TheDilShawn's command application

Recommended Posts

BYOND key: TheDilShawn

Character names: Shawn Dil; D-I-L; Dawning in Life; The Devotion of an Illusory Legion; Small Lights of the Distant Stars; Crimson of the Fallen Leaves.

How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Over a year for sure. Maybe a year and a half?

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to expand the utility of my character roster to include a character that is a Head of Personnel.

Why did you come to Aurora?: Compared to the other servers that claim to have roleplay this is the only one I've experienced some sort of sense of humanity within the characters that are being roleplayed.

Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?  c98MslC.png

My warnings and notifications page in-game.

Appart from that I've had a few notes about stuff I shouldn't have done.

Can't remember being banned... though others could confirm this if true or false.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay should be about a balance of believably of a character's existence and interactions IC within a set of OC restrictions that allows for a immersive experience and results in a proper story, round after round.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The heads of staff are leaders to their respective parts of the station, they are there to help with decisions, guidance and enforcement relative to the performance of the station and it's crew members. They are looked upon to help coordinate crew members when the need arises to ensure problems are resolved, be that some biohazard for engineers, lack of members for a certain job for the head of personnel or spiders/ carp for the head of security for example.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The responsibilities someone would have with the whitelist would be not to de-value the command roles that they play. The attention that you get in a command role comes with a lot of expectations from others to perform to a certain standard. The value you project with your command character will reflect over all the other characters with that role as you interact with players.

Furthermore, refering to the certain standard that whitelisted characters are expected to perform, said standard is quite high not only because they represent their whitelist but also they are the ones that fill the most important roles of the station and so should act accordingly.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? As a head of personnel character from NT, he knows that there's pressure over a shortage of phoron that his higher ups keep talking about and had to manage resources accordingly as to minimize the costs of the management teams he was a part of in his career due to pressure from his superiors.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Head of Personnel.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: How would you rate your own roleplaying?: John Alexander, Head of Personnel. Rating my own roleplaying? Unsure, a 6/10 maybe? Don't really know.

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Of course.

Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes. Mainly the guide to command, head of personnel and the liaison/ representative pages. (Last one to learn what their actual role was to interact with)

Extra notes: The HoP character I'm planning to make is connected to the assistant of "Small Lights of the Distant Stars" as they kind of adopted and pulled strings to have them work in Aurora and taught over their priority of crew morale to them too. Hence you can expect a hard working head of personnel that gives great attention to morale over those present around them with frequent visits to various departments to check up on their spirits... as well as their productivity, not forgetting his duties.

Regarding paperwork, there was a time where I handled alot of paperwork as D-I-L (android) so I'm not too green over it.

Thank you for reading and hopefully you won't be too harsh over my past...

Also can't focus enough to *properly* re-read the whole thing I've written, am too anxious and tired to do so, let's hope there's nothing to fix.
