Misiek wants to have a nice office, a Command application

How long have you been playing on Aurora?: I’ve been playing properly on Aurora for close to three months now, I believe, starting in early January. I’ve been playing on and off since 2018, though.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Getting the Command whitelist was on my mind since I properly started playing. I’ve been interested in leading departments, and probably will once I manage to nab the whitelist, but I am mainly interested in the Corporate Representative/Consular Officer role at the moment. It seems like a good way to progress character arcs that is rarely utilized.

Why did you come to Aurora?: Aurora, in a way, reminds me of old Bay, back when Exodus was the map. Guess you can say nostalgia brought me back in, and the people helped me stay.

Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: I have.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?: Nothing other than a few notes, I believe, and a warning from around two years ago that was applied to me after SSD’ing as some job slot I can’t remember.

Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is and should be about: I see roleplay as both a form of relaxation and as practice for improving one’s writing skills. When roleplaying, you’re essentially a different person. You’re someone with a different mindset, ideology, and relationships, and you try your best to illuminate that fact while roleplaying. You’re meant to have fun, even in the event of drama and negative events, as it brings character development, and can help you, OOCly, understand other people. RP, of course, shouldn’t be taken seriously to the point someone starts mixing IC and OOC affairs. Just because someone plays an overly hostile character ingame, doesn’t mean they’re a horrible person out of it.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: From my point of view, a Head of Staff is meant to provide guidance. They’re there to run the department, make sure it’s organized and the players in it are having fun. Newer players take you as their role model, and you should help them settle in while teaching them mechanics in your respectable department they aren’t necessarily sure about. You’re also responsible for following along with antag gimmicks, just swinging down the hammer on the antag will make for a boring round, but perhaps negotiating and trying to resolve situations peacefully would be far more interesting, especially if it sparks up departmental or station-wide drama.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The OOC responsibility of Whitelisted players is, again, to set an example. If anything, you’re expected to have a well-written character as Command, show off what you’re capable of during the rounds to set the best standard for the server, and welcome new players with open arms, so they too can improve and create better characters.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau Ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Following the recent Event Arc involving the Sol Alliance falling apart after their failed invasion of Biesel, the Orion Spur became a bit of a chaotic mess. The CEOs of NT, Hephaestus, Idris, Zeng-Hu, and Zavodskoi have all banded together and formed the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate. Its influence is absolutely massive, and it is said that it’s the one thing that holds the Spur together at the moment. The character I plan to utilize after getting the whitelist is Riley Mueller, an old and experienced Corporate Eridani employed by the Ringspire PMC. They’ve been sent to Tau Ceti due to the SCC changes, as a way of monitoring EPMCs contracted to work aboard the Aurora, as well as representing both the Corporate Federation and The Golden Fist itself.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?: At the moment, I’m mainly interested in being an EPMC Representative, although may extend towards playing as a CMO.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.:

Riley Mueller - EPMC Representative

Vul'ux Qixrim - Likely the one that will be taking the CMO spot if I feel confident enough.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: As usual, I typically despise answering this question, and as usual, rate myself a solid 7/10. I do feel like I’m able to portray emotions and play a character correctly, but there are other people that are significantly better at it than I am.

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?: Of course.

Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?: Indeed I have.

Extra notes: Nothing to really mention here.

I interacted with Leonard on occassion and just last round with Anderson both as Rize Noack - I'm not familiar with they're capability for command or medical but on an RP level, they would do well as a station liaison. +1

My only experience of Leonard was where I was blatantly ignored when I came to offer him, and his group at the time, a few emergency supplies. I can understand rudeness or preferences to particular characters but I wasn't even humoured with a response and the entire ordeal came off as incredibly cliquey.

I do not believe this this appropriate play for a player, let alone someone in command. Being in round means a level of expected engagement with others. In that instance I might as well have been a ghost, and it was quite disheartening.

Hi, thank you for the feedback, always appreciated. I would like to know when did that happen, if you do not mind, of course, and would also like to apologize for it. I'm aware my first rounds as Leonard could've been relatively subpar, but I am improving my communication skills and trying to get people involved in the round as Lesley.

I've been thinking of being more proactive with my EPMC Representative if I do manage to get a trial, and actually involve departments to figure out their opinions on The Golden Fist and Eridani as a whole via private meetings, seminars and other activities.

So - I've served as a Warden alongside Misiek's HoS a good few times now, and thought I'd drop some feedback. He just seems generally competent at this - manages Officers and situations well, doesn't get out of hand or freak the fuck out. Nothing outstanding or astonishing, but definitely does the job and does the job well. Don't really have any complaints after 3 or 4 rounds, so consider it a +1. Especially because I like the character and the roleplay's been fun.
