Arch - Possible Low RP

Staff involved:  I Ahelped to ask why I was implanted out of curiosity. Don't remember who answered me though.

Reason for complaint: I'll start by putting you in my shoes. I join the round when it's about 50 minutes to an hour in. I get geared up and on my way out of the locker room I hear laser shots and see the Warden chassing around the cadet. They yell at me to stop them, so I draw my taser and tell the Cadet to get down. During my confrontation the cadet manages to use a injecto-pen (whatever they're called) on me, putting me into a coma for around 40 minutes. So far, nothing to complain about, really. Not the cadet's fault for defending themselves. So I sit in medical, unable to do anything for all this time and eventually they bring me to surgery. I patiently wait and eventually I manage to get out of there. I take a few steps outside the OR only, exchange maybe two words with the CMO and boom. I explode.

Now, I joined the round late, so I can't say for sure if the Surgeon had any kind of escalation going before implanting me, essentially turning someone who had been stuck waiting for 45 minutes into the weapon they'd use to kill someone else. What I'm asking is for you guys to check if there was any sort of RP leading to my death, because I sure as hell didn't get any. I heard from some people that there wasn't really any indicators as to why I was used as a bomb, other than that it was an attempt on the CMO. 

I will cancel this complaint if told that there was, in fact, some story or anything leading up to my death.

Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? Yes and No, I asked why I was bombed but the staff member (Cant recall who) told me they believed it was to kill the CMO. Didn't think much on it at first, finding it absurd still that I died in such a dumb way. I should have made a complaint right at that point, but I mostly just shrug off these kind of things. Thinking about it more made me realize how poor of a play it was if no RP was actually attempted before using me as an innocent weapon.

Hello. Arch here. Like I told kermit last night, I was really ashamed. It was my second round on Aurora after a 2 months break. I wanted to play Arch as he had a really good character arc around with many medical staff. Plus I also invested time into how he reacts to those around him.

 

I will not get into detail with that, but I will tell you what happened.

 

Traitor rounds. I was a traitor in my first round as Arch. Coming back here after brainmed was put up, being thrown as a traitor into the round (I forgot to check my roles) was already confusing but I tried to antagonize as best as I could without...making too much damage. Of course it did not happen. 

 

The ones that were antagonized throughout the round and the ONLY ones who, from my perspective, had witnessed my escalation were the medical staff. The escalation was mostly verbal, passive agressive, but not what you would expect from an IPC during an extended round for example.

 

The CMO was a target. The medbay was my playing ground. And you..unfortunately, had I known all you had to go through  I maybe would've not used that explosive implant.

 

As soon as I implanted you, I encountered the CMO, my words to her being "Unfortunately, they will not live."

 

The CMO confused by my words approached you, me continuing with "Do not worry, I will inform your next of kin." Thus detonating the implant you had on you when the CMO was 1 tile away.

You were, unfortunately, used as a weapon rather than have you involved into the gimmick further. I am sorry, I know the frustration, I have been there. I do not wish to be that roleplayer who keeps people hostage and does not allow them to play. It was malice..it was a wrongdoing I accepted, recognized and one that I am ashamed of.

 

I am sorry, I hope our future interactions will.be more pleasant ones. I am already trying to find new gimmicks as an antag to provide at least the majority of those around me with a mix of action and passive roleplay.

 

Any questions, I can answer. Also, sorry for the scream spam. It was 2 AM and I thought my scream bind was actually OK to use. But thinking back to it, that I wouldn't have seen appropiate not even on a MRP server.

 

I hope my explanation is one that.you find to your liking. I am.sorry I couldn't expand my.escalation outside the medbay.

 

And I am sorry for liking the explosive implants so much.

Pretty much did the exact same thing in round b4L-dxSY. Decided to bomb implant and murder two surgeons just...because?

It was not "just because". Not this round.

It is very easy to come forth and mention that I had no reason to do so just because I used an explosive implant.

 

It was not that way. I was antagonized by the surgeons, Nina Thompson and Cerise. They were being distrusftul and offending. Later I was chosen as traitor and had chose all surgeons to be my targets.

 

Seeing Cerise wounded, I lied to her aboud needing surgery. Adelaine came shortly after within the operation room, right after installing the explosive implant.

 

I paralysed Adelaine and administered soporific to both of them. I used the explosive implant on Cerise as a distraction and a mean to kill her.

 

The destruction had given me enough time to kill Adelaine as well.

 

It was not "just because".

I'd also like to add that after my objective was completed, I surrendered to the ISD. I kept on repeating that the Surgeons were a liability. Many, many times. Other than that, I couldn't get the third surgeon, Nina, since she did the usual welder bomb after antagonizing me and did it in maint. She ran off sadly as she were my 3rd target. Which was you if I'm not mistaken.

Therefore the escalation was there for this round. My Zeng-Hu frame does not allow me to fight. Instead I make use of an entirely different arsenal.

I played Nina that round, also a traitor.

I was the one causing most of the arguments to spark issues (as an antag too) but felt like killing your character off would be way too much without escalation. So I didn't. That you then decided to go after two people who did considerably less seems off to me. A petty argument resulting in explosive implants is kind of a mean move in my book; I doubt you'd have had fun if I'd decided to just EMP you after we had a few heated conversations.

I see the way you're trying to put all the justification into a certain perspective, but you have deeemed a certain situation as being low-rp without even partaking into it for more than 1 mere minutes. 

It is weird that you accuse me of LowRP when you did not much but blast a sentence out of nowhere and just leave. That's all you did. All the time. A slight insult to Arch and just left the screen before I could react to it, because, I do use a lot of emotes.

So honestly, I do not even see the reason for why are you even trying to contribute something to this report. I did not come back to Aurora, especially not during this time of the year, to have to deal with players who can barely accept something which is not convenient to them. 

 

Therefore, if you do have a grudge against me, OOC or IC, please make it more obvious and find better reasons to take it into forum reports.

I always acknowledged where I have been wrong, I always experimented with new ways of Roleplaying, I do feel ashamed for the round where I played with Uaine, but I surely do not see your contribution here to this report as being to any use other than, simply, "just because" you could.

Hey, so after talking with Goret we have come to the conclusion that the actions taken were in very poor escalation. Implanting can be used to create tension and raise escalation, however how this was performed was in a very poor manner of escaklation to where there was close to no interaction before killing them, I will be leaving a note on the user and serving this as a verbal warning that escalation needs to be progressed before such a action as this is warranted.
