Definitive answer on armor vests.

The character I play as security likes to wear body armor always because of the risks the station usually faces and he endures from time to time.

I was asked in certain game to remove my armor as there is no reason to have the armor on (indeed there was no major threat present then but only what seemed to be at a certain time) and I was ordered to remove it and not wear it unless there's a threat that requires it and that I must take into account my character's comfort. I was also asked to ahelp everyone I saw who was wearing armor vests.

I decided to do that today in an extended round where I saw several officers wearing armor vests while playing dice I decided to ahelp that thing. To my surprise I was told they are security so It's okay for them to wear it.

Now, my question is, when is it appropiate to wear armor vests? Should I ignore what my character feels in the station even if that feeling is not that safe? I'm not complaining about anything. I legit want to know.

I usually wear the vest 24/7, it’s the helmet I swap in and out.

Security officers can wear their vests at all times, it's just the helmet that's donned on blue and above, or when there's an active situation. If a Head of Security or Captain orders you otherwise though, you should listen to them.
