MattAtlas
CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: - MattAtlas Character names: - https://i.imgur.com/smuDVCx.png , my most played ones are Lelyl Kerei'Velan and Emily Cress. Age: - 17 Timezone: - GMT+2 What times are you most available?: - Anytime from 11 AM to 9 PM in my timezone, so basically the entire afternoon and some of the evening. Experience How long have you played SS13?: - Three years. How long have you played on Aurora?: - Three-ish years, with a long break in-between. How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? - Not very active on the forums, since I don't do much there. I browse the discord daily. I'm getting my activity up on the server, but I'm trying not to overplay the game, so as to not get burnt out again. I dislike playing on lowpop, so I often lobbysit until there's a good pop to play in. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: - No. Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: - I was a moderator then secondary admin here. I was a trial moderator on CM for a short amount of time. Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: - I was an admin and sometimes assisted CCIA or took a look at what they were doing. Otherwise, no. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: - It would be a nice change of pace and I've always been interested in applying, as shown by my moderator application. I'd be able to help the server with the IR backlog and I'd like to completely get rid of the trashtalk surrounding CCIA, as I told Lancer yesterday. In addition, being able to RP a CCIAA has always been very interesting from my perspective, as I initially intended to apply for CCIA rather than moderation staff, but ended up on the latter. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: - You must be impartial, since you're expected to solve reports fairly. You must have good knowledge of station directives and corporate regulations, including how they're applied. You must be able to prioritize the enjoyment of the server at large when answering faxes, due to how they can make or break a round very easily. You need to know the round flow to know how to make it better. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: - Faxes are a very important part of why being a head of staff can be enjoyable, and also serve to make the world feel alive, in a way. Getting an answer from CC has always been kind of exciting to many people. In addition, faxes can indirectly assist newer heads of staff with what decisions they can take - lastly, faxes can improve the round by creating more interactions with antagonists, assisting their gimmicks and so on. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: - Consequences having post-round impacts is a large part of why people like Aurora. The CCIA are integral to this because of the whole IR system - they're what make crimes have consequences IC, and can give characters unique roleplay avenues via interviews. In addition, IRs are vital as post-round IC punishments when something isn't an OOC rulebreak and the CCIA are instrumental for them to exist. This system is trusted because the CCIA are expected to review cases impartially. How do you handle stress?: - I was an admin. I handle stress fine. How well do you work autonomously?: - I don't need oversight to work, I would say I'm a good independent worker. Chada1
MattAtlas has been contributing to the wiki on and off for a couple of years; Their additions were always decent, and now that they're on the wiki team and I've been working alongside them, as well as seen them under stress -- I can say they'd likely be a good fit for most Staff positions, for sure they've been a good fit for the wiki team.
