Rushodan
CCIA Staff Application Basic InformationByond key: shodan43893 Character names: Sophie Hawkins (Previously Sophie Rifler) - Head of Security Unity - Security Officer Zana - AI/Stationbound Faith Webb - Head of Personnel Alicia Lovejoy - Phoron Researcher Age: 21 Timezone: GMT What times are you most available?: After university or pretty much any time during the holidays (6/7pm onwards to 2am really during term) ExperienceHow long have you played SS13?: Three or four years, started out on Paradise Station before I eventually desired to find something a little less chaotic and more roleplay focused. That is when I came onto Aurora, noting the HRP tag. How long have you played on Aurora?: Roughly two years now, off and on as my life used to be pretty unstable in terms of being able to access a computer. Now life has quieted down and I am am pretty active once more. How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? I tend to lurk on the forums and discord, mostly taking an active presence on the server playing my HoS (because I am clearly a masochist) and slowly venturing out to try other roles. With Discord I tend to read most things and leave a response if I feel like it will add something to the conversation, and finally I use the forums mostly to just read up on stuff (and complain about departmental security). Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Never on Aurora (well technically I did once but it was a false flag) - however I was banned on Paradise as it was my own personal period of...getting all my shittyness out I guess? I believe its like the quote I once saw about programming - everyone has some degree of crappiness within them that they have to get out before the good stuff can come along. My good stuff is now here and I am not afraid to admit I used to have a bad part which I have finally worked away. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: Used to do a lot of moderation with ArmA 2/3 takistan life servers, dealing with general complaints and refunding equipment that was 'armarised' (IE - generally vanished or broken due to how buggy ArmA can be sometimes). Have also done my fair share of discord moderation as well as running a couple of Gmod servers back in the day. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: Working in customer service roles, if you find it applicable. I have had to deal with a lot of different cases that have to be carefully analysed and dealt with to avoid both making the company look dumb and upsetting the customer. Being fair, polite and professional even when you think someone is a dumbass is my bread and butter. PersonalityWhy do you want to join the CCIA?: Funnily enough what originally made me want to apply for CCIA was having an IR filed against my character (Sophie Rifler at the time) and seeing how it was dealt with. Observing how it wasn't just a bwionk and how there was actually some interaction there, some room for character development was extremely interesting to me. It's not often on RP servers where such an entity fills this purpose ICly, instead admins solving issues in an OOC capacity. I would love to be apart of such an organisation. I originally made a detective character for a reason - I love getting both sides of the story, looking into witness accounts and simply trying to get to the bottom of a case before handing out a fair punishment that leaves room for further roleplay over a blanket 'get fired'. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: I believe the most important trait a CCIAA can possess is a purely professional, corporate, unbiased outlook on situations so that they can be handled fairly in the eyes of NanoTrasen. Being able to separate IC and OOC is extremely important too, so while I might be best friends with someone in an OOC capacity ICly I need to treat them as if they are just another worker that I owe no favors to. They will be handled justly, and be given an appropriate punishment for what they have done. I think a spark of creativity is important too...give a punishment that best fits the crime...make it relate in a way that can be interesting an add on to a character. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: From what I understand, in server the purpose of a CCIAA is to respond to faxs, turn up to the station to question suspects, witnesses and accusers in IR cases as well as making CentCom announcements if required. They are the pencil pushers and desk jockeys that keep the corporate cogs turning during a round without ruining it with the silly 'confirmation' faxes. You know the ones...a centcom announcement is made by an antag which is believable, but immediately someone gets the bright idea of 'lets fax to double check'. I mean if you have reason to suspect it sure...but in general those irk me quite a bit. Instead I believe that CCIA certainly have the capability to help push a round along, sometimes siding with the gimmick if it is interesting and believable. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: Outside of the server they co-ordinate with involved parties in an IR case to arrange for a time and date to get on the server for a proper interview and generally chase up IRs until conclusion. As an OOC entity CCIA exists as another form of moderation which deals with things on a more IC level than an OOC one. Where an admin may bwoink, warn and ban a CCIAA exists to interview, assess and give a punishment which more impacts the character than the player, allowing for more positive changes in the long run in my opinion. How do you handle stress?: I believe I handle stress very well these days, I have had a lot of things happen IRL which have forced me to grow up and take situations with a level head. I am often able to overcome problems that are stressing me out by taking some space, thinking about it carefully and coming back calm and collected. I know when I am getting overworked and am able to stick a hand up and ask for assistance when those times come. How well do you work autonomously?: I am able to capably work alone without someone watching over my back, as university life has forced me to learn how pretty quickly. Unlike school, Uni involves a lot of self study, time management and generally good discipline if you want to get some decent grades. That being said I am not afraid to ask for help when dealing with a challenging situation, or if I am forced to handle it alone can generally work out what needs to be done at the end of the day. I never need to be prompted to get on task, as I hate leaving things unattended. Edited July 22, 2019 by The lancer Link to comment
Resilynn
I’ve seen you chill out A LOT over the last couple of years. You’re pretty solid in command now, and you seem invested in the universe and your characters- I think being in it for the RP is a great feature in a CCIAA. +1 from me. Link to comment
