Item function(s): It's a labcoat. It has two pockets, and the same protections of a normal labcoat.

Item description: A well-worn labcoat that marks its wearer as an employee of Terraneus Diagnostics, a subsidiary corporation of Einstein Engines. Text on the labcoat's breast pocket marks the employee as a roboticist employed at Factory 09, Hoboken, United Americas. Despite wear and tear, it still manages to protect against minor chemical spills (and grease).

Why is your character bringing this item to work?
Likho, as a free shell, is not somebody that owns a lot. Most of her possessions have been used, repaired, reused, and repaired again until they completely fail. This labcoat, originally used by herself when she was a research assistant in Factory 09, has been a reliable friend for upwards of five years. It also holds some sentimental value for Likho, as it is a reminder of how far she has come over the course of half a decade.

How did your character obtain this item (1 paragraph or more please):
Likho recieved this labcoat upon her creation/employment as a scientific research assistant for Terraneus Diagnostics -  the obtainment is as simple as that. It's one of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of similar labcoats in use by Terraneus - the only unique marking on it is the factory is wearer is employed in.
Likho PROPERLY recieved it when she was formally decomissioned following the advent of more advanced shells and an industrial accident that left her scarred. A sympathetic floor supervisor opted to "fire" her instead of scrapping her shell and placing her positronic brain into a new body, and threw her out with her clothes on her back: she was left with the labcoat and a Terraneus synthetic uniform, with a shuttle ticket to Mendell City stuffed into one pocket and 500 Credits stuffed into the other.
What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell? (2 paragraphs here please):
Likho views it as the last link to her past she has, aside from a ticket stub for a Solarian shuttle to Mendell City, and keeps it as a reminder of how far she has come - and how close she was to simply being scrapped and recycled. In term of raw value it's a functional labcoat that can resist grease and most minor chemicals despite its age, and she does not have a lot of money. Therefore, she wishes to hang onto it for as long as possible.
In terms of a story, it shows the journey Likho has been on: she's gone from a Terraneus prototype shell, to a Terraneus owned shell, to free, to a Tau Ceti Foreign Legion volunteer, to a citizen, and finally to a NanoTrasen employee. The labcoat shows where her story starts, and where it has gone.
How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP?
It makes for an interesting conversation piece: the labcoat itself looks like nothing else in the research department or on the station and clearly displays Likho's origins with Terraneus Diagnostics.

Additional Comments: In order to replicate a (theoretical) Terraneus uniform, I used the color palette from an Einstein Engines uniform.

I forgot ONE pixel on the front of the coat and left it white, like a dummy. I fixed that.

?? Please give this man what he wants. Likho is one of the more enjoyable roboticists on our server and this would certainly be a great to help explore her story in character.

Be fore warned though Im not sure if Einstein Engines is still a contractor but it should be fine for sentimental reasosn and history with the company
