Juani2400
BYOND Key: Juani2400. Character Names: Vera'Qaule Weqrr-Xeblakk (Captain), Trylls Kilp-Umiish (Head of Security), Ke'Quip Wiqsaiit (Chief Medical Officer), Maqsood'tur Bayesoh (Head of Personnel), Oisla'rrk Waa'rii (Security Officer). Species you are applying to play: Vaurca. What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): [RGB 71 ,11, 51], as a bound worker of the Ta'Akaix'Scay'extiih'aur's brood. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: This species has always seemed like a very fun species to play with, specially with the amount differences between the hives and the types of Vaurcae, which allows a great combination of factors to make different characters with a single whitelist. I also quite enjoy their mechanical differences, which make them unique when compared to any of the other species of the game, which ultimately are all pretty much the same. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: It has been ages since I last played a human. But I think the differences are quite obvious, and will always depend on the type of individual that you are playing; bound or unbound, hive and type if bound. The species' setting as some sort of refugees in the system, their just recent discovery by humans or the discrimination to which they are subjected to are things that are not present in any other species, and thus it requires developing a new way to RP them, making them hugely different from humans. Character Name: Ka'Viax'Zuul Zo'ra. Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Born as a worker class vaurca from the Ta'Akaix'Scay'extiih'aur's brood, Ka'Viax'Zuul was immediately chosen to be a bound, medical-specialized helper, as part of a replacement for a group of medical workers who perished during an accident in a medical facility due to a mishandling of oxygen meant for chemical synthesis, which reacting with the present phoron in the atmosphere of the ship, resulted in an explosion, killing a total of fifteen people in the facility. Right after its birth, it was lobotomized and installed its first augments. It would then spend several months being fed all the information required for its career through VR, before being implanted its neural socket and sent to work to one of the several medical facilities of the hive-ship. 'Zuul worked and developed, within its limits as a bound, his career on-board the hive-ship for three decades uneventfully. His assignment in the facility was that of a paramedic, working to stabilize and bring the patients into the medical facility. As his nature of a bound vaurca, he would apply the same routine for every patient that required medical aid after arriving to a scene: scan a patient, seal bleeding spots, inject a mixture of stabilizing agents, and transport. Over, and over. 'Zuul was not able to perform anything outside of what he had been trained for; he had been given instructions on how to detect and seal a bleeding wound, on how to inject the mixture, and how to transport safely, and this what he did. After the arrival of the Titan Prime -the hive-ship 'Zuul worked on- into human space, he was one of the first batches of vaurcae who were evacuated from the ship. It was then, rendered useless because of the lack of medical facilities, that the hive decided to re-adapt 'Zuul slightly and to send him, in accordance to the contract signed with the Tau Cetian authorities and NanoTrasen, to fill one of the quota spots for medical staff in the latter. It was then that 'Zuul was sent to one of the major escort ships of the company, the NMV Poseidon. Several years were spent on the ship, before suffering a reassignment to the NSS Aurora after a training policy was introduced, that required medical staff aboard the Security Services ships to take training courses on basic combat, something 'Zuul was unable to do because of his bound nature. What do you like about this character? This character has been designed to be simplistic and linear, as the latter is what I understand a bound vaurca is: X happens, I react in a certain pre-trained Y way. While I will experiment with both sides of the species, I am specially interested in the roleplay of bound Vaurcae because of this reason. The character itself, as seen, it's not much more than a simple worker drone with no self-conscience, and that's what I enjoy of this possibility, and it's something that makes them different from roleplaying station-bounds or IPCs. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Really average. A 7 out of 10, at most. Notes: I've finally made it. Link to comment
Butterrobber202
I’m all for more bugbois, and your story was decent enough. Here's ooonnnneeee problem though. thonk: https://imgur.com/a/Ewb2vC4 Your coloration should be that of a Bound Zo'ra Worker (based on which Queen's brood you came from), and you didn’t list what Brood your bound crawled out of. Here’s the link to all the current Zo'ra broods: https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Vaurca_Hives#Zo.27ra Other than being a filthy Zo'ra, good app Chief. Link to comment

Bygonehero
The reason why it is discouraged to apply as a bound is that it is difficult to convey a character with one. They are little more than what they appear, and while this doesn't prevent them from having a complex life, it is hard to convey that in the traditional sense as you could with other characters. Socially, they are products of their environment rather than the people they hang out with. This is why I really like your application. I don't need to know much more about your character aboard the NMV Poseidon BUT what they did, and who they impacted with their duty can provide development all the same, something that could be explored if you wished. With this said, Your application is creative and excellent. It hits all the marks I hope to see in a whitelistee. Application Accepted! Link to comment
