Rework the function of *deathgasp

Alright, this is something very minor but hear me out on this one:

The emote *deathgasp serves no purpose at all. Like, in any situation, ever. Except to meme around or to confuse people for 5 seconds. So here is what I suggest:

a) Remove the emote entirely, it serves no purpose in it's current state

b) Remake it's function like the following (or something similar): When being in paincrit and/or under a certain threshold in health it is usable, but instead of just producing just a sentence like now it makes you actually succumb to your injuries.

Explanation for b) is easy. Sometimes you are dying, but not really or it takes 10 minutes without hope of rescue. You lie there, in your own blood, in paincrit, unconcious but unable to die. You could just ghost, but that's a shitty way out in my eyes. So having this as a way out could maybe be a good compromise. I hope you get what I want to say.

No idea if this mechanic would be abused by the regular players or there are other grave red flags that speak against this change, so feel free to criticise this suggestion into the ground. It was something that came up and I wanted to write down before I forget it.

No, I'm with VT here. Succumb is already there for option b and option a is pointless.

I've used *deathgasp in an rp sense and I know others have as well.

Zapped with a laser tag gun or a cap gun

"NO! I'VE BEEN HIT! GOODBYE CRUEL WORRRRLD!"

rest + *deathgasp

It gives a cute air of authenticity without having to type out " me falls to the ground and plays dead"

We do? Then forget about option b) and just remove it entirely, since it serves no (RP or otherwise) purpose.

It's just not on the verbs list. You have to know about it, and type it out in the command bar.

Argument makes no sense. Why would you RP being dead - without actually being dead?

also, the sentence the prompt produces appears automatically, when dying. So why have the emote if it serves no function, in any situation, ever?

For playing dead. Though I agree that having an emote to do it is a bit excessive.

Oh, playing dead. Misunderstood. Well....I guess. It's pretty pointless, but, alright. As I wasn't on up-to-date anyway with my suggestion, since I didn't knew that there was actually a verb to sccumb on Aurora. So, I guess that's that.

Playing dead is a viable way to escape getting actually dead, yes. In a huge havoc, people are just waiting for that "final death" noise to move on to another target or escape a situation before others arrive. In that way, people aren't going to check your pulse and if they do, well, then you failed to fool them. But sometimes, just sometimes, you can fight meta with meta (and it isn't intended meta, it really isn't. It's just the way a video game works.)

As noted, deathgasp has a niche purpose that would be lost in it's absence. There's no harm in having it in emote form over someone having to copy+paste the text every time they want to play dead.
