merc rounds (in my experience) devolve into "the mercs leave and then taunt the station for an hour and a half"

it is dumb and it is boring

This happens so rarely, you know. Most of the time it's most of the members dying an hour in and there's a manhunt for that ONE crafty guy who actually knows how to merc. Other than that, they usually never return to the base. But it's your experience though...I never see it despite being on a lot.

I used to see it happen a ton back when I played almost every week. If it isn't a recurring issue, I still think it should be changed because why would you still be in range of the station's comms when you're in your hidden lair?

They can hear the station's comms normally, before flying to their. Plus, it's all from the encryption keys in their headsets.

I'm not questioning whether or not they should have access, I'm questioning whether or not their radios are strong enough to pick up signals from a station that's presumably a decent distance away.

yeah this gets annoying quick and doesn't contribute anything, but i don't see the purpose of removing it entirely. i've done interesting things with the last bit of radio contact mercs have had with the station.

...yeah you're coming back form a long hiatus saying this is a frequent is rather amusing. I've never seen it used too awfully. Banter's the best part of antagging anyway
