out of nanotransen to get into the jobs they currently hold, whos to say except the leaders of the hives?
-
If I may butt in slightly? Vaurca are incredibly hardworking species, While it makes sense for people to wish to bar them from security, It makes no sense in my opinion, Vaurca are a talanted militaristic species, if theres one thing they understand its chain of command and following orders, while NT stations differ greatly from their hives, They can prove themselves capable security officers and soldiers Barring them from medical isn't all that logical in my opinion, Seeing as with Vaurca history they are /Incredibly/ talented in the medical field as they have perfected cybernetics enhancement and have the skills to replace entire organ systems in their young, Make Iron Wombs that constantly knock up their CA's and keep their population stable, Their medical technology while different than Humanitys and the other races, is still advanced in their own regards, they can be talented surgeons and bio-engineers, Amazing paramedics due to never needing a hardsuit and only requireing internals they can go into space in minutes and save endangered crew and personnel Research, While they don't seem like it, They can prove to be talented Researchers, whether or not they merely found the technology for cybernetic enhancements that they have now, they still genetically engineered their species into what it is today, more than likely making them incredibly talented Geneticists and scientists due to the time and effort this would have taken them. Their having cheapworkers is exactly why the entirety of the species is being hired in such a quick manner, millions of Vaurca drones are suddenly flowing in, not needing to get paid they work long backbreaking hours without complaint and have no doubt increased productivity ten fold in places they have been hired, They also increase security, Drones work like humanitys Ant's do, Warriors fall and they can swarm the hostiles with sheer numbers, not ceasing until the hostile, or they themselves are taken out (I'm not encouraging bound to attack antags instantly with this statement) But they have no doubt in a years time efficently proved themselves somewhat capable to hold the jobs they do, even if they are being closely watched by their employers, They deserve a chance, as does any new species

What I am getting from this post is that Vaurca do not have 'work experience;' they're just qualified for the job by testing. So if a given Drone - let's say it's an Unbound drone - is certified to work in, say, Atmospheric Engineering, what would they write under their Employment Records? Yes, when a unbound is hired for a job, They are given a basic test, more than likely something NT designed holographically with a given worst case situation regarding the job and they are tasked to correct the situation effectivly and if they pass then they have proven, with a board of people judging them more than likely, that they are capable enough for their work What class is this character of yours? Bound or unbound? and they are qualified for their jobs by hive standards but must prove it to their employers in some way
-
It depends, if they are following no current orders it would be at the top of their list, but if a head of department or head of staff gives them order it over rides it giving that order priority over the prior one
-
Well how I would treat it is a chain of obedience, its head of department (or captain if lacking) then department co-workers,Then those outside of department, station guests and then finally those outside of station personnel who can then fall into the prior catagory when authorized as a guest of the station

The question remains of how Nanotrasen ever thought hiring the people who stole "a large amount of data" from one of their most important stations was a good idea. Yup, I'm just going to link my own, slightly changed post, here. I'm also going to point out, I hope this doesn't sound rude, But nodoubt all of NT's shady illegal information is not kept soley on aurora but infact in their main headquarters heavily encrypted, What the vaurca stole was PUBLIC information, stuff easily avaliable and not protected like NT's secrets and illegal dealings are, And the reasoning behind 'sticking' these bugs everywhere is that the Vaurca are giving out their bound and unbound in the hundreds fo thousands, if not millions, as a sign of good will towards seven brand new species that they have encountered to show they aren't some invasion force to wage war across the Sol universe. They were explorers and colonists, The worst thing they may have taken from public information is Auroras library archive on books which can in turn carry basic schematics for machinery, textbooks like the ones in engineering or medical that they have readily anyway, and yes they downloaded shit from the extranet which they had access to via the newscasters that correct me if I'm wrong, are connected to said extranet and again the more serious shit is heavily encoded, I doubt they would have understood human coding well enough to break it, to them it would have been some wall of no data. So they took what was already readily avaliable and public information or what was out of date and therefore not important to protect so the hives, in the first sign of goodwill to eachother in this new time, Shared this information with eachother and stopped their fighting so they could learn that they weren't alone in this universe as they may have thought, Making assumptions on a species and believing they would automatically go for a unknown factions illegal and shady information because ' why not we just got here, lets piss off seven new species and cause a war we would more than likely lose', They took public information avaliable and unprotected because thats all they could get and understand. The lore says that only recently Vaurca have begun to been hired and lent out, The bound are being hired because, despite being stupid, they are far from useless, they can be used in mines and work almost non-stop, They can haul cargo, prepare food, Do general maitenence or more complicated maintenance because thats their purpose, they aren't numbered or tracked because there are literally millions upon millions of them per hive, if you want to go through and label them one by one then you can go ahead, Nano-transen is hiring these Vaurca because they have proven themselves resourceful and in the bounds case they are easy to replace, nobody cares when bound die its like loosing one of those little maintenance drones, another slides into place and continues to work. And the 'body swaps' don't happen that often, The only time a body swap happens is if a unbound is raffled out of the VR and put into a bound body and then given some time for recovery and adjusting they begin working their assigned job for a set period of time before being given the option to return to VR, or remain outside of it for the same period of time, Nodoubt NT would recieve notification from the hive about this who would then intern, alert the workers of where they are working at and medical staff so people are aware of this change
-
Vaurca stole a large amount of data when they encountered humanity on the Aurora, from Auroras database, and the Extranet, blueprints, tutorials, books and books on this new sector of space, their VR's were introduced with all of this new information and data about the new species and machinery, Drones were familiarized with what they would be working with, be it machinery, locations, planets, species for the most part, So they can be very qualified for their assigned work but nearly nothing outside of it

