Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) Dionae should have an ability when near a dead body to start absorbing. The ghost/mob of the corpse will be given a choice to opt in or not. If they dont the diona will get a message about the body being beyond reach. If it accepts the diona spends 2 minutes devouring the body. When complete it leaves behind a husk or skeleton. The ghost mob then joins the diona as part of the gestalt. It can speak and has memories of the victim up until death. If the diona splits the person then becomes a nymph. The concept of living again, but through this way, creates body and psychological horror that can nevertheless be portrayed in a romantic way (in a literature way, not kissy romance). GreenBoi Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 I was going to say no, but this could work. So long as there is a text that tells the ghost they don't remember everything or exactly what killed them so we can prevent memes like nymphs screaming "HALP I WAS KILLED BY CULT IN MAINT!!" I would be willing to experiment with these and see what concepts it allows to be brought into fruition and that small section of wikilore that everyone's forgotten about to maybe see the light of day on the server in anything past the incredibly rare medical record or smalltalk.
Yonnimer Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 This sounds neat, and i'd be fine with it. Although I agree with GreenBoi, there'd need to be something to stop a recently killed person from metaing their killer. Personally i'd suggest the same thing cloning had, which is a lapse in memory before death, although there are definitely better ideas.

Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Isnt there a trauma where it says you forget everything leading up to your death? We could do it like that.
Yonnimer Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 @Marlon Phoenix Most of the time someone will get that before they die, at least in my experience. So yeah that might be enough, so long as they know it carrys over.
Carver Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 Doesn't this just make them thematically and mechanically far better and cooler changelings? I'll support it if we lose changelings in exchange for this feature.