1; The same argument can be made for literally any race, including humans if the company didn't happen to be humanrun. 2; The same argument can be made for literally every role. If Vaurca are banned from the security role for the reasons posited, the natural conclusion is that they should be banned from every role except some civilian roles. 1; You're right that it could be made for unathi, and maybe taj, because they both have anatomical weapons, but taj claws aren't that threatening, and unathi are less scary and more well known than vaurca. Skrell are unthreatening in appearance and well known at this point. 2; A vaurca scientist, engineer, or civilian would not be an issue because those roles don't require out-group interaction to a significant degree, and most importantly, doesn't put people into situations where they are likely to be very afraid. A mandible bearing bug with a stun baton however would be a scary thing . With vaurca sec officers you are forcing people to be in violent or at least hostile situations, alone and isolated, with a nightmarish creature. People are going be traumatized by that. And that brings us to medical. I can see people being scared to go under the knife with a vaurca. But at least in these situations they are supposed to help you and heal you. In any case nursing intern and chemist would be fine (psychologist I would be very dubious of: how is a totally alien creature going to do psychology for humans after less than a year of knowledge between the species?). I'd say medical doctor but not surgeon, but, they are really the same job with different focus so they have to be considered as one. During the Vaurca events, A vaurca drone ship that was interfaced with Aurora downloaded a MASSIVE quantity of data from Auroras database AND the extranet, exactly what they downloaded is unknown, But it is safe to assume they know more about human psychology to qualify for the job, even if its all textbook and perhaps out of date data they also know our research and engineering schematics as one of their hives, being obsessed with humanity already changed their ship designs to match humans showing they have schematics since its more than justchanging the exterior shape thats moving systems, power transmitters, electroics and hallways and pipes inorder to match humanitys design, Plus they more than likely got a fairly large chunk of human/skrell/unathi/tajaraan/Diona anatomy and medical research involving those species and viral and medical treatment data for things encountered in that sector and others nearby, They have a HUGE capacity for data, exhibited by the type CA' which stores thousands, if not MILLIONS of vaurca minds in their body in a unknown amount of VR's, And treat Vaurca being security officers as being probational sort of thing since the ones that have applies have shown in their backstory that their character has worked for it or thats their hives main focus is defense or military work, I would say the Central Command DO's are hesitant to hire Vaurca in security, but its a show of goodwill to the Vaurca, humanity is taking millions of their workers and more than likely getting them killed constantly due to neglect and poor order wording or workplace accidents that letting them work Security isn't that major of a thing to them

Really it works on people in visual range? I thought it was a step on sort of run and it boils you? Blood boil working on people who can see it is terrifyingly powerful

ParadoxSpace's Vaurca Application
SilverTalismen replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
If you can get..three? people to reply about a character you've played on aurora and I'll gladly approve this -
It would mend one bone at a time then one organ at a time, it would work even if you can't stand, so it would be 2-3 minutes per bone then 2-3 minutes per organ which would add up With organs it would mend a set amount of damage to the organ per tick rather than instantly healing 666666 damage to a organ instantly, so with higher levels of damage to organs it would prolly work best to just get surgery if its a crisis situation
-
I would also suggest a ID lock, so that only medical or the person who put them in the bag can open it? God knows how many times ive had somebody open up a stasis bag and cause the death of a paitent

Vaurca cannot currently break cuffs that I am aware of

I would say, if the rampant use of mandibles in security keeps going then start warning the ones who keep doing it, and bwoink the ones who keep making a giant mess in the brig with mice gibs for no reason, There isn't any reason for a Vaurca to do that, Only drones are dumb enough and even they would be under directions from their hive not to be a disgrace, Unbound doing it have no excuse, they are smarter than the bound, I'm saying if you see a unbound or bound gibbing a mouse in a open area, Ahelp it and a admin can bwoink them and warn them about it, It isn't appropriate behavior and would disgrace their hives for doing such a thing
